- Ritesh Lakhi discusses the eventology ahead of Asian games 1982 as Dharam Yudh Morcha by Akalis dangled upon the prestigious games being hosted by India. How filibuster and other dilatory tactics were employed by Indira Gandhi and her advisors to finally frustrate the Akalis fizzling out their attempts to thwart International Event in Delhi.
This monologue by Ritesh Lakhi goes on to explain the behind the scenes action aimed at keeping Akalis under restraint as Indira Govt attempted to extend the negotiations and buy time ahead of crucial Asian games.
Akalis finally decided to boycott and oppose the Asian games fortnight before the games were set to begin paving way for massive crackdown of agitationists all across the Akali and Sikh spectrum. Haryana especially saw heavy handed and humiliating treatment of Sikh protestors passing through it to reach Delhi. The situation was somehow curtailed as Asian games went off well amidst heavy deployment of forces to ward off any protests. However the short-sighted success in thwarting Akalis from active protest against game was a fairly limited gain once one considers the colletaral damage in the succeeding months culminating in Operation Blue Star.

Sardar swadan singh himself did not know that he was being used by indira gandhi to delay the matter, he was genuinely trying to reach a peaceful solution which was reached also but at the end moment centre govt. went back on the decided agreement.
So thats why he refused to get involved in further talks.

Who lead the people to delhi? Who lead this mourcha? It was state problem. Anandpur Resolution. But akali propoke people. They bycat Indian Aisa n games. Ritesh ji this video is a farce, it wasn't just the akalis who were banned from entering delhi, please if you do want to make truthful presentation then speak the truth, stop pussy footing with the facts. Every Sikh going to delhi was humiliated by the bhajan lal government, it was not only people coming from Punjab but people coming from abroad were stopped at the airport and ordered to return to the country they had came from. I know this because I was there and we had to convince the police that we are here on holiday and going to haryana and we don't even what is going on in India, Every Sikh was searched and humiliated in front of other people and this was happening in our own country, This was happening to the people who gave 92% of the total qurbani for the independence, to free India. And this was how the Sikhs were repaid. And if you really do want to be seen as a truthful journalist? Make a video about the Anandpur sahib resolution, show the world what the Sikhs were demanding that Indra Gandhi couldn't grant.
