I have a Citizen aviation style Eco-Drive watch that is 1 month shy of delivering 7 years of hassle free performance. It’s been my daily wear for about 99% of the time for that whole 7 years. It keeps very accurate time and has never let me down.
i want to buy just 1 watch and wear it forever, its going to be a CITIZEN ECO-DRIVE.
I bought an older one of these about 10 yrs ago. The only thing that wore out was the strap. I lived in the ocean with it on. Super durable! It sat for a few years until I bought a red replacement strap. I wear it in the pool daily in the summer. Great watches! Love the green bezel!
I own several Citizens, many of which are Promasters. Best watch for the money. Two of my watches are over 20 years old, many pushing 20 years old. All running great. I've never had a problem with a Citizen. They're great watches.

I love Citizen Eco-drives. I have 5 in my collection now, about to pick up a 6th soon. I think I might have to get one of these, too. It's such a good look with that bezel. Also, the only time I have ever had to replace a capacitor on one was a used one I purchased that had been stored in the dark for years. If you keep them at least a little charged, they last for an insanely long time. My oldest Eco-drive watch is almost 18 years old now, and still runs like a champ on its original capacitor.
Just bought this Pro Diver Green Bezel. It looks fabulous with the Green Bezel which really makes it stand out. A really heavy and solid watch with great build quality. I also have a Citizen Pro Diver Eco-Drive which has been running non stop for 9 years without a problem. Great watches

I own the blue version of this watch and it has been great. Out of the box, the QC is better than Seiko.
Was never a fan of these until now, they did a great job with the case and bezel!
Japanese brands are awesome. Grand Seiko, Seiko, Orient, Casio and Citizen all produce superb timepieces.

I got the one with the green dial and bezel, it's a wonderful watch and I LOVE IT.
I've had a black one of these for a couple years now. I love everything about it except the matte watch face. I know it makes it read easier but it just dulls it down for me... but I still haven't regretted the purchase, its great for swapping straps and has impeccable lume 👍🏿

Great review as always Teddy. I've had the blue version, BN0151-09L for about 3 years, spectacular watch, wears much smaller, as you said, due to the short turned down lugs especially on someone with a smaller wrist size.
The lume is not only the best in the price segment but has perhaps the best lume of any watch, outside of tritium, something that should be acknowledged. Jody from Just One More Watch has this up against the Rolex Deepsea and it edged it out, so hats off to Citizen for value and performance.
This watch is a beauty..... luv the brushed finish and the overall visual.

Great video. Glad Citizen is getting some likes. I have the green dial, green bezel version of this watch on a very good metal bracelet for it's price point (solid end links, milled clasp and ratchet extension). I think it compares well to the Seiko Solar Tuna, it may not have the iconic name but with a signed crown a good bracelet and at a cheaper price point it offers much better value.

I own the original black version and I consider it my "lonely island watch". It looks a bit clunky, almost toy-like, but it's a totally functional, perfectly built and finished, no-nonse, dependable, believable tool watch (just like its auto ancestor NY0040 which is still available and highly recommended). Due to its small dial it wears indeed smaller than the case size suggests, and I can just pull it off with my 175 mm wrist. Not an ideal daily wearer (too bulky to me) but an awesome leisure watch for €150.
I like this. Happy to see some a model that has a bezel a different color than the dial. Some of the others are just too much of one color - especially the green and red ones

I have this one in blue. And my wife has the matching ladies version. Both are great looking and have really nice features. It is also my third Eco-Drive, which is such a convenient power source that I now find myself avoiding automatic watches. Really cool affordable watch.

I have this one, I call it my Splinter Cell. I also have the gold case/black bezel with red minute hand. Eco drive is awesome, Lume is better than most. I recommend them. Would like a sapphire crystal but hey
That's a great color combo. They've got others that work well too. I've never had a solar. This might be the one that hooks me.
it’s great, i have it in black. but i had to buy thin fat tip spring bars to change straps (1.8mm bars with 1.1mm tips) because the stock bars are too thick to use on the aftermarket fkm strap i got for it.
I love mine, classic blue model, i might get this anyway, i love green.

I have a few Citizen Eco Drive watches and I must say they all keep very good time, in most cases well within the 15 seconds a month. Most of mine are ~six to eight years old. I have yet to get a Citizen diver though so maybe in the future I'll remedy that. I'm not a fan of the PVD coating on the bezel though as that it's arguably the most likely part of the watch to suffer a ding. Having said that being black reduces the overall presence of the watch. The green insert looks pretty well done as well. I'm still not a fan of a date at four but at this price point I could over look that. The camera work just goes to show that you don't have to spend silly money for a reasonable finish at this price point either.

Just a note on the "ND Limits" printed on the black and blue versions: Q-Tip or cotton swab and some 50% rubbing alcohol will remove the printing without damage to the rubber strap/band. So it can be easily removed if desired and still looks new without damage. To be humorous, I'm sure some high proof whiskey, gin or tequila will also work 🍸🥃👍
Citizen still makes amazing watch as a diver I’ve been using them for 20 years . I definitely don’t take my Rolexes to my dives

I love my Citizen Calibre 5681 but this could be the next Citizen I buy.
Just make a sapphire version and this watch will be the very best. I manage to scrach mine quite a lot.
For those interested and not mentioned in the video, for BN0150 lovers including this new colorway bezel, one of the best aspects of this watch not everybody knows about is the 'factory' stainless oyster strap with 'sliding clasp for microadjustability' available only in the Japanese market. The strap isn't cheap but I found one on line and retrofitted it to the US export BN0150 with black dial and honestly, its a superior SKX007 that you don't have to wind and is much more accurate. Bracelet length can be adjusted on the go for maximum comfort. The bracelet is special beyond that as well...very rounded edges, uber comfortable. This dive watch with the Japanese stainless factory strap is one of my favorites in my collection I have had for about 4 years now. Teddy is right about it wearing much smaller than its size. My wrist is 6.75 in and looks perfect. Not an overally heavy watch with stainless strap either. The factory rubber straps I find that comes on this watch is very poor in stark contrast. Even if you stay rubber, replace the strap would be my suggestion with a softer more flexible strap.
The bracelet version was available in Europe too.

I have a 6.25" wrist and somehow I can pull off the 44mm eco drive promaster diver. Love that watch, its an SKX killer, everything lines up, QC is good and its thin. Just can't beat it.
CItizen Promaster dive watches are top-notch. My only frustration with the brand is their emphasis on quartz watches while doing few automatics. When they do release automatics they are usually well done but very expensive.
I just want to back up what you said about it not wearing as large as the dimensions suggest. I have a 6 1/4" wrist, and I just measured my Promaster diver at 43.9 mm. I'm quite self conscious about oversized watches. This one looks good on me. But when I take a picture it does look oversized. Someone told me that was because I was taking pictures with my phone.
Great review. This watch will be my next addition to my collection. Although Citizen is not a favorite for most watch enthusiasts,, its hard not to appreciate the reliability of the eco-drive watches. Great value and great quality.

The capacitor as long as you keep it charged are know to last forever. If you let it go dead yes you might not get lucky and hold a charge again. I keep mine in the window even if I don’t wear it for a year .

My wife bought me one for our 1 year anniversary, I had let her known it’s one I was after and I’m loving it. The colour looks fantastic, impressed with the overall look, I unfortunately have thin wrists but it does look great on and not oversized at all. Only qualm is the second hand ticks over every two seconds, the second hand does line up as it should though 😅
It’s supposed to tick at 2 seconds when it’s on low power. Try leaving it in the sun for 2 days
I have one citizen and unlike it a lot ...it's been 10.years since I bought it and still solid....the battery still good since it's solar
I just got mine in blue..... I got it from Amazon off Prime Day ..it's a bummer that the second hand skips a indices ..so I'll try to exchange it.

Teddy, did citizen completely eliminate the text on the rubber straps for these? They are not coming on the black versions either these days, it seems.
Citizen know their quartz movements. Eco Drive is the peak of affordable quartz. I can even hear my Eco-Drive being more refined than my Swiss quartz. The Swiss movement has a clearly audible tick, wasting energy. The Eco-Drive though is silent when I put it to the ear. Not to mention the Swiss ETA quartz has had to be replaced twice in five years because it’s to fragile for my sporty lifestyle near the Arctic circle. (No kidding. Luckily my AD has replaced it for free both times). The eco drive though. So efficient. So robust. Citizen knows how to do their movements.
I wish the there's a Swiss microbrand that's just like Wenger & Citizen in terms of price, quality, under the Swatch Group, ETA gearbox, 200m dive watches, threaded chronograph buttons, hardlex crystal.
If it's under the Swatch group it won't be a microbrand. Hardlex is a Seiko patented material; sapphire would be preferable anyway.

There is a nearly identical auto which is the venerable NY0040 (black, other colors available). It is still easily available from Europe.

Stunning for sure. Wow. Citizen is not known for its dials like seiko right? I’ve not been impressed with mine. The red dial on my citizen diver looks just like a red piece of generic plastic. I’m selling the watch because of this. Wish that weren’t so. Citizen your so close!!!
Same feelings here.
Citizen delivers good quality watches, but their design an color choices leave me wanting.
Seiko on the other hand, their designs are more attractive to me and they have some stunning dials in the line-up.
If only they would step up their QC.
Regarding this watch: it’s a quality piece.
I owned the BN0150-61e on the magnificent bracelet for half a year.
It is very wearable, fit and finish is impeccable.
Lume is superb, accuracy was very good, it left an 1100€ Tissot T-Touch biting the dust.
If only it wasn't so big. I just have never like big watches. 38mm and I would buy one. I may chose a Seiko diver which is smaller.

The crystal can get scratched easily otherwise a cheap solid watch.
+/- 15 seconds/month? Mine is +/- 0 seconds for first week. Best stand alone timekeeper ever. Just killed radio and GPS regulated pieces.

Recently bought this model, based largely on Teddy’s and the reviews of others. My only negative in the date wheel seated very low in the case.
Most dates are small on divers

That watch is screaming outloud fir a green seconds hand. If you can talk to to Citizen people, let them know. I purchased the pepsi since my best friend ripped the blue one from my wrist.
