Patricia has the look of someone who knows a secret or two. But man I totally missed this scene. I’m 50 years old and I guess I lived a sheltered life growing up three hours north of LA. But it’s never to late to discover and enjoy great music.
i'm 16 and discovered them a couple months ago, as i was looking into Jack White and his inspirations. Apparently he loves The Gun Club lol. I don't know how far you went down the rabbit hole, but i recommend you listen to the first two albums in their entirety, as they're both masterpieces in my opinion.
@@ok9908Good for you for your quest for great music. I am in the middle of listening to their first album. Jeffery is an amazing singer. I love his vulnerability and his delivery. How this band didn’t take over the scene is beyond me.
@@jcdova29 I guess they simply weren't as presentable to the mainstream with their unique sound and lyrics, considering the occasional racial slurs thrown into the mix lol. By the way, the Gun Club's ex-guitarist, Kid Congo Powers, is on tour in europe at the moment with his band 'Kid Congo and The Pink Monkey Birds', you might wanna look into that, as they do play some Gun Club covers. Their original material is also awesome but a lot more surfy sounding than the Gun Club.
@@ok9908 JLP is well recognized as a rare "creative genius" amongst musicians. Too raw and powerful for the more typical taste, though. I adore his lyricism, intellectual clarity, the emotional power in his vocals and his musical expression. Mother Juno is awesome as well. The later work is difficult to enjoy, grim and melancholic.
What I say you cannot hear it so, you intrude upon my dreams and hate my appearance, Who gave you the right to give out the rights? and to intrude upon My Dreams and sell out my eyes, You can't take My Dreams You can't take My Dreams You can't take and steal from this body... I never get a chance in the airport sick in bathroom with Your Dreams and a flight to nowhere, In Victoria, Gare du' Nord (du) and Tompkin's Square You're standing on My Dreams and you don't care, You can't take My Dreams You can't take My Dreams You can't take and steal from this body... A heartbeat tears my insides apart and tears apart My Dreams in the whirling dark, I never got to go I cannot make it I never get to have Dreams and I will not take it, You can't take My Dreams You can't take My Dreams You can't take and steal from this body... They were supposed to be MY DREAMS...
Unfortunately I don't have any more restored Gun Club material, I'm trying to restore some personal tapes I have and as soon as they're ready I'll let you know.
No Patricia = No "Floodland " = No Classic /Milestone Sisters of Mercy heritage ...in sum :this woman might as well take credit for being at the forefront of the European Goth scene in the 80s ...a Muse she will always be !

How lucky was I to see them once here in Serbia, think it was 1990
OMG that is so cool. I bet his voice just echoed throughout the club. Who was playing with him.
@@jcdova29 Kid Congo Powers, Patricia, as I remember
Their best lineup imo.

you cannot hear it

You're standing on My Dreams
and you don't care,
You can't take My Dreams
You can't take My Dreams
You can't take and steal from this body...
