We have had it out only once thus far... super short trip. We like what we see thus far and can't wait to get it into the mountains. Thanks for watching! - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Thank you Trail Tech for making amazing products! We love your stuff and are always happy to see you release new items as they tend to be ground breaking. Nice work! - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Perhaps you guys at Trail Tech should have thought of that when you came out with this product. It's a good thing Chapparal did a video, because if they didn't most people would be having a really hard time installing the Voyager Pro. Your useless owner's manual (or actual lack thereof) is worthless for the install. Don't get me started on operation it's uselessness for actual operation.
alright so the one mystery i came here for wasn't answered: how the hell did you get the mounting arm around the handlebar tube? does that plastic really stretch that much? do you have to strip the handlebars?
Hi, the mounting kit comes with two mounts to fit 7/8 inch and 1 1/8 inch bars. Yes the appropriate mount will stretch over the appropriate handlebar. Thanks for watching.
The t antenna is the buddy tracker antenna NOT the gps antenna, that is why there are 2 sma connections. You’ll have minimized gps signal and no ability to track riders without setting up antennas right.
So after reading the manual, the trail tech pro has an internal gps antenna and the plug is just for an upgrade ability to get better performance in locking more satellites👍👍
Hello, we have not tried that upgrade. We would recommend contacting Trail Tech to find which parts you already have installed would be compatible with the Voyager Pro.
Can I keep the original hour meter and use this ? I like the gps but I don't really need the rpm, temp and hours. Do you sell one without all those but still have the same features.
So Polaris owns Trail Tech so is this going to be compatible with the Polaris Ride Command on the off road, and snowmobile? if so buddy riding is going to be amazing!
Absolutely Mike. The mount kit is very generic and therefore is not very "rigid" on where it needs to be mounted. I myself would created my own bracket... but the handlebar mount in the kit does the trick. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Yes Gregory, the OEM is perfect... but it does not "read into" the Voyager Pro. That is the only reason for the replacement. Thanks for watching. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Nice video. Very helpful. I want to keep my original OEM dash on the bike, however I also would like to use the Trail Tech Indicator Light Dashboard on the Voyager Pro "Protector". I am worried about tapping into the OEM wire loom to get the new indicator lights to work. Do you have any suggestions?
Great question Terry Ash. It all depends on how old your Voyager is... We have close-up images of each part. Just watch the video and compare to your current set-up. You should be able to quickly compare. Even if they are not the same, installation was super simple and it won't be much work to run new sensor leads. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Be very careful connecting directly to your battery it will drain it even when not running. Connecting it through a circuit that turns off power after the engine is not running is a very good thing.
So did you just make a street legal bike illegal? No high beam indicator, turn signal indicator and you lose your check engine light too? Looks great for a trail bike though.
Farmer Dave thanks for watching. Nothing about the installation made it any less street legal. The bike still has 100% of its functionality + additional features. There is nothing in DOT law stating that you need to have "warning lights" for your headlight, indicators, etc... Thanks for watching.
You must be in a crazy state then. As a former licensed dot safety inspector, not having a high beam indicator and turn signal indicator when turn signals are equipped is an automatic fail.
Very interesting Farmer Dave. Here we need to have the lights, but there is not a requirement for on dash indicators... Or so I thought. I will check with a local DOT / CHP buddy... Now I am curious. Thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment!! - Kyle
No problem, in Texas you dont have to have blinkers, but you would have to use your hand signals. The law requires a horn, at least one mirror, and high beam with indicator, low beam thats always on along with taillight/brakelight thats always on. Laws are different state to state tho for example Iowa requires blinkers and two mirrors. It just caught my attention, not trying to call you guys out but in some states dot might take issue is all. It looks like a sweet setup and they should make a mount with the indicators like they have for the vapor/striker.
I agree, I'd rather this came with a T-harness to keep the stock KTM dash even if it's tucked underneath the unit. The hour meter and mileage counter are good to have as well as the lights. Also it would be awesome if HighwayDirtbikes came out with a mount for it!
One thing I'm wondering is if anybody managed to avoid slicing the casing that carries the VSS harness up the fork. I think that's just a JST connector or some variant. I believe that there are tools to easily remove the conductors from these connectors. With many connectors, you can remove the conductors (the wires), route the cable, and then re-insert the wires into the plug in the proper arrangement. This video discusses it: th-cam.com/video/Vt_rAIKPlWA/w-d-xo.html
Hello, yes there are tools to remove the connector end so that you can take care of the wiring and then use the connector and protective sheaving without having to slice anything.
Oh, ok...plenty of viewers have watched and and found the video to be very useful, as it helped them with their own installs. Guess this video wasn't meant for you. Thanks for watching anyway. Ride safe.
What a terrible design for the coolant temp sensor also your battery is always going to have a draw for that kind of money it should come with a relay.
Just installed this on my 2019 500 EXC-F. Video made it a simple, straight forward install. Great product!!.
Great feedback! Thanks for taking the time to come back an comment!
Looks very simple and elegant - thanks for the informative install - look forward to you use review!

Will the mounting system work with my Flexx Handlebars? 2013 KTM 500 EXC?
Hello Dan, thanks for watching. I do not see any reason this set-up would not work with your Flexx Handlebars. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
alright so the one mystery i came here for wasn't answered: how the hell did you get the mounting arm around the handlebar tube? does that plastic really stretch that much? do you have to strip the handlebars?

I had the same question. Funny how that was skipped in the video!
Are the original hours and milage still displayed and added too?
Hello, yes you can set this up to display your original odometer/hour readings. Thanks for watching.
Is there a better place to put the gos antena
I have seen it mounted above the headlight. Always in the open, but always subject to the elements at speed. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Will this work on older 2 strokes that carry a battery. This would nice on my lt500r
Yes, it should work just fine.
Once you remove the OEM computer, does the key still work for turning the bike on and off?
Hello. yes it should.
The t antenna is the buddy tracker antenna NOT the gps antenna, that is why there are 2 sma connections. You’ll have minimized gps signal and no ability to track riders without setting up antennas right.
Thanks for pointing that out.

My Beta RRS has the trail tech voyager, how easy is it to convert it to the voyager pro?
Hello, we have not tried that upgrade. We would recommend contacting Trail Tech to find which parts you already have installed would be compatible with the Voyager Pro.
My kit did not come with a new speed sensor can I utilize my own
Hello, not sure, check with Trail Tech. They may be able to set you up with a sensor.
Can I keep the original hour meter and use this ? I like the gps but I don't really need the rpm, temp and hours. Do you sell one without all those but still have the same features.
Yeah you probably could but you would need to figure out a place to mount it while keeping your stock unit. We do not sell a stand alone GPS unit.
you like heatshrink so much... didn't even bundle up the connectors and cover them in heatshrink ;)
Got it. Thanks for pointing that out. Ride safe.
So Polaris owns Trail Tech so is this going to be compatible with the Polaris Ride Command on the off road, and snowmobile? if so buddy riding is going to be amazing!
Hi Kerian, it is compatible with Polaris' Ride Command Group Ride feature.
Trail tech says there is no wheel speed sensor that is compatible with this bike. What part number worked? Possibly Item # 101-06
2019 EXC-F 500
Hello, this kit came with a speed senor that replaced the OEM speed sensor. Check the 7:00 minute mark of the video to see how we replaced the sensor.
Can it be installed with a scotts steering damper?
Absolutely Mike. The mount kit is very generic and therefore is not very "rigid" on where it needs to be mounted. I myself would created my own bracket... but the handlebar mount in the kit does the trick. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
I am thinking the same thing, using the holes that hold the stock cluster to mount brackets that hold the Voyager.
Dumb question what if I don’t have headlights? Will it work for a 2022 KX250x
Hello, yes it will work with that model.
Hi, i have 2019 Husqvarna FE450, will this also be PnP? Does the unit have European maps on it or is able to download them?
Thanks for the reply Rhys. Sorry Ernest for the delay in response - Yes maps can be downloaded for FREE.
maybe better to put the aerial buddy tracker on the inside of the head light were it wont get knocked off when ya bike go's upside down in a gorge lol
Good call lazy1uk. We were looking for the most satellite accessible area... but we really like your suggestion. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Instructions say to mount buddy antenna vertically
Why would you want to replace the KTM speedometer sensor and cable? The OEM version is perfect.
Yes Gregory, the OEM is perfect... but it does not "read into" the Voyager Pro. That is the only reason for the replacement. Thanks for watching. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Will this work for my 2015 ktm sxf 250? Wanting to make it a supermoto
Hello, yes it should work with your bike.
Hello, I would suggest contacting Trail Tech directly. Thanks for watching.
Will my voyager sensors just plug right in if I’m upgrading? Wheel, temp, ignition, power?
Great question Terry Ash. It all depends on how old your Voyager is... We have close-up images of each part. Just watch the video and compare to your current set-up. You should be able to quickly compare. Even if they are not the same, installation was super simple and it won't be much work to run new sensor leads. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Yes, mine did.
@@chaparralmotorsports What year bike did you do the install on? I'd like to replace the OEM 'dash' but wonder if it is plug and play on a 2012.
Be very careful connecting directly to your battery it will drain it even when not running. Connecting it through a circuit that turns off power after the engine is not running is a very good thing.
Do you have to have a bike with a battery?
Yes, this 500 exc has a battery and it is recommended. Off the battery is drains very fast.
How do you charge the unit off the bike?
Does it drain bike battery while riding?

Hi Teddy, yest this will work on a KLX 140. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for info
It's a really neat unit! Thanks for watching! - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
I don't have a radiator it's aircooled
well... leave that sensor off ;)
How much this one?
Hello, you can find this on our website: www.chapmoto.com/trail-tech-voyager-pro-gps-kit-parent-677-922-110 the price is $599.95

Using an old unused phone can provide much of the functions and more, for nothing, with a better higher resolution screen
Ok. Thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for watching.
Looks like a half ass install to me. If i ever get one of these i want it installed better than that

Hello, thanks for your insight. If you have product/designs complaints or recommendations it'd be best to direct them to the manufacturer, Trail Tech.
The TrailTech directions that came with this product are terrible.
Hopefully this helps.
@@chaparralmotorsports it definitely did. Ty!
