I was in the audience and, in that moment, we all felt an huge energy and we sung along with Surie! She had an amazing recover after this stage invasion and she was great. On television you can't see and feel half of what we, audience, saw and felt. We all supported her, and she did it greatly!
People felt it watching at home. My friends and I were watching in Czech Republic and we all said, "it's nice but forgettable" before the stage-invasion. Afterwards, we all voted for the UK! SuRie made everyone feel it. I swear, if the juries voted on the live final, instead of the night before, the UK would have had many 12s thrown their way and would've finished top 15, if not top 10.
I remember seeing this live on TV and feeling overwhelmingly proud of her when she picked the microphone back up and naturally continued. If anything, the stage intrusion only made her performance stronger as you can tell that she becomes more passionate about the song, and there’s an obvious feeling of unity as the crowd sings with her (you can hear the crowd continuing the song for her at 1:52 while the singer is still retrieving the microphone). It’s beautiful.
I watched the American streaming :( and my stream slowed down because so many ppl were typing out a million a minute and I was watching 30 seconds behind so my reaction was delayed. "NOOOOO! SURIE!!!!! KILL HIM WITH THE MIC!" I received strange looks that day.

Mai Nem oh I wish so. Nevertheless, I still love the UK despite the storms (can't resist) it experiences right now. I wish your country the best of luck in these dark times.
I honestly don't think that the low points are due to Britain leaving the EU. The jury are usually artists themselves (at least in my country) and they should know better and put another fellow artist above politics. When listening to the song the first time I was also not very impressed, but somehow it gets better the more often you hear it. Some of the other countries just had catchier songs and really believe that's the reason Britain scored so low. And no doubt Surie is a good performer and deserves respect for pushing through even when visibly shaken.
2018 was an insanely strong year. There were so many good songs, that it was honestly hard voting for the UK in comparison to so many other good performances. I do have great respect for SuRie, and the UK should be utmost proud of her! :)

It seemed that the Singer was giving up, but in this scenario, she picked up the microphone from the floor and continued! In the Arena they all happened to be Surie, UK. It was beautiful ... it was amazing ... it was creepy! Only those who lived this moment can testify. Congratulations to the Eurovision spirit !! Congratulations from Portugal!

Molly Tottenhammar but as it goes to show, with what happened to her and the fact it is a very good song, they still scored us so low, it’s obvious just how much the UK is hated in Europe

I come back to this every now and then. I get chills and almost cry every time. The power and meaning behind the song just comes even more clear when she just owns that stage after that annoying person comes up. Sooooo much respect and appreciation for SuRie
The professional jury gave 26 points, all countries together, what good song you are talking about? Is funny, this year, many songs was appreciated by jury and public vote as well. Is really annoying because UK is one of the big player, but don't invest in a proper preselection. The one from Brighton was a cheap pageant contest. Instead blaming everybody else, do something and improve. This contest is about songs, not Brexit, crap. You have a rubbish song you don't get high, is simple.
Bless Surie, she truly did the UK proud with her professionalism and strength when this happened. Such a shame this individual felt the need to try and ruin her performance, luckily she was clearly spurred on to perform her soul out by the end. So unfair to such a sweetheart who clearly has embraced the show and been kind to everyone. I hope this does not dampen her Eurovision experience.
Ann-Christine Nilsson haha we have let it go lol, the UK is fully aware we won’t win again or at least not for many years to come anyway as the voting’s so political nowadays and everyone votes for their neighbouring countries, even if the performance is awful, and we’re an island so we don’t stand a chance from that viewpoint, even if we put someone famous in lol, we wouldn’t stand a chance. I was just hoping she’d get more points than what she did as I think the performance was one of the better ones of the night lol (and I’m not just saying that because I live in the UK), I don’t think it was the best performance but definitely one of the better ones but oh well lol. She did do amazing to carry on after that so well done to her
Agree Surie recovered amazingly well after the stage invasion, but this was most certainly not a "winner worthy" entry 😅 It was as bland and inoffensive as pretty much everything the UK has sent post 2000.
Lovely of you to say 😁 Denmark, beautiful country I want to go back one day. I actually enjoyed your Viking themed group even if not many others did, they where in my top 5 👍🏻
5 years later and I still get chills seeing SuRie with her fist high in the sky singing "don't give up". In that brief moment I thought. My god we're gonna win this. Obviously we didn't, but I had so much love for her after that. Glorious
23rd but yet it was the only song that you could actually hear the crowd singing too and enjoying 😒 Really didn’t deserve that, she did the United Kingdom proud, you’re our winner SuRie ❤️
There's a may? If you're going to make ridiculous comments and assumptions, at least write them correctly. The last time I looked, Theresa May didn't start any wars that led to the deaths of millions of innocent people in a country that has nothing to do with the UK, and not to mention that Jellybean Carboot is the biggest laughing stock of UK politicians on the world stage in the 21st century, but what has that got to do with it? Israel won and neither the country nor Binyamin Netanyahu would win any international popularity votes, would they? The fact is that this song sounded too much like Avicii's 'Hey Brother' and even the first two words were that. It was never in with a chance of anything but a plagiarism lawsuit.
The weird thing about this performance is that I thought it got SO MUCH BETTER after that jumper got on stage, because she sang her heart out after that! :)
Gagging Mott The song was a car crash but maybe that guy jumping on stage helped her out since she may have got a bit more sympathy from the public which prevented her from finishing last
It looked like the incident gave her a shot of adrenaline, she looked strong, determined and performed well afterwards. Not a great fan of the song itself but hey I voted for her, she deserved more votes. Respect
it actually matches the song. she sent the message "live your dream, don't let an interruption or a storm mess you up. hold the heads together (the audience) and carry yourselfs through together". she rocked. bravo from austria.
Dear SuRie, i want to give you a huge round of applause for your strength to carry on with your performance after all that happend on stage. Do not let such a bad thing to ruin your career. You were a truly amazing tonight. Just to know, there are people who are proud of you outside of UK!! * * *
Graham Norton going “not sure what they’re going to do now” kills me every time😂 Props to her for carrying on though. I’m glad they gave her the option to perform again, even if she didn’t take it❤️
I think she made the right choice. She would almost certainly have got less points from the televoters than she did if she had insisted on performing again.

1:40 min. Surie has shown to be a professional, as in 2010 was Daniel Diges. He has even sung with more force than ever. It's marvelous! 😍 Unfair position! 😞 A kiss from Spain! ❤️
That was really professional. When I watched the ESC yesterday evening, I first didn't even recognize what was going on there because she stayed so cool... Congratulations to Great Britain and such a good song with this professional and great singer. =)
Laura Fraser the poise she had after that amazing I was watching it on tv in America & I was like " Surie...grab ur stuff & leave its bout to be Scream the movie up in there but like a real boss she HANDLED THAT
I was watching this live from Australia, and when the commentators saw this they called him and I quote, "a complete cockhead". Count on us Aussies to swear on live TV at some injustice.
Lasagne man Australia is competing because we have supported Eurovision for years and years now. We watch it just as much as the other countries in Europe, and we are one of its biggest fans, supporting it greatly throughout the years. That's why we are performing. I bet the other countries have a legitimate reason for competing too.
If Finland would have those better, old commentators (now we have that one shitty commentator who is so salty that Saara didn't won, hah) they probably would react same way. :D
Chimera XDX ffs. Calm your tits mate. It's not my problem that your pissed over one country who's been supporting this for ages. Why would Eurovision even let us compete if it was just for the money? That wouldn't make any sense.
I 'm glad to "hear" that :) In my opinion, the best song of us was the one that won in 2005 with Elena Paparizou (number one). I like the fact that through one European competition we all can show our "thing" like tradition, culture, etc. The music must unite the world despite the differences between people :)
THIS WOMAN IS AN INSPIRATION. I can’t stop watching this, she came back with power and a beautiful message behind her song, absolute queen SuRie. Appalled she didn’t win
Having watched her jury performance and her final performance one after the other, it's notable how much of a weird kind of boost that event happening did to her performance. You can see the adrenaline and the way she urges the crowd on to support her - which they duly do. It's really an amazing moment of defiance against adversity, regardless of where she eventually finished.
The UK has never been 'popular' and frankly we don't give a flying f*** what you think of us because being 'popular' is for nerds and teenagers. At least we have the balls to get out of the travesty called the EU, which is run by unelected fat cats and makes a mockery of democracy.
Rob Adam - The “big five”, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and UK all automatically qualified for the final as they made the biggest financial contribution to the contest. I mean surely we can put our money somewhere better ? Like the NHS for one
For me she was the real winner of the night! Her determination to finish her song and the look in her eyes when she said 'don't give up' was amazing and the audience reaction was bloody brilliant!! To be clear she had 3 backing singers to the side of the stage who carried on singing whilst the drama unfolded, no miming took place as against EBU rule ALL vocals must be live on the night and Sure you did your country proud!
So please explain how the Beyoncé lookalike was allowed to miss all her high notes, so she could flick her hair about whilst a male substitute was hitting the notes backstage?
How? Should I get my tin foil hat on. We expect to lose every year and see it as a joke. The UK have produced the best and biggest selling rock bands in the world, unlike anyone else in Eurovision
europeans must not being looking favorably on UK leaving EU.. cos otherwise you would have thought either UK or Ire should win this with good songs that would also be able to pick up the obvious sympathy vote..
THANK YOU intruder.......sheeple are still asleep........... they give over dosed sugar/chemical stuff to their children and call it "treats"..... we need to wake up......money printing out of thin air..... banks are rigging our system every year and no one give a dam.
The audience's reaction is amazing. "Ah, hell no, we ain't gonna let him fuck this up! Ok, everybody, dance your asses off! And sing! SING!" And the way SuRie handles it is amazing! For all she knew, her life could have been in danger, but as soon as she could, she kept going. That's professionalism. I take my hat off to you, SuRie.
It really feels like SuRie gets strengthened by the incident and the lyrics sounds even more important after that with "spread your love". Power, big respect and BIG LOVE!
Still watching this today. I remember seeing this on TV. When she started to sing again, I got goosebumps and started crying when the performance was over. What a person SuRie is. Hats off to you
Proud to say I met this courageous true professional and beautiful lady at Conchita's gig at London Palladium. You deserved a better place. Both, song & performance were brilliant! And the recovery... Much love & respect from Germany!
Hats off to her for carrying on and the strength she showed in the power of song when she continued that nothing can break her!! Proud of her and loved the audience singing along and in the place when the mic was taken from her!! Well done SuRie!! ❤️
br3menPT even so, he couldve very easily assaulted her without a weapon, possibly the stolen microphone if he really wanted to. he was onstage without security for a while, im just glad he only decided to steal the mic and shout into it
I remember seeing this on tv and being extremely proud that she carried on singing for our country even after the incident at 1:52 well SuRie I’m always supporting you ❤️🇬🇧
Thank you BBC for daring to publish the video of the real action of the United Kingdom. It's a shame as Eurovision Song Contest tries to censor his performance by publishing on Friday's official channel the performance on Friday instead of the original on Saturday. From here, give all possible support to SuRie and tell her that her transformation at the end of the song will be remembered forever. The strength with which it ends has taught us that the worst in the world can make us stronger in life. Thank you SuRie for everything, you deserve a better position without a doubt.
Gay Saylor So you see, that's how polish people feel. We choose diffrent goverment, wish to have a right to punish those who lie and blackmail our proud history and what...? We are called Nazis. All for choosing to preserve our culture. What an irony, calling Polish people Nazis.
I think it's completely understandable that they decided to upload the fridays performance instead of original. How would you as a performer feel if every time people watched your performance, they couldn't listen to the full song and kept focusing and giving power to that stupid man, instead of focusing on her. She doesn't deserve to be remembered for a sabotaged act, but for her song and her performance. Do not give the man the power.
Bookmakers and their odds who manipulate the audience's attention through the orientation drawn by the media to certain songs are the cancer that needs to get eliminated.
Her backing vocalists and the audience carried her trought so she could resume. Extremely professional performance. I really liked UK's song this year and I hope they really punish that activist. I disslike that people bring politics into a singing contest, but thats not really new but still disslike it. SuRies in my top 5 and UK still are one of my favorite countries. /From Sweden.
Magnus Carlsson LMAO singing contest. Thats why Izrael won. LUL not politics at all. Same Ukraine few years ago. They just got invaded by putin and instantly won the contest. With the "viewers voting" system ut is actually so easy fake results. They give points but how the fuck can we know if they are correct?
I was in front of the standing area there. It was my first eurovision so i was a little shocked when a random man came to SuRie to steal her microphone. But all the nice people around me all sang along and calmed me down, and we danced, jumped and sang with SuRie to encourage her. What followed was the continuation of a super performance. It was honestly the most beautiful moment of the evening, at least for me it was. She also got the loudest applause of the evening! A standing ovation!
Moments like this make Me proud to be British !!! wow. She carried on like the pro she is. So much respect for this strong woman , no doubt it scared the crap out of her !!! xx WELL DONE SURIE
defianse121 they have live backstage backing singers. You can tell that Surie herself wasn't singing at that time just by listening. What they'll have done was boost the levels of the singer singing the main melody along with Surie.
6 years later, still one of my favourite moments of Eurovision : the strength she received from the crown was incredible , it made it even more powerful and she is FABULOUS!
What's up with the security at ESC? Spain some years ago, then Jamala in Ukraine, and now the UK. With all these terrorist attacks, one would assume they would be extra careful and spend more on security.
Mycenaea the same happened the last year with a guy showing his ass... But, how can they predict an idiot is gonna go to the stage and do that? Anyone from the audience can do that, and the security can only get the guy and get him out of there as quick as they can. There is no kind of protection, no bars right? So...security can't stop anyone without someone making a move... They gave her the possibility for her to repeat her song, and she didn't want it since she thought she made a good job. That didn't steal her any brilliance.
I had the pleasure of meeting and working with SuRie recently and can only compliment her for being a true professional (and one hell of a nice person too) Ray from TALENTBANQ
I'm disappointed enough that this song is almost in the last rank, it deserves better ! This song is just like energy, brings people together, turns minds happy and what's more this singer kept cool after this unexpected situation and it gave to her a big power and more desire to sing this song ! She was totally in the song's spirit ! A big BRAVO from France !
A beautiful song and a very good performance. This deserved to be ranked much higher. SuRie was amazing through that interruption, she carried on even stronger than before. Greetings from Serbia!
I'll be honest, as a proud brit I didn't think this song would do well at all, and well in all honestly it didn't but the performance was so much better than what I saw previously. I almost think the guy, although obviously a loser, actually made the performance even better because the lyrics afterwards just encapsulated everything that the song intends to and wow I have to say, she was amazing. I don't care about the points, or lack thereof, for me this was one of the best performances I have seen at the eurovision, given the circumstances.
The text of her song was actually really appropriate to her finishing it after being attacked like that
ikr...giving up on such song would b most inapropriate :)

It was a good song performed very well indeed. She was a star. Deserved a much higher placing than the politically motivated voting gave her.

We never have a chance of winning but she did us bloody proud. And it was a winner worthy entry. You did us proud girl- kept calm and carried on. 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Chris Prestage Yes She Did
Chris Prestage true
Your country has already won ESC so let it go.
I tear up as she continues to sing, you can hear she's afraid and shook. Omg, so terrifying. I send my regards to the UK, what a trooper!
Lovely of you to say 😁 Denmark, beautiful country I want to go back one day.
I actually enjoyed your Viking themed group even if not many others did, they where in my top 5 👍🏻
Oh yeah the Vikings were awesome. So extra. Perfect for eurovision.
Sanne G she's miming what exactly can you hear
She's not miming, then it would be flawless and if you can't hear the flaws in her singing, then you don't have an ear for music or notes at all.
Her voice shivers after the incident so yeah, her adrenalin is pumping, maybe she's mad but she looks terrified.
So courageos. It's inspiring how she carried on against the adversity and kept on singing. She can be proud of herself
The point is she didn't sing. IT WAS A PLAYBACK
Omer Bareket wtf? What you hear when she stopped are the backing vocals
Omer Bareket ALL voices in Eurovision are real and sung LIVE by real people in the arena. There's no Playback at all in Eurovision!
MrSpnsh Wasn’t she lip syncing parts of it
Roan Buckham No, that's not allowed
5 years later and I still get chills seeing SuRie with her fist high in the sky singing "don't give up". In that brief moment I thought. My god we're gonna win this. Obviously we didn't, but I had so much love for her after that. Glorious
23rd but yet it was the only song that you could actually hear the crowd singing too and enjoying 😒 Really didn’t deserve that, she did the United Kingdom proud, you’re our winner SuRie ❤️
Luke Earnshaw Wait this came 23rd!! s***
Sometimes, I find it hard to understand the votes.... She was in my top 3
I blame politics , brexit and there's a may
Exactly that, but add the way the UK is perceived in Europe. Our bigoted dildo idiots don't help.
@Marlean, you have a point. Too bad the song was shit to begin with...
Surie held it together really well. A strong song and a strong singer! Do it for the UK! 🇬🇧
Gaggy Mott I'm from germany but i hoped she win this 😢❤
she didnt she was almost last place, Israel was the winner, sadly
Gagging Mott The song was a car crash but maybe that guy jumping on stage helped her out since she may have got a bit more sympathy from the public which prevented her from finishing last
This is my singing teacher!! She’s so lovely!
Graham Norton going “not sure what they’re going to do now” kills me every time😂
Props to her for carrying on though.
Unfair position! 😞
A kiss from Spain! ❤️
Víctor Segovia quedamos fatal, a que sí??😂😂
Yes its unfair
Alejandro Sanz Ramirez Con Daniel Diges?
That was really professional. When I watched the ESC yesterday evening, I first didn't even recognize what was going on there because she stayed so cool... Congratulations to Great Britain and such a good song with this professional and great singer. =)
Idee gut !!!!9. Unklar singt sie verstah nichts 0
The dutch broadcast didnt show it what happend to clear so me and my dad where very confused
i love how supportive the crowd were
When the crowd started singing loudly to continue the song until SuRie got the microphone back - suck a powerfull moment!
"Don't give up"
That was almost perfectly timed given she was interrupted but managed to carry on anyway.
Grace and professionalism are of greater value than any amount of points on a scoreboard
Pudgy Pudge bruh why not think of something original to say rather than copying and pasting the same comment into different threads
Matt Evans At this point it's spam and I have been reporting it as such lmao
Pudgy Pudge she did nothing wrong
Stephen Gyte you nailed it!
Pudgy - why hate her? - she hasn't killed anyone. I suppose it wasn't you who threatened her on stage, by any chance?? You sound nasty enough....
Absolute amazing to carry on after that! The whole of the U.K. are proud of you.
Winner in my eyes 🤩
Laura Fraser Spain is proud of you also #12 points for Surie.
Truth.
She was amazing. 12 points from me in Ireland.
Laura Fraser... Respect from Israel too! A real professional!
Laura Fraser the poise she had after that amazing I was watching it on tv in America & I was like " Surie...grab ur stuff & leave its bout to be Scream the movie up in there but like a real boss she HANDLED THAT
I love how the message of the song was to not give up and SuRie did just THAT. She didn't give up and carried on.
Terrible security. What if the guy had a knife. The girl dealt with it and carried on afterwards,so well done Britain.
Jim wilson do you really think that the guy had a knife ? They cant enter the show without police reviste them
They probably checked everyone before they got in mate.. You can't screen for; "Obnoxious activist who's going to ruin it for everyone."
Issy Ideas Yes ok but the point is the guy should have not been able to get near her
That's very simple: he ran faster...
He could have punched her you don’t need a weapon to harm someone
I was watching this live from Australia, and when the commentators saw this they called him and I quote, "a complete cockhead". Count on us Aussies to swear on live TV at some injustice.
Yanna Banana you’re not even in Europe and shouldn’t be performing just like Israel, Armenia, Georgia and the others.
Lasagne man Australia is competing because we have supported Eurovision for years and years now. We watch it just as much as the other countries in Europe, and we are one of its biggest fans, supporting it greatly throughout the years. That's why we are performing. I bet the other countries have a legitimate reason for competing too.
This Stoic World Yes! I kid you not, they were swearing live because they were so mad that she got sabotaged 😂
Congratulations to Surie for her professional behaviour. In addition, the song is really amazing. Greetings from Greece :)
It should have won, that was a perfect performance.
Thank you very much. Greetings to Greece from the UK. Your country has had some amazing songs. The year 2012 was the best. (Apthrodisiac)
I 'm glad to "hear" that :) In my opinion, the best song of us was the one that won in 2005 with Elena Paparizou (number one). I like the fact that through one European competition we all can show our "thing" like tradition, culture, etc. The music must unite the world despite the differences between people :)
STEPHEN MCGONIGLE thank you for your good words for Greece. Greetings from Greece
Thank you very much. When your message came through, I was on holiday on the Island of Corfu so it made it very special.
Yes! I really liked how she belted out that last verse.
I like the song. It's current, like Katy Perry style.
She got the best crowd reaction and loads were singing along ! Surprised what place she came! She deserved better! 😴
Wow, honey, you've got some screws loose.
Sod off Rosco Haines, you are talking utter crap and stop generalising, you speak for nobody but yourself.
Saoirse Muzyczka - it’s all political, countries voting for neighbour countries etc....
Genuinely had a lump in my throat when she got her mic back and belted out the rest of the song. Go on SuRie. SuRie for Eurovision 2019!!
1:56 Commentator: Not sure What they're going to do now.
Surie: Don't give up!
What a solid singer she is. She had the courage to finish her permoncance in a superb way. Greetings from Mexico City.
Morten Hansson i think it's austria
So please explain how the Beyoncé lookalike was allowed to miss all her high notes, so she could flick her hair about whilst a male substitute was hitting the notes backstage?
Israel won the contest and thanks to the results, the United Kingdom are ruined!
How? Should I get my tin foil hat on. We expect to lose every year and see it as a joke. The UK have produced the best and biggest selling rock bands in the world, unlike anyone else in Eurovision
Nope but she deserved the 6 the I think
Well done girl....you done your country proud...very professional...from an Irish viewer xx
She done great from Ireland too 😂🤗
Yes u made Britten very prod and we are take out hats off to her fell done I’m Scottish vewer🇬🇧
Agree love from Cyprus!
She also has this amazing ability to be a ventriloquist.
P Ferreira ventrilo?? An explanation to non english ppl pls?
A year later and I still don't understand why they scored so low
Edit: it's been two years, stop replying to this
Political
We all hate the UK :/
Emkito Brexit
Florence Lont why do you hate us, what did we do wrong.
@@kaylzey first of all your food is disgusting second of all brexit
Maybe she didnt win tonight but im pretty sure she made all britain proud about how profesional their artists are
Well said Sebastian! The UK must be sooooo proud of her she was truly amazing how she carried on WOW!
John Smith You can't do playback at Eurovision. It's people behind her who sing, reflect a little.
John - listen to Danni
Bless...
haha dumbass
I mean ironic though he ran on and she sings « don’t give up » like of course she carried on singing
europeans must not being looking favorably on UK leaving EU.. cos otherwise you would have thought either UK or Ire should win this with good songs that would also be able to pick up the obvious sympathy vote..
frank zappa's pussy may I remind you ireland isn't leaving. Nothern ireland is and only because of England's choice
Slender Hulk yh but many Europeans don't really know the difference between Ireland and N Ireland tbh
THANK YOU intruder.......sheeple are still asleep........... they give over dosed sugar/chemical stuff to their children and call it "treats"..... we need to wake up......money printing out of thin air..... banks are rigging our system every year and no one give a dam.
frank zappa's pussy Let's thank Ireland and Australia for 0 points.
No she didn't. She didn't merely "carry on" after the stage invasion, she completely rocked the performance.
I take my hat off to you, SuRie.
respect to her for carrying on
Dian ayyyy he’s the best !
I love the fact everyone sang her song
Jurgen Klopp everything was recorded ,...she got exposed.
Be proud of cheating
It as just in case something like that happend
BOOM
djelli art It was backing vocals you imbecile
djelli art stfu it was backing vocals.
It really feels like SuRie gets strengthened by the incident and the lyrics sounds even more important after that with "spread your love". Power, big respect and BIG LOVE!
I remember watching this on the night.. i was so in shock I couldn’t focus on anything else. The way she came back from that was amazing!
Same for me. It felt like the whole evening was ruined and i couldnt focus on any other performance
I had the same feelings!
That man had no respect for her at all shame on him. Well done for her to singing on really proud of her.
Actually the incident was STAGED to force audience to give her the vote out of pity. Disgusting UK antics.
Oracio Walter oh shut up no it wasn't you idiot.
The song was shit anyway
hb rEid n u could do better idiot
shut it you racist freak.
Only Rating Nr. 24??? No, SuRie is the real Hero of ESC. High respect for her professional quality!!!
She is so strong. Amazing the way she absolutely killed the last chorus. Deserved a better result
Lucky you! Song ok, but love the lady - such great character!
Hats off to her for carrying on and the strength she showed in the power of song when she continued that nothing can break her!! Proud of her and loved the audience singing along and in the place when the mic was taken from her!! Well done SuRie!! ❤️
he managed to get so close to her, imagine if he was carrying a weapon or something... the security at this place was abysmal, she was so brave.
you cannot get in to the arena with weapons they had huge control about it. But you cannot control this freak people...
spacepaladin that's exactly what my daughter said. Wtf was wrong with security , he could have stabbed her!
its not easy to get in the arena with a knife...you need to pass for 3 checkpoints...
Everybody can kill everybody anytime with a weapon. There is no 100% safety.
br3menPT even so, he couldve very easily assaulted her without a weapon, possibly the stolen microphone if he really wanted to. he was onstage without security for a while, im just glad he only decided to steal the mic and shout into it
I remember seeing this on tv and being extremely proud that she carried on singing for our country even after the incident at 1:52 well SuRie I’m always supporting you ❤️🇬🇧
Thank you BBC for daring to publish the video of the real action of the United Kingdom.
The bbc support that particular protest
Well, she never sang better than when after the intruder.
Are u serious?!
Saw it live and just watching it again, it's an amazingly professional response! Well done, SuRie!
She reacted perfectly.
Love from Portugal! Her reaction was amazing!!! "Hey brother, don't give up"!!!!
Can't believe she was voted 24th when she picked up the mic and carried on, most of the acts would of probs walked off and took the chance to re-do it
Bookmakers and their odds who manipulate the audience's attention through the orientation drawn by the media to certain songs are the cancer that needs to get eliminated.
Not mine
Y'know its ironic because the Eurovision is meant to be a show where politics and disputes are left at the door on the way in
Magnus Carlsson
...it's never about music.
Are you OK Collette?
I love how the crowd at 1:46 just keeps partying as if nothing happened all while the dude yells something about nazis and the media.
Nerds United he said Something about "nazis of the UK media" "we demand freedom!"
Nerds United 😂😂
I’m pretty sure they cut it to the crowd so people wouldn’t see what was going on on stage.
Marijana Matic people watching from home I mean
I was in front of the standing area there. It was my first eurovision so i was a little shocked when a random man came to SuRie to steal her microphone. But all the nice people around me all sang along and calmed me down, and we danced, jumped and sang with SuRie to encourage her. What followed was the continuation of a super performance. It was honestly the most beautiful moment of the evening, at least for me it was. She also got the loudest applause of the evening! A standing ovation!
SHE HANDLED THE SITUATION AMAZINGLY SUCH A PROFESSIONAL LOVE YOU SURIEEE
Wow! She made that stage her own. You could hear the worry in her voice, and who wouldn't be, but she kept going and sounded great.
Moments like this make
Me proud to be British !!! wow. She carried on like the pro she is. So much respect for this strong woman , no doubt it scared the crap out of her !!! xx WELL DONE SURIE
well not she carried they played record and she joined later to sing to that record.
Heyguys imjodie dude, she was clearly miming... He took the mic and started shouting yet the singing kept going lol
defianse121 It’s called backing singers.
defianse121 they have live backstage backing singers. You can tell that Surie herself wasn't singing at that time just by listening. What they'll have done was boost the levels of the singer singing the main melody along with Surie.
Rhys Benjamin it's called getting caught out.
But not worry, Norway was caught out too
True professionalism from the UK. Respect to the artist. Song did not deserve to finish third last either.
No, it deserved to be last.
Well done BBC for publishing the actual performance, rather than the Eurovision censored version (without the nutter).
yeh, and unlike them to do this. they are normally too politically correct
6 years later, still one of my favourite moments of Eurovision : the strength she received from the crown was incredible , it made it even more powerful and she is FABULOUS!
She may have only come 24th but she sure as hell made us here in the UK proud tonight
Nothing could be as embarassing as the winning song
Jacob B The U.K. entry was ten tiimes better than the winner !
Least she did not come last and got points
It has become such a joke, it would not matter, if she did
Jacob B what was he protesting tho?
What's up with the security at ESC? Spain some years ago, then Jamala in Ukraine, and now the UK.
With all these terrorist attacks, one would assume they would be extra careful and spend more on security.
IKR! Exactly my thoughts.
And he was carrying a backpack! She must have been terrified!
Mycenaea what happened with Jamala?
Arturo Fuentes this Australian person showing their butt, don't you remember?
Wow, she handled that like a total pro, big respect for her there!
The ranking is not important. She is a strong British woman, THAT is important! Regards from Germany.
A beautiful song and a very good performance. This deserved to be ranked much higher. SuRie was amazing through that interruption, she carried on even stronger than before. Greetings from Serbia!
Enza Avella she sings so much better than the chicken. Unbelievable
We will never get higher as know one likes the UK
Proof that no matter how great a performance, the UK will never place high. Incredible performance by SuRie.
1:43 *"All the Nazis of the UK media, we demand freedom, war is not peace, quack!"* 😂
Ich hæd so much hardness in understændind ðæt!
The quack is just gold! 😂
Ju rili hæd?
Anthony nei ai vånt tu
Anthony jess, ai æm fråm nårvey
I'll be honest, as a proud brit I didn't think this song would do well at all, and well in all honestly it didn't but the performance was so much better than what I saw previously. I almost think the guy, although obviously a loser, actually made the performance even better because the lyrics afterwards just encapsulated everything that the song intends to and wow I have to say, she was amazing.
I don't care about the points, or lack thereof, for me this was one of the best performances I have seen at the eurovision, given the circumstances.
WE FELT SO SAD. SHE REACT BRIILHANTLY BEST PERFORMANCE!!!! RESPECT FROM PORTUGAL SuRieeeeeeeee
Kudos for the very brave and professional SuRie! She held on well without compromising her performance. Well done, girl!!! Cheers from Portugal.
I love watching this again from time to time because it gives me such a warm feeling seeing SuRie be brave and carry on.
