    I just got off my 2021 CB 500x half an hour ago - after a short 100 km ride along the south coast of Western Australia. I checked my fuel consumption which, over 22,500 km (14,000 mile), reads 3.4L/100 km (83 Pommy miles to the gallon) which, with its 17.7 Litre (3.89 gal) tank will take me 520 km (323 miles). That's awesome in anybody's language. I was so impressed with my first CB 500X (a 2015 model - black with a yellow stripe) which I rode 29,000 km that I upgraded to my current 2021 model (gorgeous red tank, larger front wheel, different dash, etc) on which I've now ridden another 22,500 km.
    The Honda CB 500X is an absolutely awesome machine - smooth, comfortable (I've never experienced ANY issues with vibration), reliable, incredibly economical and super versatile. I ride about 1/3 off road in the bush (not technical stuff) and the rest on the black top. On the open road when travelling any great distances I sit on about 110km/hr (@ 70 mph) all day. Three months ago I completed a four day 2,000 km ride and at no time felt saddle sore. She never missed a beat. I also agree with another comment - 500 cc is ample for the type of riding for which this motorbike is designed.
    It is frequently referred to as the Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles and I reckon that description sums it up perfectly. It's without a doubt the most impressive and enjoyable motorcycle I've ridden in my 50 years of riding ... and I can't see myself wanting to change it any time soon.
    I really enjoyed your video. I know a few Mancunians. Having long ago travelled in (cycled through) Old Blighty and later living in Surrey for a year, in some ways I envy you the great diversity that can be experienced riding in such a small area. 😊🦘

    The CB500X does NOT vibrate and is not JUDDERY,it rides smooth with a slight vibration through the pegs between 3800 to 4000rpm but that smooths out after some 2000miles.It's also smooth at motorway speeds of 70 to75mph.
    I've 35,000miles on the three I've owned.A great underrated bike that does everything you need a bike to do.
    If it has a fault it's the suspension being underdamped,something that's been solved on the front with the Showa USD fork but a better rear shock makes all the difference.That said it only shows up when the bike is pushed throught the twisties,ridden a little more conservatively it's hardly noticable.The twin front discs on the front has also sharpened up the braking though the single front disc was adequate.

      Not slating the bike it's brilliant, believe it I have had 3 cbf500 which these bikes are built on, it can be road surface or tyres that make the difference, but the vibes I got through the bike were honest, If I didn't have the NC ye I would buy one, and there no saying I on't in the future, like I always say it's not gospel it's only my own view, and you love riding yours which is what it's all about👍👍👍

    Great review, you summed it up nicely. I've got a 500X here in Cape Town and absolutely love it. It goes offroad like a demon too, it just about does it all.. fantastic bike. Keep up the great work. 🙂👍🏻🇿🇦

    I also found the 500x a little buzzy at 100kph but also the speedo is out by 4kph at 100. I replaced the tyres for more off road and went to a 150/70 rear, this fixed the speedo error and also the buzz at 100 as it now comes on at 104.

      @@birchwoodbiker Cars are never 10% out, and that's no possible since speedos don't work like that. They are usually 2/3mph out consistently no matter the speed.

    I've got a 2023 love the bike got a nice big bike feel to it for tall riders like me but I have 1 complaint the SEAT!! After 20 miles in the saddle my Bum goes Knum. Worst seat ever experienced which is a shame spoils the fun :-(

    Sorry, I'm Mr Out of Touch here, but when I younger, a 500cc motorbike was not considered a 'little bike'. I've watched several videos about this Honda, and all the commentators talk of it being 'an ideal first bike' or ' a nice little bike'. It will do over 100mph. What on earth is a big bike then?

      @glyngreenwood8377 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I absolutely agree, they talk of 500 cc as a beginner bike or small bike. 750cc was classed as a big bike, how perceptions have changed. I've just bought this bike, downsized and what a lovely machine in most respects, sits at 70 /80 cruising, just completed 600 mile break in and showing 94.4 mpg! Wow. Should suit my touring needs well. I think this may be a keeper

      @@mickmacman Seven years ago I 'downgraded' to a Honda CB 500x from a BMW K1200 RS which I'd not long before ridden from Perth to Broome in Western Australia and return (4,000 km return/@ 50 hours riding ), and I wish I'd instead ridden it on my Honda - it would have been far more comfortable - and nimble off road. See my previous comment today which will give you my feedback on this machine (in the event you are considering buying one). 😊🦘
