  • Here we look at whether or not we can use AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to completely rewrite our car lighting Arduino application with little to no actual programming.
Do these tools spell the end of the need of programmers, or is the technology not there yet?

Thanks Andy, another great video, glad it's not just me that feels like chatgpt is either a severe amnesiac or trying to gaslight me. Keep them coming!!

I was hoping you were going to do an exact comparison, at least at the start where you gave chatgtp instructions to write code. But you didn't. For a good comparison you should've done the same beginning test for each one and then go from there instead of having one try to fix the code of the other.

Ah yeah, that could have been a good alternative angle, but in this one I was looking at utilising AIs to write the code I'd already made in the previous episode. I'll have a look at doing a future video where I do the same intro prompt to a bunch of different AIs and see how close they get and how they compare. That's a great idea!

1:05:51 1:10:17 For someone who doesn't know the programming language at all the answer to your question is a definite "No!".

Definitely going to record that video comparing different builder AIs in the next couple of days so hopefully we can find one that works for you

@@ValentineAutos I was just saying and was curious about some of this AI stuff. I know programming--learned Turbo Pascal, C, C++, Assembly, and some others back in college in the early to mid nineties--at least enough to make stuff happen and of course depends on the language since there are so many. My point is if someone tells someone with no programming experience they can just use one of these AIs to make their program for them so they don't have to ask or hire someone to do it for them then they are currently and completely misleading the non-programmer.

@@TheKuptis Yeah, you're right. I was inspired by the use-case though and just recorded a comparison of five different AI tools with a simple application setup to see if any of them could make it without any coding. Will be coming out tomorrow. It's pretty interesting seeing the differences between them
