Do you have a pacing guide for math?

We use the curriculum, Math in Focus, so we follow that pretty closely!

Can you share your plans layout? I saw you had it on top of your copies at the beginning of the video.

Ohh, yes! Good idea - that's easy enough - I just make them in a Googledoc. I can share about it in a video!

Do your students have a math workbook? Love your slides and your anchor chart!!

They do! We use the curriculum, Math in Focus, and it comes with these HUGE workbooks - I don't use it that often - but we will sometimes do pages together and I will sometimes assign the independent pages at the end of a lesson.

I love using Quiz, Quiz, Trade! The kids love it. I have never tried Mix and Match. Is that another Kagan structure? What does that look like? And I have a logistical question. I am trying WIN and Centers using some of your ideas, which I am loving. But how do you avoid a traffic jam when materials are located together for different groups. I have drawers for my center materials, but wondering if I should spread them out around the room.

I can answer the Mix and Match. In her example using the doubles cards, you'd have one set of those same cards and one set of answer cards. You would split the cards amongst your students. Spread the kids out in the room. Then when you begin, the students must "match" (a doubles fact with an answer). In my class, we would play this a few times. I've done this with lots of skills: simple addition, simple subtraction, clocks (digital and analog), place value (cubes and number), etc. Kids love it!

Thank you! Yes this is exactly how you play Mix and Match - my students need movementtttt so it's an easy way to get them up and moving around while still learning and reviewing skills.

I would definitely spread things out!! For our WIN centers, I do use a tray in one area, but I dismiss students by groups so only one group is grabbing their materials at one time. My literacy centers are spread out though to avoid traffic jams! If that is a problem, that's an easy way to fix that problem if you can manage to spread the materials around.
