Battle of Avdiivka - Animated Analysis

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 19 ก.ย. 2024
- The city of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine always had a little more war history than the other nearby towns. Without exaggeration, the battles of various intensities raged around it for 10 years. Located in the heart of the Donetsk Region to the northwest of Donetsk itself, it became a frontline city not in 2022 or 2023 with the full-scale invasion, but in 2014, when Russia just started its proxy war against Ukraine, often called War in Donbas. Despite the 4 months long occupation in 2014, subsequent liberation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and numerous attacks in 2017, Avdiivka remained under firm Ukrainian control, becoming an important outpost just on the outskirts of occupied Donetsk.

I followed this particular battle since it started, this video was really nice to get an understanding of the timeline and progression of the battle, it’s obvious a lot of research and hard work goes into these videos!
It's interesting seeing how Russia has changed their tactics since Avdiivka, now most Russian vehicles have EW protection, collums are swapped for 2-4 vehicles, the use of motorbikes and cope cages increased. Now Russia is 9km from Pokrovsk because they've implemented lessons from their mistakes shown in this video. But man, seeing whole columns getting shredded is scary.
7km from pokrosvk right now, pokrosvk is also already failing a a logistic hub due to drones
This comment is not entirely true. Columns are still used. Reference the past 3-4 weeks of offensive operations on both sides of the conflict
Always looking forward to more of these!
Today is a good day, especially with the Toropets News still going.
Nah the footages that were released after the fall were devastating to watch, so many bodies of retreating soldiers were laying on the roads😢. I hope this conflict ends soon
I would say the the usage of FPV drones/ UAV drones has definetly changed how russia thought the war would go on. If there were no drones usage, i would think the war would have been over a long time go
The war would have ended long ago if dozens of NATO countries had not supplied Ukraine with everything it needed to fight, from weapons, ammunition and intelligence to medicine, uniforms and transportation. Without Western money, the Ukrainian economy would have died long ago.

Agree! UA losses were so heavily downplayed. It was caught on multiple drone footage that UA had to withdraw on foot under artillery fire and drone drop granade as any attempt for armor to get close is being watched and punished by Russian FVP drone, reason why the abrams and leopard were destroyed before they can even see an enemy.
@@phantomjellyace2877I agree, in the retreat from the city while Ukrainian units dissolved, it was a massacre
It's worse than that, the retreat from zenith air defense base was over flat ground in the middle of the night through a gap in yhe Russian lines not even 300meters they were getting gunned down by small arms and grenades, not just artillery and fabs
Ukrainian losses were heavily downplayed. Not even a single video of UA soldiers fleeing on foot while being watched by drone and under constant artillery fire inflictng significant casualties or the UA supply road literally filled with destroyed vehicles or the 3rd azov getting hit by artillery before on their staging area. Lastly, It was portrayed that only UA were using large number of FPV drones were in reality Russia uses it as much as UA do, that's why any attempt to counter attack was repulsed.

I'm kind of disappointed. Ive been following your channel for long but now you are talking about a battle i actually followed in details and, how to put that simply... If all your videos are so biased i guess i have to look at them again and deny them the qualities i found.
Listening to you, this battle is just a continuous failure of Russian, and continuous wins of Ukrainian (the part on the corridor is quite typical, the only thing you manage to say is that "its a trap, and people are dying, committing suicide on it", yet two minutes later you finally admit that " ho well it destroyed the Ukrainian equilibrium"). I really wonder how those Ukrainians then lost ?
Ho no, actually i know "because they lacked supplies of westerns allies" and "because Russian sent wave of suicide troops (didn't manage to back that with a video tho).
Actually, and its a bit disappointing, this channel is one more deepstate / military summary. Good map following, but the comments are biased.
Its worth noting tho, that the Russian with even less vehicles, and even less artillery advantage (its estimated 1to 3 now comparing to 1 to 10 during end of 2023 are still pushing, and the Ukrainian are still going backward). Those human waves must be very strong

The amount of losses Russia took is absolutely insane over 1200 visually confirmed vehicle/equipment losses in about 5-6 months to 200 Ukrainian
usually those same losses end up being recovered and repaired and sent again so a lot of the equipment losses end up becoming losses again until they actually get blown to bits
@@Yuritarkovthat is true, but no Ukrainians legit blow all equipment till its into bits, people always ask why they use suicide drones to blow up empty tanks. Their used for that exact reason 😊

The question that remains in my head to this day is, how much longer could have the ukrainians held with sufficient artillery shells?
How much of the russian reserves would have been required to be expended only to take the city, not to push towards prokowsk?
