  • Arborist. Tree Surgeon. Monkey with a Chainsaw. Crane rider.
Whatever name you know them by, one thing can't be disputed. They know their trees.
Join Adam and Justin as they take on a cobra in a Seattle sanctuary. Meet Moi and Jeremy and experience first hand what its like to traverse the canopy. Hold on for dear life as some of the guys perform an aerial rescue overlooking the Puget sound.
They are the tree experts. In order to become a certified arborist you must be knowledgable in all aspects of Arboriculture and pass an exam with the International Society of Arboriculture or ISA. In order to be eligible to take that exam you have to be in the field for at least 3 years or have a degree in Arboriculture. You'll never know everything there is to know about the 73,300 known species of trees in the world but you'll learn a lot and meet some amazing people on the way. It can be a very rewarding job or it could be your last one.
This is not a desk job. This is a career where loss of life is a very real possibility and loss of limb, a very real thing. Falling from distances, heavy machinery, decayed wood , falling debris, stinging bees and power lines are just a few of the dangers you'll encounter, should you follow this path. Gravity is not your friend if you decide to cut corners.
Even if the trees aren't where you belong, we're glad you found us here. Beneath the canopy, everyone is welcome (as long as you have a helmet on). This is the start of a new adventure here at Seattle Tree Care. A very real and very honest look into the daily life of being an arborist.
So do you really want to be an Arborist? If you are seriously asking yourself that question than this channel is for you. You will learn new techniques, learn about current events in the field and even check out the latest and greatest gadgets and equipment. You'll get to climb some trees and work with chainsaws. You'll meet some of the most amazing people and see the world from the top of it. We hope these videos help answer some of your questions but in all seriousness, at the end of the day, you'll have to ask yourself if you have the mental and physical fortitude to do this job. Are you cut out to be an Arborist?
