I'm pretty sure most big league pitchers use some sort of grip. It's very hard to increase spinrate with that slick of a baseball. You can grip it as tight as you can, but too hard, and there is no spin on the ball. That's why it's so effective to just have the tips of the fingers with some sort of grip because it takes more time for the ball to release, giving you more of a chance to spin the baseball as much as you can before release. You may be wondering why I said that, but oh well. TL; DR: people have been doing this for years, and while unfortunate as a pitcher, it is good for the game overall.

I was a batboy for the Columbus Clippers for 2 years, but let's say it is an MLB game. Multiple times I would grab a bat in a spot where there was pine tar for many reasons and get it on my hands. I would be sure not to get it on the balls going into the game, but what if I caught a ball from the catcher/umpire that got scuffed in the dirt, and I got pine tar on the ball. If the MLB examines the ball, does the pitcher get blamed for something the batboy did? I don't have time to wash my hands in between at bats. I hope you get to see this.

I also thought batters didn’t mind the use... for safety issues. Too many guys rushed up due to their mph... but can’t control their fastballs very well.
Would also like to know more about these "hall monitors". A few at every game? Both sides. Are the the same people at each stadium for the entire season? Do they rotate and travel like umps.
How much do they get paid for basically being pariahs? Talk about the easiest guys to bribe, by guys making millions.

Love learning so I’m about to subscribe.👍

Allow performance enhancing substances back into baseball. That includes P.E.D.’s and sticky fingers. Baseball will be better off for it. Won't any suspension just spend more time getting challenged and overturned than it's worth?

MLB hitters have publicly stated they are ok w/pitchers using pine tar, saying these guys all throw 100 now, so whatever gives them the ability to know where the ball is going, they’re all for. Hitters don’t want to be getting beaned (or fearing random beanballs) due to balls slipping out of a pitcher’s hand. That’s good enough for me. I’m w/Bauer. Allow it for everyone to level the field.

This is such an easy thing to deal with - umpires need to check when they suspect something, just like they did back in the knuckle ball and spitball days with Gaylord Perry and others.
Also, there is only one thing MLB needs to do at the moment - move the fences back like they were a few decades ago. The parks are too small.

MLB is only worried about their millions of $$$$$ in revenue.

No. The rise of substance didn't happen till the last 5 or so years and we didn't have crazy HBP numbers before. Pitchers want to throw strikes and if they are constantly overthrowing and walking/hitting batters than they will control themselves or get booted to AAA

Also it seems like most the attention seems to be on pitchers when it comes to rules and if rules are being broken. Whose to say bats aren’t being tampered with, if you take balls out of the game to be checked then why not take bats from different players throughout the season or gather up bats from each team during a season and check for tampering, then there’s the argument of how to prove of any tampering.

MLB needs to add some rules from the Savanah Bananas. Specifically the 3rd strike dropped ball rule. Every player has to touch the ball before its live. So players can make it all the way to 3rd if they're fast enough.

I guess the way with rule #2 breaks down would be this-
If you have one or two balls tested and they come back with a foreign substance, that could be attributed to other players . If after a game, a dozen balls come back, all with the same substance from one pitcher, that’s the red flag.
