I can't believe this was made into a tool. I remember something like this where you would press your hand into and see the shape on the other side as pins 😂
It's a copy of one that has been around since the 1980s. My dad still has the one I bought him back then. Of course they used metal pins then so you could get flush to surfaces.
As Tim the Tool Man Taylor days “Real men don’t need instructions.” And as ole Yogi Beer here says “I cut it three times and it’s STILL too short!” Love this channel!
Really like this tool! 👌 Thank you for sharing the tool in action! I'm going to check out buying at least one for myself, lol, but, for the men in my families, as well! Although I'm an older woman, I've worked a lot harder than most men, during my working yrs, and, men in my family know that I'm pretty constructionally inclined. I've enjoyed sharing my expertise, and this is a great gift! 😊
I d on t understand how these are being marketed like they’re a new invention? Profile gauges, they’re called in uk have been around since Adam was a boy.
You know this thing has been around since about 1950 right? My grandpa had a few when I was a kid, they were his since he was like 20... So I mean... It's NOTHING NEW. at. all. It's just cheesier and plastic verses the nice steel ones I've been seeing around my entire life.
I get why these are a thing, but unless you're cutting hard tile it's a waste of time and slows you down. Just get good with your knife. I use to get tired of seeing dudes use these and adding an extra like 10 minutes for a tile of carpet or something that shouldn't take more than a minute if you know how to control the tile and actually cut.

Yes! I loved that toy!
Oh yeah that toy thing...crazy I forgot about that. Sometimes its the simple things.
What you mean is: "I can't believe they made a tool into a toy"

AWESOME! Thanks!
I like this tool but it has a problem that you mentioned; it won't transfer details that are close to the floor say, on installed base moulding.
There are ones like the original from the 1980s that used metal pins that will.
Why wouldnt you just measure a piece that isnt on the floor?
Why not lay the baseboard flat?
Received one for Christmas and I think it is an interesting tool but I don’t know when I will have a need for it 😅
Does it make a difference which end you use to cut if I flip it, then I don’t get correct cut.
show de bola! greetings from Brazil
✌
very informative video, Thanks
Why are the faces of the pins angled like they are?
I purchased one and wonder the same thing ..
I love my Saker
Thanks for demonstration
What saw are you using please?
It's a Stanley fatmax coping saw 👍
nice one jb
Did he just say "Ear Defenders"
🤣😆🤣😆
Cool
As this is two years old, they've probably fixed that discrepancy, I would hope.
Possibly 🙄

Well you know in the US we tend to be creatures of habit and do things the hard way. Lol jk

@@papay100😂
i’ve seen plenty of examples where “wasting time” using this tool would have def been worth it for a better looking result.
@@dizzyvalentine just "git gud" with your knife!
