- It was my deepest pleasure to gather views and insights from Prof. (Dr.) Jagbir Singh on the Sikhi Way of Life.
Professor Sahab is a great exponent of #Vedanta and #Gurmat both and listening to him brings not just a greater understanding of the world we live in, but also peace of mind.
We also delve into the foundational (but somehow also confusing and contentious) issue of: What/Who constitutes a Sikh?
Joining us in this discussion is my frequent reference for #Sikh history through a purely analytical lens, #PuneetSahani. Puneet always brings up historic facts that are challenging at first but invariably offer a more holistic perspective in appreciating our great spiritual movement of Sikhism.

When is prof going to translate gurbani into English?
Just one comment, Mr. Sahani said that Maharaja Ranjit Singh gave the Koh-i-Noor to Jagannath Puri temple. This is absolutely wrong and seems mischievous play with History. Koh-i-Noor was "acquired " by the British from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh's family!!
You’re right Kamaljeet Ji. I regret the mis-statement. Maharaja Ranjit Singh only willed the Kohinoor to be donated to Jagannath Puri upon his death. But this wish of his was never fulfilled in the chaos and confusion that accompanied his death - and when the empire collapsed for good a decade later in 1849, the British took it with them to England.
Though I was less than accurate on a factoid, I believe the point still holds and is not undermined in the least. Thanks for pointing it out though.
