How did you run the break lines?
Havnt yet, stay tuned! Probably using bulk head fittings in the kickbpanels out to behind the fenders
What a amazing video tru so helpful and knowledgeable
LT, I know this is a little premature but, would you consider doing a collab with me? That's the best prom proposal I could come up with. Seriously, I would be interested in you pinstriping my 65 Ranchero (once I get it drivable). Think it over, let me know.
Yeah when the time comes we can try to make that happen. Where are you located again?
@LTscustomgarage I'm in Indiana. I could probably bring the car to you.
Could possibly meet you at camp n drag in waveland, or I'll be at symco every year in Wisconsin. Or if you wanna bring it all the way down here that's cool too. We can work somethin out.
@LTscustomgarage camp and drag is on my list for 2025
@DCAutoEnhancement i may or may not be there this year, depends on a bunch of things that are up in the air right now and out of my control.
These videos always give me motivation to work on my Luv. Thanks and keep at it 💪
That's really cool to hear man, thank you for that.
One step closer ... pretty cool stripe pictures ... don't forget to take a Christmas break ...
A could use a break 😆
I know your frustration. I'm 72 and look for stuff just like you. I tell myself move on it it will show up..😂😂😂😂
And it usually does, or you come up with some other ways around it
Dude you crack me up...
😆 I think i just say out loud what we're all thinking while doing this stuff
Fiddly for sure but you kicked its ass mate!! Another big step closer... also just received my merch, many thanks for freighting to Down Under,,, the quality of the shirt is awesome for those wondering if they should buy something and help LT out...get on it peeps
Glad it all made it there and ya like it!
Do you remember building the " Rat Fink " model kit as a kid ?
I actually never got the chance
Mini trucker over 40 checking in! Love the videos keep them coming. Maybe make a video on the basics on pinstriping. In just getting started trying to teach my self wondering if what kind of paint you can and can't use. How to load a brush. Ect thanks
Id love this also...
I totally intend to. got some things coming up soon and might not be able to work on the truck for a couple weeks, so that's one video we'll definitely be doing.
just put together a harbor freight 5 drawer roll around cabinet and the first sticker on it was a LTS CUSTOM GARAGE ONE!
Nice! I gotta get some more stickers designed and made up, ill send you more when I do!
Dang that requires way too much patience. lol. I knew you could knock it out though. Merry Christmas bud. 🎁🎄🎁
Merry christmas ti you too! Hope all is well up there
Merry Christmas to you and happy new year. You work the same way I do even though it may be close you got it done right. I'm new to this channel what type of truck did it start out as
Merry christmas to you as well. It's a 1978 Chevy LUV.
@@LTscustomgarage thank you for that info info little to small for my 6'4" body 😂
@firelord71 yeah there's not much room in there for 5'9" self lol
I wondered why your garage looked different in these older videos. As a fellow midwesterner I understand why you moved to Florida, too humid for me though. Great idea with the bed liner.
Yeah, got sick of the cold and had a midlife crisis 🤣 love the weather here, but miss home.
@ Love Florida but I love the 4 seasons, woods, lakes, rivers, corn fields, favorable business environment and low cost of living, etc.
@@UnconventionalMetal Florida is a great place to vacation, for most of us living and working here isn't as great
Magnets definitely affect weld quality
Kinda silly it never crossed my mind.
@ I discovered it when my arc was drawn to the magnet. Makes sense being electrical.
@UnconventionalMetal as soon as it's was said to me it made total sense 😆
Remember, only the most real ass car guys do body and paint because they have the testicular fortitude to not lie to themselves and everyone else by saying they wanted or endorse all that “Patina” nonsense !!! 🤣🤣🤣
🤣 definitely not going that route!
@ I knew that just by watching you work sir.. that being said, feel the body work, embrace the body work.. be….. the body work.. and affirmations help, just keep saying “I love the body work” 😎💯
@mrgreezy1 🤣 ill try... try. Not sure how many times I can tell myself I love body work till I call myself a lier, but either way, it's gettin done if I enjoy it or not!
Great video bud. Looking good as always. One step closer 🫡
@magicman_metal_fab thanks man, gotta stay busy on it, the little details take forever
I love watching all the work you put into details!! Especially fully knowing I’m the exact opposite and will fix it all with Zip Ties 😂
😆 hey man, zip ties are one of the most handy tools you can get!
You're welcome LT. I mentioned how I used one on the Aveo Ute roll pan.
It worked out well
@LTscustomgarage definitely a clean transition. I dig the front lip as well.
@kirkoglesby6175 it worked out good.
Looking great!! 🤙
Thanks buddy
Well done, another custom panel pretty much done !! If that pinstripe art was a failure I’m sure many would be happy to give it a home 😉
Pretty much done. We'd totally finish it if I knew the fenders are were they need to be. I wouldn't call the pinstripe peice a failure, but I'm not happy with it. somebody will end up with it someday anyway though, hopefully they're happier with it than I am 😆
That's filler rod ... it just happens tp look like coat hanger wire ... I was right about the magnets ... 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow ... bet you're missin it ... not ...
I am not missing the cold snow at all 😆 although it's snowbird season down here and that's equally as annoying. Can't drive or park anywhere
challenge for ya hook an air tool to the hose and not hit the trigger lol
Can't do it! 🤣 I tried to quit, cant. Hey thanks for the Christmas card btw
That's like tying something down and not saying "That ain't goin' nowhere." It's impossible. haha
@jayinmi3706 🤣 can't not do that either
Looks amazing, nice work!
Thanks! I'm definitely happier with it
The metal in a coat hanger is usually of too inconsistent of quality, making it unreliable for welding and potentially leading to poor weld quality, burn-through, and safety concerns; it's best to use dedicated welding rods designed for the specific welding process you are using.. so that's why using those is bad 😆
I've also heard that the coating on hangers can be a problem. Didn't stop me from trying it, but I probably won'tt doo it again. I did clean the coating off at least.
@jayinmi3706 im sure they have a rust proofing coating of some sort that effects the weld. The extra mig wire twisted together works pretty good.
That grinder blade has earned its keep! 😂
They're good to the last drop! 😆
Nice! I’ve owned a 58 ragtop Beetle for 25 years. I could never own one without it now. People always think they will leak. I’ve driven during storms and not a drop of water comes in. One thing I that might be different about the VW design is that the top pulls down to the roof as it is closed towards the front. My roof also has a raised lip pressed into it at the front of the hole. But, it stays dry because the water just goes down the sides of the top into the rain gutters. This looks like a pretty good kit, because they have to replicate all the added structures that an OE rag has. It’s just as complicated as any add on kit. My car also requires holes in the roof, multiple track pieces, plastic sliders, etc. What I like about your kit is that it was already curved. THAT is what keeps water out. Also, the hook and handle design is exactly like my car. I grew up in the 80’s and my dad owned a Chevy Luv for the entire decade. Lots of memories
Right on! Love an old beetle with a ragtop. Legacy makes a quality top for sure. They definitely do their research on what you tell them it's going on and make the parts accordingly.
Do you have any footage of your dash build? Trying to figure out how I should install my 56 in my76 Toyota build. Weld, clip or bolt it in, haven't figured it out yet. Love your videos they push me to be motivated on my build lol.
Unfortunately not, started youtube after I had it in there. I talk about it and show pics in one video though, I think it's the one I did body work on it. It was sectioned into 4 peices and welded in. Thanks for hangin out with me btw!
As a Ford guy who's into really old steel and unconventional engines, this particular episode didn't have much for me. However... I'm REALLY digging this project and your channel. I like your overall style & presentation, and as for the project, well, a 70s Chevy Luv is not at all something I would expect to like, but I really like the slammed stance, suicide doors, & 3x2 setup. You're doing really cool things with an uncommon platform. Super cool.
Thank you sir! I really appreciate that and you taking the time to say it. My goal with the channel is to make it fun for every car guy, no matter what we're building, so that means a lot, thank you 🤙
Those little things that take time. Those little things that often get neglected. Glad to see you accomplishing things on your truck. One step closer bud. 🫶🏻🫡
Thanks buddy. So many little things to do. Hope you're enjoying your new place
As a man who’s been a gentleman’s club Dj for over 20 yrs, I still to this day will never understand why women have and use as much hair spray as much as they do.. just throw curlers in it ! Leave the dam crusty chemicals alone ! Know what I’m saying ??? 🤣
🤣 turns out my wife didn't even know she had it.
@ sounds about right.. my mother has so much crap in her bathroom it looks like the health and beauty aids department at Walmart.. 🤣

@@LTscustomgarage I got you boss man.
@pawpatina appreciate it!

That's all we can do, slowly but surely
I was just workin on my TV cable ... they have to be pretty precise ... I have to change the filter in the case so I can set the off throttle setting by lookin at the plunger in the inside ... it's supposed to be just touchij the plunger at rest ... then bottomed out at exactly full thottle ... the factory cables have that slide adjustment like the 350 cable does so it self adjusts ... I'm likin all the mods you made ... very tastful ... by the way ... 30 below chill factor up here tonight ... again ... consider yourself lucky ...
Yeah, definitely gotta make sure it's all right. I'll probably be revisiting this when I get it driving 😆
LT gets his moneys worth out of a grinder blade! lol😂

my buddy did a step side in the 80s,extended cab with 2 cabs. full roll bar, ford 9inch 4 link rear disc. 350 with a 4sp, some kinda trick hydraulic clutch. hand built flares, old enkie gold center wheels. same red as this,i have 1 or 2 pics of it.
Sounds cool! The extended cab is intriguing, not much room in these trucks
The pedal turned out good! I'm going to need to shorten all of mine up soon they are way to close to the carpet, This might be a better solution !
Sometimes it's easier to just start from scratch lol unless you need the factory look, but even then there's lots of options with these after market pedals, ones that might look oem
Wish you well brother. Imma pay you to edit my videos 🤣😂🤣
🤣 I wouldn't even know what to charge for something like that. I mean, it kinda sounds fun, I enjoy doing it.
Great video as always! Shout out to my buddy at classic minitrucks coming in with the stickers. He's a good guy for sure, known him for years.
Right on! I just put another one of his stickers on my welder cart. Covered up the last one with the sheet metal break I attached to it. Was pretty stoked when I came across another one
Another great episode... please tell me the throttle pedal itself wasnt bolted to the studs tight...lol.. those cables make it easy ( er)
Thanks! And nope, its not tightened, doesn't even have nuts on it yet.

Yeah a bit more than I was expecting! Closer i get to done the more things are trying to occupy the same space
We always call those "Jesus" clips ... everytime you tried to install one it went flying and then you yelled ... JESUS ... gonna be single diget chill factor tonight up here ... consider yourself lucky ...
😆 yup, that's what I call the window crank retainer clips. It was a brisk 70 degrees here today 😆
Ya, up in Vancouver Canada we also called those clips " Jesus " clips. Same with the clips that hold the old door handles on.
My pops (lts custom garage) taught me that’s the name and I have no clue what the real name is.
LT out there getting it done!

@LTscustomgarage cool that she is willing to help.
I think so. Dogs aren't much help so it's nice that she's willing to hold a wrench
