That is the players choice, questing and dungeons are as fast, or even soloing dungeons (my hunter 40 48 in 4 hours in ulda solo) the leveling experience was buying boosts for many anyway, and people are massively always crying about blizz needs to skip it so they can make more ALTS and they tune the xp again and again, when to get a 60 in era you need a week woah so much time so slow!
I think that is the reason why so many ppl think that the players are destroying there experience. Yes Incursions where badly executed... But if YOU do something YOU dont like for several hours just because its the meta. Noone can be blamed for you not having fun outside of yourself. I tried them out. It was horrible so i stepped away and questet like usuall...
Players are going to degen whatever the fastest way is. It doesn’t matter if its incursions or raid SM spam like what happened when classic era first came out. When incursions didn’t exist from 25-40 what was is? Regular SM spam
It's a little bit of both...we as players need to be less degenerate, but devs need to read the room too. Most of us could have told them it was a bad implementation.
I am REALLY glad for the downtime i SoD. I needed a break, but the way wow works makes me feel like I'm lagging behind as soon as I stop playing for a day. Spring cleaning and irl stuff started to pile up behind me plus I wanted to play some other games as well, so I just had to let go of my keyboard. This slow period makes me excited for the next phase and lets me actually be ready for it instead of just trying to keep up with everything all at once.
They really missed the mark on what made Season 1 so great... Feels like they have one foot into seasonal experiments and the other foot in long-term grinds. We need account-wide progression in this format!
I hate to admit that I also fell off the SOD hype train with phase 3. I'm honestly not sure if I have it in me to get the momentum going again at this point. However, just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed your channel/content over these months and I plan on sticking around to see what happens in the future. Keep your head up, homie. Regardless of what Blizzard decides to do, you've got a real talent for this and I hope you continue to find success along your journey.
@@Zotob1975 I hate this argument because everyone who is not completely new to wow knows classic is based around 40 mans raids.. so complaining about 20 mans is half baked
Been riding with ya homie ever since we met, nothing but a good and humble guy on some real shit 💯 Truly one of the best channels on TH-cam and always locked in 🔒much luv to ya gang!
The first phase was awesome. The big world with a lot of secrets, exciting quests that required traveling across the world and avoiding high-level mobs. Tons of people in leveling locations made it feel lively, and the leveling experience was not too time-consuming. All the next phases were about sitting in dungeons until reaching max level and trying to farm raids if you had a meta spec...
@@keelhld94 Incursion for fast leveling may seem innocent but it killed the economy for everyone. And just because we're Dads doesn't mean we do everything blindly cause it's fast. Incursions Suck!
I feel called out lol. "ingest some videos while...you're doing the dishes" 8:50 I'm that guy washing the dishes while watching... Thanks for the content and news! SOD-Hype!
In my perspective, level 25 was the best. It didn’t take long to level alts, the amount of abilities made it accessible to newer players, and the content encouraged everyone into a small region.
You make some good points. But its important to remember SoD is a SEASON. They made it clear this was mostly for them to see what kind of things they can do and find out what works and what doesnt. Yes p3 was a disaster, but they learned from it hopefully. Plus they said after SoD there will be more new stuff... we just need to be patient and let them cook. It was fun while it lasted and Im sure p4 will be extremely fun also. Just go play cata for a bit :P
People replicate ''''p3 was a disaster''''' '''''''incursions suck''''' '''there is no content''' and other stuff like that but they cannot give a single solid point, p3 was genius, try me ill prove you wrong to everything
@@quentinblanc7978 you mean not powerful enough? I can answer everything, think how onslaught girdle in mc was bis till naxx with 2 better raids not having an upgrade? And even if you got the naxx belt it doesnt give double stats, that is how vanilla is, at 25 they gave those powerful helmets that nothing existed even close, we dont want all raid items to be super strong because then it will be bfd meta where full raid gear is bis and 1 boe thieves mantle. now the engineering bracers sound rly shit since we have engin 2 phases now and it only gave boring stuff to the point i wish i had enchanting or alch. But really you need to take those raids as levelup raids, raids that in the future people will only maybe run once until 60, their items are similar and "not tempting" to get. When in era you go to aq from months farming bwl mc you notice the same thing, only a few items are op and maybe the others trade say stamina for a bit of useful stats, it was always like this they cannot just make more powerful gear, its the first time they also gave a set bonus, and the first time they actually made lots of different items that can drop, i still dislike the fist meta 2 phases now that wars shamans and hunters reserve every run we have 5 softres in a 20% chance weekly drop, that you need 2 items to set, thank god im ranged but i dislike that, apart from this loot design (the items i can read at least, rogues and hunters) was very into the point, doing alterations with your current gear but not being 60 level powerful, also the looks of the gear, oh my god that is not 40 not 60, it is pure 50 looks
This + I feel like it sucks knowing you can get and learn a rune at level 1 but the rune is in a level 40+ zone. Either add more ways to get them, or add an actual level requirement to learn them.
@@Dylbr00 better, mmorpgs were about main character development over many many expansions, even if all runes is max 2 days, xp buff is active and wsg rep is 1k daily for doing nothing for over a month now
Oh no disagree. I actually really enjoy going rune hunting. What I don’t like is when it requires 2 or more people mandatory like the static shock rune. Because it is challenging to find anyone to even lift their finger to help you.
been saying this all along, i treated sod as a single player game until i just stopped logging on i enjoyed my time hated pretty much every interaction with people outside my guild
Servers like chaosbolt had an amazing community. People were really friendly and server reputation mattered. I quit 3 weeks after playing on Crusader strike because 90% of player interactions I had were negative and went back to Turtle WoW
Unfortunately true. I had fun leveling and doing low-level dungeons and stuff. But when it came to raid culture, man was that shit EXHAUSTING lmao. I parsed well too. It wasn't that I'm bad at this (to me) extremely easy game. It's more that others felt it necessary to be dicks about it and lose the spirit of what it was we were doing. Sad tbh.
🙋♂️The dad that comes home after working 8-10 hours a day and I don’t have time to level an alt so I’ve turned to raid logging on my SoD main and playing cata because it fits my time now.
Same right here buddy. I honestly didn't think I was going to play cata myself, even though it was my most played time ever. It feels like the right amount of grind, leveling, rep, etc., for the time invested in it. Classes feel like they have their full kit and feel more balanced.
So.. I stopped playing SoD because of the incursions. The people who got to spam those before the nerfs got way ahead of everyone else. Not only that, but I can’t even do those because horde are so outnumbered on my server.
yeah, humans before you have succeeded in real life too and had it easier, you should just give up and not try because other people existed before, right? This, you, this sentence, is the very root and core issue of the gaming world and World as a whole, let alone with SoD To judge your own life potential based off of the subjective experiences of others is so flawed
@@MadolcheGabbanaGreat point. Private servers stay up longer and have people join randomly through the servers life and it works fine. So many wow players need to be led by a carrot through the content.
20 man raids killed it. 40 man's will nail the coffin. 15 man's might be the sweet spot, but for a casual experience, there is nothing casual about coordinating 20+ people un raids and it's exhausting
Prob in the minority but I want an endless grind for pvp even like a extra rank system or item boxes. Maybe after exalted with pvp factions. I wanna get back to bg spams but I feel it’s best to take a rest before p4 as it’s gonna be nuts getting to rank 9 and above.
Hey man love the channel, and your right even though I’ve had ton of time to do alts… the system is just so redundant and a time suck it’s soul draining trying to level alts. During phase 1 I got 4 25, phase 2, 3 of those 25s got to 40, but I got my hunter to 50 in phase 3 and after they nerf nightmares I found it pointless to level my pally and mage. Too damn time consuming and the new ruin aren’t available Immediately to help. I’d rather have these new vendors just sell me runes and honestly if you could buy account bound tokens from these vendors, that boost your alts to the max level character you have that would be awesome! And boost grants you all runes! But yeah I liked sod to start but I’m sticking with cata, but thanks for all the great content man!!!
Very well spoken as always man. I would love to see the Mythic+ dungeon system be implemented into the next phase and see how it goes. I went back to retail (a couple months ago) after I stopped playing in literally 2014 because WoD just lost me completely. I’m bummed I missed Legion but Dragonflight has been very enjoyable for me and I’m excited for what The War Within has to offer. I sincerely think they could perfectly blend all the good features of classic and retail and make classic+ a beautiful product. I’ve been a classic Andy since 2007 when I started playing but I think it’s critical that the players and developers look at all products of WoW with an unbiased perspective(easier said than done) to try and move World of Warcraft as a whole in the right direction.
You don't have to worry , you have one of the best channels currently. You're doing work there. Even after what has happened in SoD , i'm still no negative towards it... I'm just sitting to see what's next for it. They made BIG mistakes in P3 overall, but that can change in P4. The reason i don't play now is mostly because of incursions and server issues which made my server close and still i haven't pick where to go because they don't have an equivalent option...they have RP-PvP and PvE...However , that's not the only thing... I haven't played much DF , so i went to get some things going ...the fun part ...transmogs/mounts etc. play Blitz for PvP , experimenting with builds... Nothing serious just messing around having fun. Also i re-started playing some GW2 , mainly PvP. I won't go Cata... i had the thought go play some , but i don't like that advancing expansions they do to be honest, i don't want to re-play my whole career in WoW. I want to log in , PvP with whatever i want ...get out do other things. Also i will play TWW , i saw SP/VW ...and the thing is so eye pleasing that i don't care if it will be good or bad i'll make it work! It deserves it. People did good work on it , they deserve recognition! And i'm not someone that sticks to visuals... but the thing looks amazing, it seems to have flow (big deal)... but i can work with good flow even if numbers aren't something to be impressed. So in general , yes, it's a downtime for WoW ...but not for bad reasons...
the point about not having enough time for more than 1 alt, is spot on. I work M-F 8-4 pm and once phase 2 hit I completely gave up on my alt. The runes probably being the main reason for it, there are just too many and getting them all is so time consuming. My main is all I can keep up with and I really wish I could play my 2 alts. Maybe when 60 hits they will make this a bit more casual friendly..
This phase has been fine, it has just been WAY too long. With Blizzard recycling the STV PVP content and not releasing AV, this phase should have been the absolute shortest and it has turned out to be the longest. Next phase is the phase that has always made or broken this game. We will be 60. We will be in MC, AV, etc. The rep grind there needs to be abridged or the game will die. The legendary mats need to be updated or the game will die. The raid needs to be hard but still tuned for a group of 20 or the game will die. The set updates need to be balanced or the game will die. I believe that they will have all this taken care of, especially with all of this extra time. Let's wait and see!
Part of the reason you and most others are feeling that way is do to Nightmare Incursions. The normal Classic WoW leveling and Raiding loop is... 1. Do Quests in the Open World because they give the best XP tell you run out of quests or gear gets outdated... 2. Do Dungeons to get some much needed gear upgrades. 3. Repeat 1 and 2 tell max level. 4. Head to this dungeon and that dungeon for gear upgrades NEEDED for Raid. In the current cycle Blizzard should have made it so that a few PHASE BiS pieces dropped in dungeons. Sul'thraz for example. As a PvPer for example MUCH of my needed BIS gear comes from dungeons and so I have a rather long list of things to do which is entertaining. Anyways... hopefully you can see how Nightmare Incursions = Kills 1, 2, and 3. And there being no Raider needed loot in dungeons kills #4. What is WORSE is that mobs are to easy to kill. The open world isn't threatening... and dungeons likewise are a JOKE compared to Classic ERA on progression. This REALLY hurts the Progression... because why upgrade my gear every 5 levels when I can do it every 10? Why get Pre-Raid BiS when the raid is a Joke? Why do ANY OF THAT when the R7 PvP gear is INSANELY well optimized for PvE? Why Make Gold when... You get the idea... Honestly I think the PvP gear thing is a MAJOR issue here as well. Dungeon Gear should be INSANELY good on DPS Stats... low on Stam... and PvP gear should be as is... well rounded and Stam Heavy. Raid Gear should also be Well Rounded. One of the ways Classic WoW Balanced all this... was that they made the PvP gear Set bonuses effect Class Abilities in EXACTLY the way you would want for PvP. This has a Balancing Effect Because the RAID GEAR is still BETTER in total Stats then the PvP gear. Maybe slightly less Stam. But its missing Ability CD or Cost Reduction for PvP abilities.
As the dad with kids who comes home after work I will tell you the progression speed is fine. I'm still loving the game because I only get an hour or two a day to play.
Fuck man. You're good. Love this channel, Imma follow it no matter what state SoD is - I got out after 1st phase because of outer factors, but ur content keeps me in the loop. I like it. Thanks
Think this is fair man, ill keep watching so long as you cover wow related things! SoD may have brought a lot of attention, but keep building man, i think most of the community feels the same and what we really want is like you said "something to chill out with and watch whilst we are gaming or eating etc"
Haven’t been playing WoW so I haven’t been around the channel in a while. I enjoyed this video a lot, no BS just solid thoughts and observations. Always wishing you and your family blessings.
SoD has been a blast so far. Everyone knows that nothing matters till 60 and we are all the test subjects for this experiment. I am absolutely stoked to re-max another paladin with some obscure sword board spec and see what happens. Ad Victoriam, lets fucking goooooooooo!!!
This might be an unpopular opinion but, I respect them taking more time for the big phase to be something more productive. I felt like phase 1 was amazing because, it was community focused and the 10 man raids were perfect to get everyone involved. What they did wrong though was revamp the gear to be way too powerful and fell away with communicating with us because of cata. Bringing in a PTR is going to be great too because we can finally help make SOD a perfect version that can continue and hopefully get it's own streamline run as a real server. Remember the devs are trying their best but we do have to be crucial when they don't tell us that our cata beta reports weren't used because, they have no official readers for the bugs. I appreciate what you do as well for giving us really good info and unbiased input as well. Enjoy the channel and can't wait to see more!
Classic will catch up to retail, classic and retail realms merge into one retail realm list. SoM, SoD, MoP Remix, Plunderstorm, and future gamemodes are to test what will be in the next Warcraft MMO, perhaps an alternate branching timeline from the original, a completely new story, or time period for the setting. Wether that be Classic+ or WoW 2, we will have to see. At Blizzcon they said they wanted to be ready for the next 20 years of storytelling.
I absolutely adored the first phase of SoD, the second phase was ok but I found it much harder to get into. And I just haven't touched phase 3. I genuinely think that the best thing about phase 1 was how quick it was to get started. Getting from level 1 to 25 can be done in a day or two of fairly relaxed levelling, grabbing a few prebis pieces from the AH, you could get into the raid pretty damn fast. And though this is now more a personal preference, my all time favourite part of the game is that early levelling in Classic. It's simple, cozy and easy to get into. Anything after level 30 starts to just bore me, it starts to feel like a slog to level. I would get so frustrated seeing everyone hype up over the next phases, "MY CHARACTER WILL POP OFF AT LEVEL 40". Ok, sure, but no one wants to play anymore. Most people don't wanna grind levels out anymore, we've DONE that SO MUCH for 20 damn years. My honest opinion is that they could fix all the problems by having everyone immediately hit level 60 upon levelling past 24, and for all the new content to be level 60 versions of raids. Literally no one cares about levelling anymore. It's done. Just give up that high level content, THAT'S what we want.
@@stndpenguin well one not every server is a PvP server so that point is kind of moot. But also dungeon grinding and leveling slower decreases the amount of gold in the economy and thus lowers inflation substantially. That’s the difference. Not making an alt and generating 600 gold in a hour or 2 and repeating
Incirsions are just a wprst option of open world quests, they should have just invested in nice rpg questlines to make them more fun and interactive, classic was about that: finding mankirks wife, doing the stalvan quest line etc. It s a shoot and miss scenario in p3
Right! No structural narrative --- the whole thing is so disjointed, I get the appeal of many deecentralized storylines, but it's way too divergent imo. They could have also changed what NPC's across the world say in relation to the danger of the incursions or w/e.
I don't think we will need additional gameplay loops like valor points from retail/future expacs considering the huge catalogue of raids that will be available at level 60. We'll have 4 different raids to do after only a few weeks according to the most recent blue post. There is a lot to do at 60 imo.
Nice video hitting on the phase 3 issues vs just what's going on around it. Literally 4 versions of wow to play, less carrot to chase in Sod vs the other games. The swap to 20 man once a week reset is the one real issue with how people raid log. Why would I level an alt if i can barely get a raid in on my main is aa issue i face now. The classic world is one of the best worlds in the game. They really needed to lean into that with SoD. There is stuff to still do so is annoying for people to just spam say its "dead". For example I did world pvp at darkmoon faire this week and had a blast. Just there was no carrot to chase, but say imagine a pvp quest that was like go kill 100 players in the world, or go farm some random mobs for x drop. Instead of incursions.
phase 3 is so strange from when it got announced. the first 3 weeks felt so busy doing mara. doing incursions . getting the new runes . getting bis / pre bis from BRD. new stv items. professions. now it's just raid log and i am finally leveling my first alt .
I got 17 days played at 50 and i am at 1/3 of my prep for next phase, even if finished with the current content, with the new item changes i even need 1 more belt bis from raid
the moment i started doing incursions since phase 3 release i already knew there wont be much left to do but to some preps for phase 4 wich is also not fun alone
@@ingineru1337 incursion is just an EXTRA goldfarm, how does that ruin the game for you. P3 they added incursion system, they added card system, wild offering system, professions new specs, bis preraid is half from dungeons, even an easter egg in brd, they literally added way more content than any phase before???? Explain!
I leveled in circles for SOD, when I hit 50 I couldn't stomach to continue running in circles. Went back to era for the Deviate delight kinda fresh rereoll.
I mined in circles for years in the same zone epl and never thought i would find it repetitive, mmorpgs are not unending content games, they have repetitive loops of farming, like farming outdoor mobs, gathering, doing dungeons bgs or raids, the content is the same, and farmable, and thats what people do, and play this game
Mop remix, cata, and plunderstorm is the cause of too many projects going off at once with the new retail expansion on the horizon. A perfect exsample of corporate greed
I despise the idea of heroics or mythic content. It becomes daily chores. I log in and play with the same guild I've been playing with since day one of classic. We find our own fun. Farming rare drops and rep, speed running 5 man's, raiding, leveling and gearing alts. Some of it is frustrating. Some of it is tedious. But we enjoy the time together. I agree that a lot of the problems stem from the inability to easily catch up alts. And that is the only time, in my opinion that having daily content (dailies) makes sense. A daily 5 man (not heroic version) quest to kill a specific boss that drops a boa random rune. That way, if you don't want an alt, it doesn't matter, but if you do, it's an easy thing to help and, it wouldn't make it a necessary thing to do to increase a mains power.
Clearly in the minority here but I love the incursions. Perfectly fits with the way I want to play outside of raiding. Great for levelling alts and for grinding out mount money.
They should just stop at phase 3 and do a lessons learned. I think at this point it's too far gone to even salvage for phase 4. I rather see them relaunch with a revamp. Phases is ultimately what the problem is. Why try when the gear is easily replaced? They could just relaunch and go straight to phase 4
A lot of the semi hardcore/semi casual people find the time to rush through every bit of content that is released, get maxed out as soon as possible and then complain there's nothing to do. You saw hundreds of groups doing Incursions (fastest way to level so gotta do that), many many groups doing Mara (fastest way to get offerings - currency! for easy gear) and the few BRD runs too, get all the Pre BIS gear and in some occassions even simply the BiS gear. I don't think there will be anything that can keep enganging the playerbase for months because the easier it becomes, more catered to casuals, the faster the semi hardcore casual group will "complete" it and then complain the game is dead. Back in the days I just logged on ran circles in IF talking with mates on Ventrilo and running a few dungeons that took hours/days to actually get 1 or 2 items you were still aiming for. Padre's Trousers in Diremaul, the Devout set, the Magisters set, the odd trinket here and there. I do agree that Phase 3 is by far the worst one and they did nothing for alts. Another few hours of Incursions (and people also get more entitled to wanting only poeple with 10+ envelopes), multiple hours/days to get your runes and pre-BiS gear to then go raidlogging again. The 20man raids probably is the worst thing for those small groups loving 10 man content. I've heard of multiple guild merges, which all in all happened back in the days too but somehow I think/feel they should stick to 10 man content, release new places to visit along with the old ones and give catch up mechanics for alts, in runes and maybe even gear. Besides that, SoD is one of the best things they ever released with a rather small group that needs to focus on several things, they really try hard and listen to the playerbase that wants hundreds of different things. On to Phase 4!
Boy i loved SoD. I managed a guild with 80 Accounts, we had two Raid groups, discord talks and everything. It was 2004 again. Phase 3 dropped, did the raid one time and i stopped playing. Didnt even spend my 5k Gold to anyone, i just stopped...
As a new player I started to love this game and started to fall off hard this season, i started at the end of phase 1. Was a fun experience learning everything but the things turning me away the most are the super tryhard communities that requires perfect parses to even do the final raid content at this point, pugging has died now cause not enough people. Not enough end game content to have fun with. I have 3 level 50's and i dont really know what else to do with them besides maxing my honor reputations because no one wants to take me into a raid.
Most of my friends stopped playing about a week after phase 2 was released. I stopped a few days after phase 3 started. The magic of phase 1 will never be recreated.
Soooo I just dipped in ascension wow. What a amazing incarnation. Fast leveling options, modes(hardcore, nightmare prestige opcional challenge within the game.) New content or game option. A open creative options to just get your creative juice flowing. If they would employ them in the current classic team what ideas those 2 teams can come up with? Ascension is what sod or "classic plus" should b
It's always been the same with wow, if they really want any explanation to be alt friendly then make more of it account bound. For instance each character you level to max increases the XP by 20%. Such an easy fix
Right. And have a blackmarket vendor (like the rogue in BBay) that sells runes at a discount depending on how many other chars have completed the requirements for that (or a similar) rune. Give a narrative like oh we have friends of friends here's some discounted merchandise. Like the Ratchet rune vendor.
@@retro_de_novo exactly. I think they did that with one rune in ratchet but it was such a half ass attempt at fixing the problem but I think they did that because no one was doing the full grind to get all the items needed anyway.
I appreciate the honesty. Unlike other content creators who blow smoke up our ass about how they're having fun and we need to quit the game for a while and go touch grass. It's rude and disingenuous to say people don't have a right to be critical and disappointed when this phase sucks. SOD has fumbled hard and you hit the nail on the head - not enough blizzard employees working on the game. We wanted flushed out old content and zones and instead we got reskinned dungeons into raids. That's not really new content.
Classic has always been a casual game. It’s only changed recently because private server mentality infected Classic Era (and SoD) which turned this version of the game into a job farming consumables, gathering WB, and flasks (not to mention other buffs like juju’s or profession (grenades)). People just don’t enjoy that mindset. Eventually, once you get to 60 there will be so many raids that you can do to enjoy the game and have fun. Raid logging is completely fine. PVP has always been the bane of PVE. It has been this way since BC and It was only in the most recent expansions that they were able to separate abilities nerfs for PVP from impacting PVE performance. I doubt that approach will occur in SoD. People are always crying for new content but if we look at the WoW competitor (FF14), their game devs always encourage players to play other games. Staying glued to one game just isn’t what people want in an MMO. It’s key to understand your audience to be successful in any business. If there is a desire to have a lot of content, retail is there. In the meantime, wait for Phase 4 and there will be plenty of content to do. Devs have already communicated there is a Future after SoD. Unfortunately, they had to go waste time with Cata(one of the worst performing expansions). But, Classic + seems to be in the mindset of the devs as of now which is good.
Was getting dmf last night and joined a group that was going to try to get it. Right when the raid got full a griefer killed a couple civilians dropping everyones pvp rank in the raid. Rip 45k honor in 5 seconds. Dont feel like logging in now.
I put sod on the b a ck burner for now. Also a dad, 10hr work, kids have sports stuff, maybe 2-3 hrs every other day, and morning weekends before everyone gets up to play wow. Cata feels like the better option right now. I'm hoping to come back to sod, but I honestly would love 10 mans again. It's easier to find groups and fill out spots where needed. Cata has that, so that seems like the better option.
Make leveling faster for what? So people can rush to raid-log on another toon? Instead, vanilla and classic/era had interesting leveling so you enjoy having alts at different levels to vary the content you're doing when switching to an alt. But SOD with these level bracket phases is always rushing players to skip everything to get to the next "mini endgame". If you make content meant to be consumed like a grasshopper plague in a frenzy that's what players are gonna do.
SOD will see a massive resurgence upon the release of P4. Was P3 underwhelming? Absolutely. But much of the WoW community, at least from my experience, is overly pessimistic and always searching for something to complain about. Phase 4 will yield the most content to complete of all the phases and most of the player base will return to min/max their way through it in two weeks before complaining that the devs didn’t release enough content and the game is dead again. Overall, they have done a good job given the bandwidth they have dedicated to SOD. Good job devs.
Insane cope, every player that quit sod for cata will not be returning. Every player that quit the game because of design flaws will not return. Only the bored players will return, thats not the majority.
@@digitalhillz sadly I have to agree. found a new guild in cata and I have 0 desire to return to P4. Leave it to blizzard to turn wow classic into a rush to the end game raid that isn't that fun after you do it once or twice. on a positive note cata is popping off and im having fun with it!
Also everyone says that the population on SoD is getting down, and then I see people constanly when I play (perhaps because unlike 99% of people complaining in internet, I play during the day on my regional server).
Because if its the most effective way people will do it. That doesnt mean they like doing it. but when u get different options to lvl. people who wanna min max always choose the most effective. but that doesnt mean its a good system. I hope u understand this better now :)
I don't know, still having fun in SOD and can't wait for next phase. The problem is this game as evolved and so has the player. Only the player stuck in 2005-2007 have no issues with the pacing, etc. I am an evolved player, but still find myself in that 2005-2007 era when I first played Vanilla and TBC. I am ok with that but seems the evolved just wants more and more. That is ok, but I find the pacing to be fine. This player base is leading me back to P-Servers where the community is fine with slower pacing. Either way I have had plenty of fun and still having it.
Phase 4 will be great and till Naxx, we will have Huge fun.....do not get demoralised!!!! I do not know why they desided to release Cata Classic instead of focusing in SoD or even Classic +, but Cata is gonna be abandoned soon and if they play their cards correctly, SoD will thrive....the questions is what orders they have from the heads...does Blizzard cares anymore about SoD or they just want to do other things? I think, they want SoD to go still .....but i do not know how much development and effort they want to spend....However i am optimistic....and no worries Sky, we will follow in any version of the game you will desdie to create content :)
I wish the extended phase was during P4 MC/Ony phase. Not having AV out right now is big sadge. I'll be here til the end, but I agree, SoD is in a rough spot right now
Ahhhh I just got through more of your video I 100% agree with you, p4 i pray just blossems this game again this is by far the most fun and best expansion theyve ever made
My issue for alts isn’t the leveling, it’s all the hell you have to do after. Professions leveling, professions quests, all the runes, factions, PvP factions etc. I hit 50 and then burn out with all of the set up work.
what is also dont understand is, what are people expecting? did you know there was a timespan of almost 1 year between molten core and black wing lair? what do you think people did back then?
This is going to be controversial, but I think the success of SoD’s phase 1 is largely two things: 1) Xaryu made this point in one of his videos: that any version of wow will naturally have a lot of initial success and that some people will drop off, just because they get busy with life etc. This has always happened with every expansion of wow. People are excited to see the new game, join, and as soon as things get serious they leave. 2) GDKP’s. I don’t think this whole “I don’t have time to level my alts anymore” nonsense holds any water, frankly. I leveled my shaman from 40-50 in a single day last week. Took like 8 hours. You just run incursions and get a great set of gear and like 200 gold as well. And the runes this phase are easy to get as well. Now I have 4 level 50’s but I don’t feel like raiding them all because frankly, even on two characters the content gets boring after a while. With GDKP’s I remember it being worthwhile because even if I don’t get gear, I would get a good stack of gold that I could use on my main. It’s also now clear that banning GDKP’s did nothing to prevent gold buying. Finally - I think any version of WoW where PVE is the end goal will always result in these dead, raid-logging nightmares we have now. PVE should be for gearing you up so you can slap people in PVP. There needs to be better rewards for competing in world PVP. Turn world PVP into the end-game content.
Or add arena into the game ,we all got our mains maxed , and are wasting time on some alts we r gonna stop play later. Give us arena so we can slap ppl with our min maxed mains.
They never gave me a reason to log on daily so I only logged in to raid, then 20 man's hit which made raiding more annoying. Daily heroics is all they had to do to keep the playerbase alive
Vanilla client 1.1 has no infrastructure for "heroics" so you want them to change all dungeon items and mobs and bosses and also put the system ingame, right...
@shifterashtongue2684 Vanilla client also didn't have BFD, Gnomer or ST as raids. But they somehow made them raids and changed the levels inside of the dungeon and added loot... But hey, it must be impossible to add a toggle to make all mobs in say Deadmines level 50 and make the level 53 Van Cleef drop a reskined frozen orb at the end. Which you could then spend on Rep/ Account bound runes / etc. Your right, completely impossible.
@@Kaelsiar yeah you dont even need a raid group to enter those "raids" im sure the game allows a lot of stuff........... Not.... Also it took them what 4 months for 3 of them? And you ask what another 8 10? Im sure its a piece of cake..
And really you had months to prepare for 60 for the first time ever in wow, EVER IN WOW , you choose to raidlog on weekly levelup raid, lets see how you cry about gatekeeping next phase because you prepared 0
Killing Chaos Bolt ruined the experience for me. I swapped to crusader strike and I personally don't like how crowded it is. It basically deters me to do anything open world.
"Raid Logging" has been a problem for WoW for an extremely long time for a lot of people. The reason classic carries so much favor with folks is the saying, "the journey not the destination". We forget about that. We've brought so many different kinds of players into WoW with all of the changes and refocusing on the end game, it is hard now to make any changes without pissing a grp of players off. Both ends of the game need to do better.
A little bummed to hear you won't be doing any Cata content. I've been playing and the game feels alot of fun. The zones/quests/dungeons all feel top tier. Many of the issues that plauged Cata when it launched back in the day will not be the same this time around by how Blizzard is releasing it. Tons of potential and the content should be top tier IMO
I stopped playing SoD a month or so ago. What's weird is I thought I liked it. Maybe I was convincing myself I did. Looking back, I can't think of much that I liked about SoD. The sleeping bag was pretty cool I guess... Most people that asked for SoD (or Classic +) wanted content, not class overhauls. The classes felt like I was playing Wrath or Cata, so I'll just play Cata lol.
I think the biggest problem is certainly that the classic team has too much on their plate with 2 game modes and managing 2 others. SOD either needs serious attention right now, which they can't give due to Cataclysm or i think its going to hurt it for the long term. Phase 4 will certainly help, but I think the real question is how much of the SOD population will Cataclysm retain?
Imagine going on vacation for two weeks and coming back to a realm that has been depopulated and locked. I missed the free transfer, and now I'm stuck in a realm with max 120 players. They're stuck too, with no chance to raid or go into dungeons. No way in Hell I'm paying for a transfer now, and there is no incentive to create a new toon and go through all the grinding again.
I felt a massive disconnect from the classic game when incursions became the leveling experience.
Honestly, the classic leveling experience of spamming Scarlet Monastery over and over is pretty lame too
Players are going to degen whatever the fastest way is.
Can’t wait for the lvl 60 char boost with all runes for 59.99
Hot take
I am REALLY glad for the downtime i SoD.
SoD was suppose to be the chosen one but ended up shooting it self in the foot
Why
You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the retailers, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!
No one forced you to do so there was the same amount of content in the open world
There are no people in locations anymore. When you try to complete some elite quest or obtain rune, it is a challenge now to find mates for that

Thanks for the content and news! SOD-Hype!
It looks like Blizzard themselves have given up on SoD. RIP

Runes are way to tedious to get a hold of for me to level another character.

Either add more ways to get them, or add an actual level requirement to learn them.

Devs ruined it with bad ideas, its that simple. Then they abandoned it for cata and remix. No reason to stick around if the devs gave up.
Now you have finally uploaded a video with a true review.. goodwork
the point about not having enough time for more than 1 alt, is spot on.
I'm still loving the game because I only get an hour or two a day to play.
exactly. The people who hard grind everything and say its boring need to get a life and tough grass.

They need to remove Nightmare Incursions period. Phase 4 needs to wipe them completely off the map. Then a LOT of major issues will be solved
and fire whoever suggested and approved it

How is it corporate greed when none of it costs extra hahaha. More content for no extra cost = corporate greed what a stupid fucking take.
@Brewnelley You still have to pay a subscription to play these versions of wow. Yes, you do get a free trail, but those are limited.
Happens when you make a channel solely on wow. They will never deliver. But hats off keep up the good work.
I think what’s playing out is perfect imo. Little break from Sod, Cata is awesome, back to SoD phase 4 Hype! Everything is lining up perfectly for me!
Almost the same but decided I’m just sticking with Cata
@@idkidgaf bro, Cata is awesome. I’m having a blast for sure.
100% We need Heroic Dungeons... possibly 10 man... that drop raid quality loot.
Dad of 3 here, well said. I will never play retail, or the war within. Have no interest and I’ve been playing off and on since 2005.
SOD sucks really bad. We are given shitty runes to find that are mostly shit. Some classes are busted broken while the rest are trash.
Cope, you are wrong. My guild and many others have disbanded and quit. It’s over.
@@digitalhillzabsolutely won’t be coming back from Cata. Unless they find away to fuck that up too
First day i grabbed a cup coffee to watch this video. Maybe a day late, but hey. haha
Hope you enjoyed it man!!!
High quality entertaining and professional content man, gj
I went from having 7 fully geared alts in S1, 4 Alts in S2, 2 Alts in S3 and now 0 Alts in S4...
Everyone says they hate nightmare incursions but I see a ton of people only doing those.
I hit 50 and then burn out with all of the set up work.
all that stuff has always been part of the game... its why some people never had any alts at all
Simple. Do something else in the "free time" of wich you don´t play the game.
I mean I don´t know, that happens we you do a thing in a long run ever.
what is also dont understand is, what are people expecting? did you know there was a timespan of almost 1 year between molten core and black wing lair? what do you think people did back then?
PvP in battlegrounds and the open world events are really nice atm.
I hope they are serious about putting in mini raids or reworked instances in between the main line raids.
This is going to be controversial, but I think the success of SoD’s phase 1 is largely two things:
1) Xaryu made this point in one of his videos: that any version of wow will naturally have a lot of initial success and that some people will drop off, just because they get busy with life etc.
@@shifterashtongue2684 Your assuming I'm going to play next phase? Daily dungeons were a good idea, stay mad.
incursions made me quit
Thanks for your amazing channel and content! Love it
It's absolutely my pleasure.
I will never have any sympathy for the devs. It's a transaction we pay for good content and we don't receive it. They screwed up on their end.
Killing Chaos Bolt ruined the experience for me. I swapped to crusader strike and I personally don't like how crowded it is. It basically deters me to do anything open world.
New currency to buy gear. By doing stuff outside of the raid. You just described wild offerings.
Your videos are dope man. Please dont stop :)
As long as people pay subscription, THEY DONT CARE. No money left for more than 10 coworkers.
I am 3 guilds, 1 ally and 2 horde, all 3 guilds have died. They were all very active up to a month ago, then everyone drifted off..
