Damnit you're building a V8 mini with a sound system now I got to sub. It's funny I was putting my high school ride back on the road (1973 Lincoln Continental and I am 45) and I was just thinking about doing a custom radio like I would have liked to have been able to afford back when I was 21 years old (not two 12's wedged into a crappy box with a hifonics amp that constantly overheated because why wouldn't a kid brige his subs and then go to volume 11 all the time but I digress. Now you gave me some inspiration, I got my dash pieces to uncut (make stock) my terrible single DIN radio that was slightly crooked and I was thinking a center console with a radio and cup holders that flows with the interior. Anyways long story short you picked up a new subscriber.
I’m really enjoying these interior videos. And all videos in general of course I get excited every Wednesday. And every other one is pay day? Thats double pay
Thanks dude. I have alot of fun with interiors, and I was needing to do something fun. I'll have to pull it all out and bring it in the house so I can finish the truck 😆
Thanks man! Glad it inspired you! If you're ever in a creative rut, feel free to hit me up, send pics or whatever, a second set of eyes on a project is a second set of ideas!
Really like the way this is coming together!! Im new here so subbing and going back to see all the older vids...keep them coming mate, youre doing well
@LTscustomgarage I agree. I think where you have planned is as good as it gets for a seam, though. If you need to pick my brain, I used to do custom automotive upholstery before the Army. I enjoy passing on knowledge.
@kirkoglesby6175 right on. Customizing the interiors of my cars is what got me into custom cars, like 30 years ago lol it's still one of my favorite parts of a build. Except I haven't learned to sew. Always gotta take my seats to somebody. There's a sewing machine at work that used to be used for interiors of conversion vans but it's not used anymore. I was thinking about giving it a try. I've seen it done and I've helped, so I atleast have an idea of how it's done
@LTscustomgarage buy it or another. A good machine can be found pretty reasonable. I bought one not long ago for $400. No reverse, but I don't mind knotting the ends of my stitch. I suggest one with reverse if you are wanting a easy lock-in on your stitch. It's definitely a dying craft, unfortunately. You can buy almost anything these days. It's worth learning.
As per usual great infotainment , love hw your still rockin the ole skool BD power saw it does the job a tip for cutting maybe a piece of 2 inch hard foam garage door type insulation I think maybe just a few bucks and you lay your MDF on top of it set saw to 7/8 if that's 3/4 your using or 5/8 if its 1/2 and you got yourself a nice little somewhat portable and storable cutting board type surface make sense? Oh the interior looks grrrreat!👍👍
Oh yeah, that's a good idea. I'll have to pick some up. My dad gave me that saw when I was much younger, that thing might be older than me 😆 bit it still works great
Looks good... That is not fiberglass though... That is polyester and polyester resin. If you want things stronger you should try to use chopped mat fiberglass
Right, I've just always called it fiberglass resin. And it doesn't need to be strong so fleece is great and free and was laying on the floor ready to go 😆
Welcome back kotter on in the background...subscribed
Yup 😆 there's always something on that TV. Thanks for hanging out!

I'm 45 also. I would've lived a 73 continental in high school, and you still have it! How cool is that.
That looks great. The curves and the raised piece are a nice touch.
Thanks! I'm definitely happy with it
I think it looks great. You're doing an awesome job...
Thanks! I'm happy with it so far
Nice work Bud. It has the wrap around vibe of a early 60's T-Bird back seat. I love that look. 😎🔥🔥
I always wanted to get the interior out of one of those and use it in a custom build
i can smell the fiber glass from here omg it smells so good. i think that turned out badass cant wait to see it all come together
Garage smelled of it for days

Looks really cool. I like how simple you pieced it together. I am a big fan of K.I.S.S.
Thanks.
Brooooo, YES! This looks great! And, you inspired me once again with a creative rut I've been in doing my interior. Thanks!

Thank you! And glad to have you hangin out in the garage!
Looking good Lt. I definitely think use the felt and fiberglass to make similar pieces for the outside corners. Your on a roll.
Thanks. Yeah, the more seamless it is the better I think.

I get it at home depot
@LTscustomgarage ill have to check but all I ever see is 3/4 lol
I see it in 1/4" here in SW Florida too. Not sure if that was at the home depots where I'm originally from or not, but 1/2 and 3/4 for sure
