I've been watching West Coast Customs for years and I must say, this build is up there as one of the best I've seen. What they've done here is incredible.
Back in the early 2ks I thought this shop was a gimmicky joke but this is one of the coolest builds I’ve ever seen. Especially keeping all the electronics and dash gear. WOW.
My uncle fit a 1950 Dodge Pilot House onto an 87 Dakota frame back in like 1993 and it was his daily driver until the mid 2000s. It's been sitting ever since but it's been given to me since his passing. He was a legendary restoration mechanic who won many awards at Pebble Beach, San Marino, Monterey etc. I'm going to fix it up in his honor and use it as my go-to truck once it's done. This is a more modern version of that build 30 years later.
@@WestCoastCustomsTV I’ll make sure you do! I live 6 miles from your shop, I remember seeing that truck last time I was at the empire center. It looks great, lot of fabrication and talent went into it.
When they did Will.I.Am's corvette body swap like this on the og series i was blown away...dare i say they've only perfectly refined their craft! WCC still doing it!!
Nice job guys! Honestly my only suggestion would have been to put GMC badging on the inside (Denali steering wheel, door sills, etc.) to keep it matching the outside, but that’s just me.
I am in the mechanic & body industry. Grew up in my dad’s body shop. And omg the amount of work that went into this is mind blowing 🤯 this video maybe showed 20%. You have a talented team !!!
Excellent build. As soon as you mentioned that you were going to take it for an alignment, I knew that the quality was there! First time, I've ever heard a custom shop care about an alignment. Well done.
Hardest part is always the little things. Making the old and the new meet in the perfect way. All the gap filling, cutting, resizing, rewiring etc. Some people think it's just a cut and paste but it's not
I miss this show. Good stuff, and never feel like ya wasted your time watching it, like typical you tube shorts and junk. Bet that Snap On vest was like $9,000 dollars lol.
personally I would just do a swap everything from that escalade to the suburban while keeping the shell and (some of the) chassis. sure, perhaps there are benefits of making the suburban a monocoque. neverthless, this is a showcase of masterful craftmanship.
I just finished putting a 1956 Ford F 350 on a 2002 suburban frame for Big James Stewart and it turned out fantastic, frame is back from powdercoat now and I have some body work left, the wheel base was exactly the same. You do awesome work guys, keep on truckin ❤❤❤❤
Dude, the starship Discovery was pretty cool. I hope at some point in the video you tell the audience how much it cost to do this swap for the customer including the interior. I’m thinking somewhere around 125-135K easily.
I have been watching you from Hungary since 2004, which is also worthy of the names. Unique transformations, interesting things that are put into it, thanks to the west coast team
I couldn't even guess the pricetag that comes with this amazing build. The unique parts, the fabrication work and adjustments, the hours, the expertise and the 2 vehicles... mindblowing but very very nicely done.
i just seen a video the other day that said you closed down and work mcdonalds drive thru now. no bullshittin actually seen that vid. i knew it was b.s. the work your shop produces is outstanding. this suburban is making me drool. keep up the amazing work.
Ryan I love your show. I have been watching for over a decade. In this day and age I just hope that all your employees are legal citizens. More power to them if they are.
Amazing creativity and flawless execution. I would love to be in the Cadillac dealership when that comes in for some maintenance and watch the service writer freak out.
This is one of the best i have seen, this episode is dope.. Would appreciate if link to such old builds you referenced in the intro video , can be tagged accordingly. So one can watch again and see the growth of perfection.. Cheers from NGN
Something they Pioneered..hot rodders since 1950s have been doing body swaps . They're more custom with a C and less custom with a k 😅 ....cool daily driver though ...Need metal flake
I'd love one of these with an old Dodge Power Wagon body on a new chassis 🤤🤤🤤 If I ever get to the point of financially being able to buy 2 trucks to wreck so I can build 1, I'm calling you guys. Might even have you build 1 with the old chassis and new body so those dont go to waste 🤯
1K away From 1M Subs. Congrats. I have been hearing a lot about Viacom and Pimp My ride as well as a spin off on tv. I hope you guys are apart of this. *Please Do More Mini Truck Content*
You guys are amazing the things you guys do there are things that other places just will not do keep up the great work guys can't wait to see the next one
Overall a masterpiece. I'm not a fan of the copper though. I think I would have gone with the off white that was already being used as accents. I think it would look better if it was lowered a bit too. It wouldn't need to be anything crazy, but it has a very high stance. Also since there was clearly so much money involved, an Escalade V would have been the cream of the crop!
I've been watching West Coast Customs for years and I must say, this build is up there as one of the best I've seen. What they've done here is incredible.
Guess you skipped the past ten years
@@DaveyCrockett1Don't be a douche, it's his opinion.

The workforce is impeccable! Very talented employees.
Not exactly the choice of wheels I would've chose, but you guys knocked this build out of the park. This Suburban is an absolute art piece!
Yeah Those Wheels Are Trash..
Why do people ALWAYS cry about the wheels that are on someone else's vehicle? Let's act like jealous girls!
Agree, it would look better with a more period correct looking wheel
@@C_71 Or…. We’re Just Simply Sharing An Opinion.
Needs some 26inch All gold Daytons n Vouges. Dayton needs to make a set of 26 in for this build alone. Nice job guys.
the donor truck should have been a GMC yukon denali going with the heritage
Agree
Why not a top end Suburban?
When they did Will.I.Am's corvette body swap like this on the og series i was blown away...dare i say they've only perfectly refined their craft!
WCC still doing it!!
The copper instead of chrome or stainless is freaking sick!! Wcc set the bar way high on this build!!
Nice job guys! Honestly my only suggestion would have been to put GMC badging on the inside (Denali steering wheel, door sills, etc.) to keep it matching the outside, but that’s just me.
Wow, this is 1000% better than the show. Great build, thanks
This is how you build your youtube channel better!! Clean editing and right to the point on the build. Short and sweet. Bad ass nice job guys.

Killer Build! Not sure why they left the stock muffler, but that shop has so much talent. Awesome Job!
Excellent build. As soon as you mentioned that you were going to take it for an alignment, I knew that the quality was there! First time, I've ever heard a custom shop care about an alignment. Well done.
1:11 - 'And you're gonna be done'
You gonna be just getting started, what a lot of work. This is an awesome resto-mod!
That's a beaut. Custom styling has no rules, that's why I love it. I always say maybe not my taste or my ride but someone who did the work took pride🎉
Hardest part is always the little things. Making the old and the new meet in the perfect way. All the gap filling, cutting, resizing, rewiring etc. Some people think it's just a cut and paste but it's not
If the rolling chassis you took out would follow me home, I'd ask the Ol' Lady if I could keep it. Good looking build btw.
I dunno about a 2 door/3rd row SUV... but this is 🔥🔥🔥💯

Been about a decade since I visited the shop in Cali. Great experience for a young fella and I still have my shirt...
probably my favorite build. thanks for bringing us along.
i love the way he talks, its so respectful. Awesome car too btw
Too beautiful to drive, should be in an art gallery. Bravo Zulu to the lads at West Coast Customs, a million dollar build no doubt.
Great work, you combined the past and the present in one car. Good luck to all. My sincere greetings from Algeria.
Thank you very much!

The thickness difference in old and modern body is crazy

Nice to know they’re still in business. When you drive by their shop in Burbank it looks abandoned and destitute.
Piece of art. Great job guys.
Love the build and going back to your roots . Keep the body swops coming

I thought the RR dope. This SUBURBALADE or ESCALURB hell just call it Fred is incredible.

Based on how much wider the difference was. Change the controll arms. If rear end is independent. Do the same. Solid rear, cut left and right side.
