I got to say everytime I see it. I think it's so cool that you add in little fact checks in your videos.
Most people are okay with just saying shit they think is right rather than taking the time to edit in the correct information. That's why this podcast is a cut above the rest.
In an age of misinformation I want to applaud you for putting in that extra effort.

I think about this all the time as a native American. The majority of the federally recognized tribes, which is around 500, are sovereign, which means there are technically 500 potential micro governments exist within the US, and they struggle to build they're economies. But also have 3rd world level living even tho its us. Like Detroit man, the struggle to find stability. But its hard to do so since we have very little representation and the representation that exists is generalized and used to sell things rather then for understanding. It sucks being the super minority in your own homeland dude.

As an American it’s really easy to forget about other countries and how they are governed. So, it was really cool to see his view point of how they see America and how his country deals with poverty and the prison system. This was an interesting episode!!

In Canada we have something called the LCBO and beer store which is owned by the government. Very similar in the way that if you want hard liquor or certain wines and the liquors and beer you would go there grocery stores we just started introducing a beer section which is completely strange to me.

I don't get what cancelling Hamilton (the play) will do anyways? Are people watching it and thinking that people are going to get the wrong ideas of what the real Hamilton was like? Maybe people should've canceled Lincoln (the movie) or any show or movie that shows the founding fathers in a positive light if that's the logic we're going with. Also people are getting mad now lol?

Had no idea that this was such a foreign concept/idea to Americans. Growing up in New Zealand and Australia there are people living off of Welfare and Centrelink everywhere. Even my own family went into gov housing for a few years until we got our shit together. Along with Meidcare. Can't imagine life without these things

I really don't know how I feel about it. I guess the reason why they wish to cancel it is because "theyre supporting a racist historic figure who promoted slavery" but, almost every historic figure dealt in slavery because it is our ancestors. Slavery was so integrated in society back then but that does overshadow the fact that some of them were against it. Even George Washington had slaves, even if they treated them well, will Americans burn Washington D.C to the ground? Or change the name of Washington D.C??

I’m half middle eastern and filipino and I live in Sweden, it was very interesting to hear what your friend had to say. It was a bit sad that he couldn’t answer the questions you had fully but ofc that’s understandable from what he explained. I feel like topic about BIPOC and racism here in Sweden is very interesting as immigration didn’t happen gradually, we often talk about it as a “immigration wave” during politics. I would also explain Sweden’s culture to be very passive, and as he said, focused on the individual then as a group. A LOT of things have changed since the time he’s been out of Sweden. Some people would argue that they’ve dealt with racism their whole life, and some none at all. Due to the culture being passive it is VERY common for white people to not wanting to talk about it, like it doesn’t apply to them. The racism is also why it is not often direct. But there are some known facts like people with a middle eastern last name has it harder to get a job. Because of this passive culture it adds to the segregation, causing gangs and honor killings to rise. To the point that the police ha given up. There are hoods, and particularly one in Malmö, where the police have lost their control over the gangs that they’re being blocked on the streets with cars from entering the hood. Anyways I don’t even know if I was clear but I hope it gave some info :) Keep it up! Been following you for 8yrs and still not tired of your content!

2:20 when David was talking about the host and the Russian guy asking why isn't he racist, why wouldn't he want to preserve his culture and people. was a very interesting concept . Because I feel like its totally relatable. Not that we should be racist but the fact that places were taken over by other countries and the history and language of these places are slowly dying out. For example hawaii and guam. 😞 so in a way I get where theyre coming from. But still, people are people.

Random note and slightly unrelated, but Lana Del Rey is often "criticized" for getting her start from her parents and they assume she came from a rich family (her mom was a school teacher, he dad was a carpenter-turned-domain investor) , but there's not actually proof of that- people just assumed based on her image and brand. The closest connection she had was a an uncle who secured her place at a boarding school (which she got sent to for drinking problems). She did have support and help from her parents, but most of what her haters say is pretty exaggerated and they somehow try to paint this image that she's from this very wealthy family that tries tricking people into thinking she grew up poor. The issue I have isn't just her "criticizers" but some of these people will call her a racist, but will turn around and use a slave reference towards any black girl that doesn't hate on her lol. But Bezos and all these other guys get a lump sum from his parents, but we're supposed to believe he started from the streets? Sensing a double standard...

I enjoyed hearing your perspectives on generational wealth. I never knew Bill Gates had help from his mom. He also snuck out of his house every night from middle school to high school from like 10 pm to 4 am without his parents knowing to learn how to code. Even if I had the extra help from a parent, I doubt I would've had that dedication. Seems like that type of success is a combination really hard work and luck since they were born in that situation. There is still a lot of work to do to help give more people opportunities to succeed. Changed my perspective

The reason people wre saying defund the police is if you look at a lot of city budgets the police budget makes up like 45% of the entire budget. The LAPD gets 3.14 BILLION in funding and they're still asking for more while the budget for education is less than a third of that and across america the funding for education is being defunded constantly so people are asking why can you justify cutting funding to education and social services and not the police? Plus theres almost no evidence that putting more money into police makes things safer, but there's plenty of evidence the says putting more money into education and social services does.

For Jeff Bezos to even have a garage to work out of is still something, in a good neighbourhood and in a first world country at that. And of course funding from his parents to start his project/company too. People like to market or up sell themselves and their self made stories all the time to achieve their goal. Branding and image is everything. But you know who are actually genuine about it and can actually prove it, the real ones. People hear success stories and forget to look at the over all arching picture and reality.

That Zee guy said he felt more comfortable around other Asians because that what he’s used to and familiar with. Well, that’s what most white people think as well. All western countries are experiencing huge waves of immigration that are changing so much of the culture that they don’t like. In the next 50 years or so, countries like the USA and UK are set to become minority non white. So of course there going to be upset. You guys come from ethnically homogenous countries that will never have deal with any of these problems.
