Thanks for this discussion. Have been doing daily TRE for about 8 years (about 17/7) Skipping breakfast. Black coffee and tea only. Never hungry, but have same experience as Prof. Mattson in that my mind seems sharper in the morning, and more calm. Overall more energy. I exercise in the morning. More recently I have been more strict with avoiding any food within 3 hours of sleep and found it helps improve sleep quite a bit, especially when combined with no alcohol. Eat almost completely plant based and near zero junk food. At 68 have excellent blood work, including liver and kidney function, and on no meds.
I have my feeding window because I do intermittent fasting from 12 till 8 PM as well but I only have an opportunity to exercise before 12 PM on the weekends because I own a childcare business so the rest of the time is done after 6 PM will I get any benefit from this? I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for about two years now. On the weekends, I only have a feeding window of four hours per day.
Excellent information!
