    Utterly fascinating! My family has been dairy farming in Central New York too. Thanks for the ride-along.

    I’m a new driver here on 97 highway and didn’t even know there are trucks that don’t have all 8/12 wheel lockers. We have some insane backroads up here they don’t throw sand on them just gotta send it. They only sand the icy roads after someone gets into a baad accident.

    Your thinking right, can't expect boy to do a man's job! So many farms get to light a truck? Great video, hey to all at the farm🤠

    I had the same problem with the Minnesota DOT just last month. They threatened me with a fine too but ultimately let me go. Would hate to have to deal with them on a regular basis.

    Our bodies are held on by 2 hitch pins in the back and that’s it. To put a body on you just lift the frame done and back under until you can lower the frame and pick the body up and then you just push it on with the loader

      Caleb Bisson that sounds like that is easier than what we have.If I was to design what we have again I would run two horizontal rods to hold the body or the tanks on.Our mounting tab holes are the same on all of our trucks ,tanks and truck bodies.We can bolt any tank or box on any truck we have.

      Andrew Hourigan we can interchange the bodies as long as they are the same length, but none of ours are center lift they all have the hoist at the front. It’s just two pieces of angle iron that run down the frame to the pivot.

    Great looking C500! Have seen some of your T800 rebuild videos in the past, just curious what color codes you all use on the trucks since they appear to be the same between the 800s, the 500 and that W9 in the video too - they all look sharp!

      Hadyn D thanks for watching and of course thanks for the kind words. We use paint from Napa and it is their Prism commercial single stage paint. Black is just standard and the number on it is 65A8800 which is straight out of the can. We also use the 5225 utethane primer. The red paint is either a Ford red door a viper red it's about $250 a spayable gallon. I'll get back to you on the actual code I had everything typed out and didn't want to lose it before I realized that I had to look harder for the code.

      Hadyn D the red paint is Dodge Colorado red1992-2003. Dodge PE1-AY69LE1-DT3518 Formula 2498478

      Hadyn D hey no problem, it's a decent red and it's not horribly expensive for being red either. Let me know if you need any other information.

    Is this hourigan dairy it looks like a farm that I use to bring sand to when I worked for Lynn h Scott

    Help me understand why/how sand makes for a better overall choice for bedding, when its hard to deal with and wears out the pumps fast, requires periodic clean outs from below, etc.
    Sorry for commenting on a video from so long ago. I just found your channel and I'm trying to catch up.

    Why don't you guys use a separator to remove and clean the sand and reuse it save the sand bill.

    What's the purpose of the white marks on the road at 48.45 min mark?

    • @FarmingFixingFabricating
      @FarmingFixingFabricating  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jlsmith6310 you know I'm not sure, only thing I could think of is something for the self driving cars so they know there is a sharp corner coming up.
