That is a lot of work looks like the tires in the front was a good idea when I look at the manure I look at gold . For planting vegetables. I see you have a lot of money tied up in equipment anything to make things easier is good. Great video Andy thanks again 👍🇺🇸 .
hello my name is Bill i found your channel a week ago i must say i am very impressed with your operation thank you for taking time from your day to post awesome videos looking forward to seeing more and going along for the ride have a great day and happy farming
For a minute there I thought you was going to chase the rim around the workshop , excellent vid bud , more snow by the looks of it , great info and a good buy of EBay 👍👍👍👍
Nice Videos Andy, thank you! The Trick with the oil is easy to explain (i guess) - used motor oil has a lower PH value and neutralizes higher PH values (alcalicacidic). So the surface tension is gone.
It increases the surface tension of fluid so it will not foam. Same thing when boiling maple syrup except motor oil is not used, try vegetable oil it should work and keep the tree huggers happy.
I was getting dizzy listening to all the tire sizes and tire transfer instructions in the beginning. I've never heard of the oil trick I'll have to try that it sounds interesting.
Great video thanks for sharing. I've never heard the used motor oil trick. I know a couple guys that throw in a cup or so of diesel, I'm guessing it's the same thing just a bit cheaper than using diesel.
What do you use for balancing? Also do you use anti-seas on your threads when changing out tires. I run closed shoulder tires on all my trucks. Awesome vid
Nothing for balancing.I was told it was best to put lug nuts on dry. We went to closed shoulder tires for awhile on our drives but we started tearing the centers out.
I know the dairys in our area of ohio that milk over 700 cows arent allowed to spread manure on frozen or snow covered ground. Is it not the same for you guys in new york?
Think what oil does to water when you just put a drop in it spread out on top and puts a film of oil on water same for the poop I'm guessing puts a film on top stopping the foam
Diesel fuel works also you can just put a coffee can on a long stick fill the can on the ground just have a long enough stick to reach up and dump it in the hole
Is the used motor oil acting as a surfactant? That is the word that came to mind when I saw you use oil to solve the foaming problem. This is Benjamin Franklin's comment on the use of oil on troubled water: "the oil, though not more than a teaspoonful, produced an instant calm over a space of several yards square, which spread amazingly, and extended itself gradually till it reached the lee side, making all that quarter of the pond, perhaps half an acre, as smooth as a looking glass." physics.stackexchange.com/questions/202213/pouring-oil-on-choppy-water-to-calm-it-does-it-work-and-if-so-how
Thanks again Andy. Much appreciate the time and effort that you take to entertain us.
👍☺
Andy you are one hard working old man. IT is time those young guys standing watching you work do a lot more. Time you start supervising!
For some reason when you sped up cleaning the rims up it remined me of a dentist drill. I just love that sound.

Thanks for the education on the tires and front ends !

Thanks for the video, enjoyable!
Got some new shoes on the front the big dogs s... getting real know! Good video Andrew
Yes sir
We call those 385's super singles across here in the UK all of the artic trailers run them and alot of units are running on the steer
Nice Videos Andy, thank you! The Trick with the oil is easy to explain (i guess) - used motor oil has a lower PH value and neutralizes higher PH values (alcalicacidic). So the surface tension is gone.
Thanks for the explanation
If it was as simple as ph then you could use vinegar or any acid witch is notoxic
You’re farms about 2 Hours from us! And it’s funny we switched lagoons today and we had a foaming issue all day might have to try that trick!
gotta love those air jacks
Great video Andy. I sure dont miss breaking down semi tires.
You know they aren't too bad to do. I would say that they are easier to do than implement tires.
@@FarmingFixingFabricating thats very truck i farm tractor tires
You're content is so much more enjoyable than a liar across the river and Pennsylvania

Great vid
We use used fryer oil from a restaurant to prevent the foaming. It's just soybean oil.
Great video thanks for sharing. I've never heard the used motor oil trick. I know a couple guys that throw in a cup or so of diesel, I'm guessing it's the same thing just a bit cheaper than using diesel.
Yeah it seems to be working. It's used motor oil that we are using.
👍👍👍 great video 👍👍👍
Thanks
Good video man .
Thanks
Lagoon level still looks well up.a lot more shite to pump to drop that baby.👍🐮😃 nice video.
Going out slow
The manure pit can be quite intimidating when you put in a good long day and only drop it 4-6 inches... slow and steady wins the race
It is good to have a large floor when grinding rims.
Hi Andy to many young guys watching you work! try to change that your the boss................ thanks
They are learning
If you don't mind me asking, what is the ipad for in the semi? great video
Field maps etc
In Kentucky we would tell you to put 3-4 “glugs” of oil in the tank😎😎😎
Same here in Alberta Canada
Andy, DON'T FORGET THE XYZ Tires.

Farming Fixing & Fabricating Ten Four.
I have a 20 pound wooden mall I use to loosen wheels from the hub. Rarely takes a second hit.
Were the fronts on the w9 trailer tires? They have the same tread design as what we have on our trailers
Yes they were slightly more aggressive than a steer tire. More like a trailer tread like what you said.
Just like spray painting!!!
Your lucky you didn't have to adjust the spindle stops. Interesting about the foam remedy.
Yeah no rubbing
I know the dairys in our area of ohio that milk over 700 cows arent allowed to spread manure on frozen or snow covered ground. Is it not the same for you guys in new york?
In NY, the current regulations state "concrete frost or saturated soil" so it's somewhat open to interpretation...
Don't need gps to know where you have been with that stuff. Ain't hard to tell if you missed a spot either!
Think what oil does to water when you just put a drop in it spread out on top and puts a film of oil on water same for the poop I'm guessing puts a film on top stopping the foam
Andy what would it do too dump a barrel of oil in the pit?
I'm not sure if that would even work.
We use a anti foam in are waste treatment. 1/2 oz per 10000 gallons.
Rather haul when it's cold then when it's hot...😷
Diesel fuel works also you can just put a coffee can on a long stick fill the can on the ground just have a long enough stick to reach up and dump it in the hole
That's a good idea with the stick.
Do you have a lot of employee turnover?
No
No more straight pipes w900?
Not for now
really should have a cage for inflating the tires in, if one of those blow up at the wrong time, your gone.
Stian I should indeed
The narrow tires should be better for steering in the snow
True and better in greasy situations. The wider ones we just put on for flotation..... And they look better to
@@FarmingFixingFabricating
I agree they look alot better. Lol
Det är lättare att spruta gödsel på snö, men i Sverige får man inte spruta gödsel på snö.
Jared needs to stop rolling coal or start paying for springs...Lol...Looks like winter has finally arrived...
🎃
Did you take the stright pipes off the w9 Andy?
Yes we took them off
I could imagine they were getting quit loud then you get the riging in your ears I like the wider tires on it though
@@matthewosterhoudt1176 I guess they were fun while thay lasted.........
@@johnnyholland8765 yeah that's true did sound good with them on it though
