I now own a 2024 Can Am Spyder F3 Limited. I thought I wanted a Harley so I went to the Dealership and tried a new Harley trike. It felt to me like driving a big red three wheeler. I felt totally uncomfortable in the corners. Like it was trying to push over diagonally. I decided then because of health issues that I would never be able to ride again. I started looking into the spiders. Last week I was researching them online. The next day I seemed to see them everywhere. I pulled into the grocery store and one pulled up beside me. I started talking to him about if it was anything like driving a Snowmobile. He was from Canada and owned snowmobiles too. He assured me it was almost the same feel. It was settled the next day I went out and bought one. It is GREAT. For the record I grew up in Maine with Snowmobiles. Keep up the great videos.
Only on a bike twice in my life and both rides as a passenger. That was as a teen. Been wanting a cycle of my own all my life. Finally decided I was going to make it happen. Thought Harley was it, then started looking at 3 wheel bikes. May 02, '24, after researching a very little bit and watching a couple of your videos. 64 y/o June 28, and I couldn't be happier at this point! Yeah, multiple health problems too, but my wife trusts me on this bike. We plan Sunday A M drives and just feel so exillerated that when we get home we start talking about the next ride. I call her my biker chick! I am very confident that she is safe AND she is talking about a separate ride for herself. It's awesome fun and tension release! Thanks for Your videos!!! Ride Blessed!
I have 50 years of riding 2 wheels. Bought a 2022 Sea to Sky when I retired. No physical limitations, got hooked on the comfort, storage especially 2 up.Great weather protection, stable. Expect to put a lot of miles on next summer.
Awesome! How do you like the Sea to Sky? Did you compare it with an RT model and have any opinions for folks on the differences? Have fun and ride safe.
Good to see Harrisonville, MO on TH-cam. I had a H-D Road Glide 3 for 10 months and it sucked. I traded it for a Spyder F3 S and in 2months have put more miles on it than the H-D.
Glad you are enjoying your F3! The Log Cabin Festival is going in at the Harrisonville square this weekend. My CMA chapter will have a tent up there, come by and say hello. Ride safe.
As Coach Bob always says: if you're not having fun, you are doing it wrong! And you are doing it right! I always have fun and enjoy riding my Spyder. Cheers!!
Agree with the comfort points. Just traded my 2013 Harley Ultra Classic for a 2023 Spyder RT Limited. Perfect for commuting, but where I really find the difference is when I’m riding with my wife as a passenger. I’m not as tired after a long day trip on the Spyder as I would be with the Ultra. I love not having to balance when coming to a stop and even as I’m riding, it’s just so much easier to control. Again, it is simply so much more comfortable. I do love the smoothness and performance of the 1330 Rotax engine.
Nice video. Comfort is #1. Oh yeah, having a trailer is kinda a necessity. Even if you don’t travel much, it can be used to go make groceries and hauling other stuff around for just you.
Holy cow! It's been a year already! Can-Am is pretty smart with those test rides...50 mile test rides and bam, sold! Well, that's how it worked for me, lol. I love the short reach handle bars and I just had them readjusted an inch closer ...yep, Spyder Wayne has done one ...an IB...and I have also. Glad you are loving that RT so much!
Hi PoT! I took the test ride last year here in Texas AFTER I actually bought my Spyder! I was a little frustrated that the dealerships here couldn't let me test ride one, but the great ride we did from the New Braunfels dealership event up River Road and back on the highway just nailed it! I finally rode my 2023 Spyder RT Limited (a little over one year old) back down River Road and it was a beautiful day and experience!
I'm glad you're enjoying the rides on the Spyder. I recently put the Baja Ron ultra sway bar on my 21' RTL. We have a lot of winding roads, and it's a huge help for me and 2 up is fantastic now.
We bought a Spyder RT limited. The comfort was the biggest decision for us. We did get those same handbars, and it came with heated seaters and handle grips, and I got the floorboard lifts and brake pedal because I am 5”1’.
Yes I always forget to say anything about the heated grips and seats, both for the rider and the passenger. And I really like the electronic windshield too. Thanks for posting and ride safe.
Thanks for the video, I am still contemplating buying one of these three wheelers and I like to watch the reviews to help me to make the right choices.
Good video. The Can Am Spyder RT Limited caught my eye years ago, I have had 5 back surgeries and I cannot push a 2 wheel bike around. What stopped me from buying one earlier was spending $20K on a toy. But now that I am retired and I am not getting any younger, now is the time. The newer 2020 and up RT Limited are pretty much all decked out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ride safe.
Hi fellow Spyder rider. I'm like you rode a larger bike, 1993 Honda Goldwing Aspencade 1500. Rode other bikes in my teen years. The GW just got to big for me due to back, knee injuries from my USAF career. I have a 2016 Can-Am Spyder RTS SE6, Orbital Blue. Love the ride. What bike club do you ride with. Myself, I ride with the Blue Knights International MC Club, great group of guys and gals. Ride safe, always wear your gear, watch out for the cagers and glitters, especially skunks they just stink up your ride. Most of all, enjoy the ride.🛵
Thanks for posting! Pretty sure I now some Blue Knights in this area (Kansas City). I am part of the Christian Motorcyclists Association - president of a local chapter here in the KC area. Take care and ride safe!
Same Spyder. Bought it brand new. Only have 55,000 miles to date. Covid and other situations prevented doing more riding. Did do a xctry from Las Vegas to Florida one year. Had a perplexing recent issue where it would shift on its own to a lower gear and at stoplights it would go into neutral and would not shift into gear. No codes were showing any faults. Finally after 3 months the dealer and I narrowed it down to s short in the gear selection system. After replacing the gear position sensor( no help) then finally replaced the left handle bar gear selector assembly. No problems since then. I've recently installed the Pedal Commander and what a difference it has made. The fun is back! Anyway safe riding!!
Fun side huh….personal opinion… to each their own…I own a 2019 Tri Glide Ultra stage one with TBM exhaust and I guarantee you that I could blast by you so fast it make your head spin….different strokes for different folks…might want to keep that in mind….🤫
I agree with all your comparison facts. I’m fortunate that I have a Harley Freewheeler and a Spyder RTL. Let me say I love my Harley but it rides like an old truck compared to the Lexus feel of the Spyder. If you love your Harley you put up with things that are not an issue on the spyder. My wife rides with me on both but prefers the spyder and so do I but occasionally I need a Harley fix. Members of both Spyder and Harley Clubs and enjoy our friends in both. Keep y our videos coming and yes the baharon sway bar will make a nice difference and switched to led headlights for night driving.
Thanks for the video! As far as upgrades to my 2023 RT Limited, I have done a few, but the first I did was purchased the lights bundle from SlingMods so that my front fenders, both sets of running boards, and rear lights for the "blank" insets add to my visibility. I have had the Baja Ron sway bar and linkages installed, along with wheel balancers. My next big purchase and install next year will be the Elka shocks for all three wheels.
Had two Spyder RTs after years of two wheels. Now on a Ryker. Lots of fun and reliable so far. 38 mpg on the Ryker. Glad you are so happy with your RT. A good resource for Spyder and Ryker info is RykerRydes and SpyderRydes TH-cam videos by Beth.
Having had multiple bikes, like a Ryker and a Harley and a Honda DCT, I would would have to say the new larger Spyder is the way to go for comfort , safety, and being able to enjoy the ride/scenery. Baja Rons is a must and also a set of good elka shocks don't hurt. Enjoy. Only down side is trying to maintain the Spyder yourself. Like oil change etc..
In stop and go traffic, l sure don't miss the stiff clutch feathering on the HD Tri-Glide. Plus the automatic down shifting, when coming up to a stoplight on the Spyder is great! Safe Travels.
I think they are just short reach bars not sure which vendor they came with the spyder whe I bought it. Do a search for spyder short reach bars and you will find them for f3 and others. Didn't think I would like them but I have left them on and they sure are comfortable! Have fun and ride safe
Insta360 X4. DJI Mic 2 transmitter. DJI Mic 2 receiver is connected to the side of my X4 via an XMount adapter. Using a Insta360 mic adapter on the side of the X4 to convert the usb-c port to a 3.5mm jack port so that I can connect the DJI receiver to the X4 audio input. For the mount, I bought the Insta360 motorcycle mount kit when I bought the X4. Comes with a good rugged bar mount that I can connect my selfie stick to. RAM ball mount type setup. Hope that helps.
Hey there, I just made the switch to 3 wheels from 2. I had my Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter 1500 converted to a Front wheel trike last winter. It has taken me a while to get used to 3 wheels but its coming along. It has kept me in the saddle. I did my Iron Butt in 2000 as a 2 wheeler on the Drifter. If I get confident enough I will go again on 3. I weigh 300 lbs and am 68 yrs old so pushing a 2 wheeler around anymore and balance problems actually helped me go for 3. Had it done by Endeavor Trikes up in Minnesota. Check him out. Small shop but great products.
We've bought a spyder and I have yet to ride it. My wife purchased it and I'm on assignment elsewhere. I've seen many videos of both vehicles and it seems that the tri Glide riders are constantly fighting the handlebars and their camera bobbles up, down and around corners! I can't wait to drive the spyder. My wife used to ride 2 wheelers but hasn't rode for probably 10 or more years. She has used it almost every day since she got it! My problem is getting my GL 1500 to the road and sell it.
I has a 2018 RTL and put 10k miles on it. Can Am was years behind on technology (I'm sure they've caught up by now). There were several reasons I purchased a Goldwing DCT with a Motor Trike Conversion. Got significantly more power, equally as comfortable a ride as the Can Am, modern world technology, no need for premium gas, no replacing the rear tire every 10K miles, and more, but I'll stop with that. I wouldn't trade back.
The current Goldwin was redesigned in 2018.. I actually test drove a CSC Conversion 2 weeks ago. Wasn’t a big fan. Bought a 2024 Spyder Sea to Sky. Tech is great. 10” screen. Don’t think you can compare the tech now to the Goldwin… Spyder for the win. Way more comfortable. Great low torque. Also, how can you compare a Trike that is made at the factory, by a legit company to something that was converted at someone’s shop… you can’t be serious, dude. Honda doesn’t make trikes. 🤷🤷😂
I also did another video “What are some of the benefits of pulling a trailer behind your spyder “. That video will also give you some insight into weather you might need to get a trailer or not.
Nice review. I've got a bad back also, (5 blown disc and spinal stenosis). Ive got my 3rd Harley (Road Glide Special) and i absolutely love it. But ....im having a harder time now with coming to a stop and sometimes the legs don't react as quickly as they should probably because of nerve damage. So I'm not as safe, especially at low speeds as i used to be. I've thought about 3 wheels but i really just didn't like the idea of the TriGlide. So I'm thinking the Spyder because of the 2 wheels out front. But oh, letting go of my Harley.... That's a tough choice!
I did a video entitled “What to carry in your trailer and why “. That video will help to give you some insight on some of the usage of having a trailer.
Hallo…
Hello! Thanks for the comment. I have a friend who rides with his wife and a sidecar, or did. She has found that the RT is much more comfortable than the sidecar ride for sure. And, when you add custom arm bars to the passenger area, it's even more comfortable. Also, per your comment about centrifugal force when cornering, I am betting that putting a more firm sway bar in like the baja ron sway bar, would help that feel even better and corner better too. Ride safe over there!
@@RideBlessed Hello! Thanks for your reply. I will probably go for another test drive with my wife and see if the passenger seat might be acceptable for my wife after all. During our test drive at the time, the driver's backrest, the short-reach handlebar and the passenger armrests were missing. We will try it out again. I am familiar with the subject of chassis conversions and would definitely do the same for "our" RT. Thank you again for your reply and I wish you continued good riding with your RT. Manfred
It gets hot especially when it's 95+ outside. But I think not as hot as the tri glide. My right leg got hot quite a few times on the trike. And I even bought some wind deflectors from dk customs to send more air flow on the v twin. It helped for sure but I think the spyder isn't as hot as the tri glide
I really missed my gold wing. I had A 95 SE but I know that a 2024 is to much to handle. I as of now owe a 2021 can-am r t Limited love the bike but I at times miss my goldwing.
Yeah i do miss the Harley Trike sometimes too. The v-twin rumble maybe. And the ultra classic I had. And the valkyrie interstate. And other bikes I have had. They all bring something different to the riding experience don't they. Have fun and ride safe
They are yes, it's a 2020 RTL. Bought it with them on and was sure I was going to put the regular bars back on. But after trying them, they are extremely comfortable on long rides! Just did 750 miles or so this weekend and it was great. Goo position for my arms.
That’s not true at all. I just got a 2024 Sea to Sky. Out the door was 30,500 after a discount. One other place wanted $36K and another place wanted $34K. Tri Glide is almost $40K. Test drove one two weeks ago. Not sure where you’re getting the less than half..
Good question I haven't looked at it specifically. My guess would be, riding highway at 65, with wife on and full tank of 91+ octane gas... I would guess 190 miles maybe 200? I think I remember on my tri-glide I would get around 185 miles a tank. Sorry I don't have specifics but those are probably pretty close. Anyone else want to weigh in with more specifics? The tri-glide was great for me then, but the Spyder is better for me now and I'm having a lot of fun. Ride safe!
You actually went to a vehicle that has worse reliability than a Harley. The last I read in Consumer Reports is that the Can Am Spyders have a 45% failure rate within the first five years. I love the concept of the Can Am Roadsters, but that's just too much of a gamble for me. Good luck and ride safe.
Appreciate you sharing that for everyone. I didn't see or read that in my research, so I hope things work out better than what Consumer Reports states!
I don't have specifics, but I feel like they are pretty comparable. Like I replied elsewhere, I feel like I was getting 185 miles per tank on the tri-glide, and I seem to be getting more than that on the Spyder. But no specifics sorry. I may have to do a video on that! Interestingly, I seem to get better gas mileage on the Spyder when NOT using eco mode...
Being a Harley enthusiast and owning 8 of them I will never buy a tri-glide. Two in the front is way better than two in the rear on a three wheel vehicle. Maybe Polaris should try a three wheeled motorcycle using the Challenger and two wheels up front.
It is amazing the difference in handling with 2 wheels in front and power assisted steering. But, there sure are a lot of trike kits out there too. Was looking at newer tri glide, and even a goldwing with trike kit, but so glad I went with the Spyder
I have no problem with Can Am Spyders or Tri- Glides doing an "iron butt" however, they should have to do twice the distance as a two wheeled motorcycle because of the advantages of having a third wheel. Trikes need their own separate category and requirements for the "iron butt".
Mine is a 2020 RT Limited. Wasn't convinced the Sea and Sky is worth the price difference yet. I'm sure I'll look at it again at some point. Ride safe!
@@RideBlessed My wife has a 2022 RT and I have a 2023 Sea to Sky. They are basically the same accept for the paint and color of the wheels. The 2024 has apple car play. I added Apple CarPlay aftermarket to her bike and my wife loves it. Not unless you have to have the Sea to sky the LT is a better deal in my opinion. both seats are plenty comfortable. As a side note I have 5 bikes in the garage and last summer I was ending taking her bike more often than my bikes. She said to me - why don't you get your own. So I did and pick up the Sea to Sky in late March. Already have 1800 mile on and one trip to Moab UT.
@@RideBlessed we bought the Sea 2 Sky because the seat was much more comfortable, we liked the green with gold wheels and I knew the price of Spyders was going up, so the value was there. Dealer was only alloted 2 that year so the 21's are scarce. Since have added movable handlebars, vents, aftermarket backrest and armrests. Covered sidepanels in clear plastic to protect from foot scuffing and covered center console with protector covering to keep from scratching as we ride 2 up a lot. The lighted floorboards were pricey but increases bike visability, Main thing is she is paid for. Still going to change out to a Baha tie rod and and more led lights to back. The downer for me is wheel alignment. None of the dealers near me do it.
Iron butt on a Spyder..😂…I see no challenge at all compared to doing on a bike. I surely wouldn’t tell anyone I did it….be like..whew..I did the iron but in my car….big deal….

Had it done by Endeavor Trikes up in Minnesota. Check him out. Small shop but great products.
Great to hear you are still riding. Have fun and ride safe!
Enjoyed your vid, first time viewer, my i ask where you purchased your vest? Safe Spyering?
Hey thanks! I think I got that vest at Chucks Boots in Lee's Summit MO
@@RideBlessed -Thanks for your rapid response, many thanks and blessings spyder safely.
Hope you enjoy it once you have a chance to ride it!
Sounds like you found a great fit! Ride safe and enjoy it.
I have nearly 79,000 miles on my Rt Ltd...tow a trailer....no issues...
Awesome! What trailer do you have?
I also did another video “What are some of the benefits of pulling a trailer behind your spyder “. That video will also give you some insight into weather you might need to get a trailer or not.
I may have actually watched that already- will go look! Thanks much.
Yes it definitely is a tough choice. But one I had to make on order to keep riding. Good luck with your decision and ride safe!
Yes. Thank you Lord
I did a video entitled “What to carry in your trailer and why “. That video will help to give you some insight on some of the usage of having a trailer.
Hallo…
Manfred

Hello!
Manfred
You do you, but I love my Harley TriGlide. Although, the water cooled engine is an attraction…
Yep ride what you enjoy riding, and ride safe!
How is the temperature of the bike. Does it run a little hotter than the Tri Glide ?
It gets hot especially when it's 95+ outside. But I think not as hot as the tri glide. My right leg got hot quite a few times on the trike. And I even bought some wind deflectors from dk customs to send more air flow on the v twin. It helped for sure but I think the spyder isn't as hot as the tri glide
Amen!
I also ride a triglid. But it's hard on my back ruff ride. So thing of the spider but I read they bottom out on ruff rides what say you
I test drove the Tri Glide. Heavy... Sat on a Spyder RT Limited and was sold! So much fun and comfortable.
I do feel like there are more options on the tri glide to do a lift kit and such. But knock on wood haven't bottomed out on the spyder yet. Ride safe
Are your bars short reach bars from Canam? Year?
They are yes, it's a 2020 RTL. Bought it with them on and was sure I was going to put the regular bars back on. But after trying them, they are extremely comfortable on long rides! Just did 750 miles or so this weekend and it was great. Goo position for my arms.
I'm shocked you didn't mention the price, considering the most expensive Spyder costs less than half of what a Triglide costs...
Good point!
@@eranmaron909 I don't know where you saw a Triglide for under $40K. I haven't seen ANY HD 3 wheeler for less than $60K...
How far can you go on freeway 2 up one a tank of gas. I'm thinking about trading my 17 triglide in on a Rt
Ride safe!
My 22' RTL on the highway with my wife on the back goes about 225 miles with a gallon left in reserve.
How does the gas mileage compare with the tri-glide?
From the video. It looks like it's Bouncing around at Lot!!. But it's still a snowmobile with wheels.
do you miss the poor breaking of the standard trike?
LOL it does feel different ;)
I have no problem with Can Am Spyders or Tri- Glides doing an "iron butt" however, they should have to do twice the distance as a two wheeled motorcycle because of the advantages of having a third wheel. Trikes need their own separate category and requirements for the "iron butt".
Interesting take on it. Thanks for sharing!
Looks like a Sea 2 Sky?
Ride safe
Ride hard, get hard!
Ehhhh.... you want the rumble, clothespin a baseball card on the front wheels...
Best thing i ever did was when i got rid of my harley trike glide.
I liked mine, but I sure like the Spyder a lot and it's a better fit for my life situation now. Ride safe!
C4YT = Comment For TH-cam
Yippy a snowmobile with wheels
No Harley heat
YES I forgot about that... good additional info
Harley are harley nothing can beat it ,after all they just have to do something différents, like this canadien bike
Have fun whatever you ride, and ride safe!
We can’t watch this! Fish eye lense ultra wide angle ruined it. Exiting out
I do play around sometimes with the various lens settings, across the GoPro and the Insta360 cameras. Sorry you didn't enjoy this particular video.
Iron butt on a Spyder..😂…I see no challenge at all compared to doing on a bike. I surely wouldn’t tell anyone I did it….be like..whew..I did the iron but in my car….big deal….
To each his own. After 4 back surgeries and now basically limited to a Trike or Spyder, I will consider a 16+ hour ride a nice achievement for myself
I don't think that there is a class for 3 Wheel bikes for the Iron Butt...
I have emailed them to ask - will let you know what I hear. I hope I can do it on the Spyder!
Their reply was "yes, for sure!" so good to go on a Spyder!
Nice video. Comfort is #1. Oh yeah, having a trailer is kinda a necessity. Even if you don’t travel much, it can be used to go make groceries and hauling other stuff around for just you.
