Acer Macrophyllum - Big Leaf Maple Removal
Acer Macrophyllum or Big Leaf Maple. Our Pacific Northwest Maple is the largest of the species. We were honored when the University of Washington called us to remove this historic tree from the grounds after it failed and almost fell through Hansee Hall.
After an informative safety meeting, Peter, Arne and Russell head out to take down this future catastrophe, a fact discovered once the tree was down. If you catch the clock on the wall, you'll see the time of day when the safety meeting ended and the time the tree was on the ground. Did you notice how long it took?

Tree Removal from Historic "Boys in the Boat" Shell House

The story of the 1936 Boys in the Boat is rooted in the Pacific Northwest. It also happens to be a favorite story of Peter's and an amazing tale of teamwork and dedication. Under CDL is 26,000lbs and under.

Fuck yeah Peter! I am just across the water in Port Orchard, loving the old school style bro! Have you considered a large caritool without the gate for hanging your saw? I used to dangle my saw but pulling it back up can prove to be a chore. Do you like the Salewa repace boots? I have always loved the comfort of the original mountain trainer but feel the heel sits a little too far back for my spurs.

Boom. Another tree bites the dust or most likely to the slabbing mill for upselling, removed by the company that truly does NOT care. Good job Seattle Tree Doesn't Care. @@SeattleTreeCare You are, as always, missing the point of my comment. I can see the tree is dead but I am saying what I am saying after years of listening to your clients and other residents of Seattle who have interacted with you, tell me about the many times you and your arborists have scared homeowners into removing healthy trees that should never have been removed, through numerous unethical tactics and claims, which are either false or misleading and biased, I am telling the world (well saddoes that float around youtube) that despite the misleading name of your company, you do not care (about trees, just money). Not to mention, how many of these were strangely measured to be a fraction under the size threshold that would have meant they were protected by the City's tree codes. Large machines and large crews require large invoices, which means your recommendations should be questioned far more often than they are.

@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va It is used for those purposes because it would be “wasteful” to use “good” wood in places such as the interior of drawers, dressers etc. Poplar (usually aspen, not cottonwood like we have in the video) is a cheap, mostly undesirable wood that really isn’t good for much of anything other than pulp or being used as “interior” wood in furniture or as filler for a more desirable top veneer. There is more than enough of it floating around out there…it’s not necessary to save every piece of knarled, knotty wood from a tree like this.

    • @shawntrevordaniel

@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va this isn't the hardwood poplar on the east coast. This is PNW Lombardy poplar - the wood is super soft, super wet, and hardwood in name only. It's pretty much worthless.
