It's taking a very long time to get the parts to fix this oil leak. Do you have to renew the bolts for the oil cooler as well when Im replacing the gasket?
My Audi A6 has got a oil leak small oil patch on the ground. This is on the drivers side dripping down on the alternator. Do you have any idea what would be the problem?
not going to lie my 2006 a6 definitely looks like this, I was just hoping to replace my serpintine belt and idler puller, but the right side of my engine is covered in oil and same with carbon as well as under the engine so im assuming this as well is where my oil leak is
That lovely magnesium manifold you managed to remove in the time it takes me to knock-up a cup of coffee? f****** consumable part - thanks Audi! - quoted £2k (abt 3.4kCAN/2.5kUS) plus £700 fitting. S5 only cost £5k. Throwing P2004 and just generally being a swine :( Great videos - Like+Sub 😋 (filter coffee)🤪
I have an 08 audi a6 4.2 fsi ( your engine looks exactly like mines) with a misfire on cylinder 2. I've changed the spark plugs, coils cleaned my maf sensor but I'm thinking fuel injector now. My question is do I do the same procedure of taking the manifold off as u did in this video?
Best to have a whole set. They are pretty cheap - amzn.to/3Q2hnyH Or here is a nicer one if you like quality - amzn.to/3VyGD0T. Also remember there is Torx and Torx Plus on this vehicle. They are different as well
Hi Cole. How can I get in touch with you. I have a 2010 Q5 3.2 I cant get rid of the cylinder 2 misfire. The compression is good. It actually runs great but misfires at idle Replaced the coil, plugs & injector. There's no carbon and it only happens at idle. I'm stumped and so is the German car specialist its at. I thought for sure it was a leaky injector. It runs perfectly otherwise and won't code for 50 miles when I'm driving but at idle it throws the code Please help. I'd bring it to you but I'm in CT. If you have aby ideas I can pay for your time. Thanks
Hi @RT, have you by chance had a smoke test preformed to rule out any vacuum leaks? I've seen a tiny vacuum leak cause something like this. If no vacuum leak, I would attempt to reset adaptations and reset the throttle body. If problem still persists after all of that I would double check the timing chain values and see if maybe it's stretched and out of time causing a misfire.
@@Mechani_Cole just the p0302 although I am getting an EPC light now. Doesn't go into limp mode just stops it at 4k rpm but the p0302 happened way before that and is the only code
9:45 *harharhar* You haven't replaced the oil cooler yet, if you think *that* screw is annoying. Not to mention the asshole screw in the upper axle shank!
@@Mechani_Cole Yeah, the engine compartment is very stuffed. Just think f you have had the Bi-Turbo version! That is probably a real pain in the arse. But never the less, I love the car itself.
Found the easier way. There's a single torx facing the firewall that holds the air oil separator. Once you get that off you can prop up the manifold and remove all 5 torx bolts holding on the throttlebody elbow so you dont have to cut the factory clamped hose
All the 4.2s are pretty similar. I sold this one in the video so not able to check it out currently. But on the next one, if I decide to ever get one of these again. Wasn't the best experience and the 15mpg wasn't so great in the city haha
@kidsavage86 would be a waste. Check vacuum lines running to the flap motors first. You can replace the little motors pretty easy as long as there is no deeper problems

@@Mista808 all fixed now!
Working on my Q7 right now with the same issue
How did get the fuel to stop coming out when you disconnect the fuel line.
It runs out after a while. Just catch it
Or you can pull the fuel pump fuse and then run the engine until it's out of gas in the rails
It's taking a very long time to get the parts to fix this oil leak. Do you have to renew the bolts for the oil cooler as well when Im replacing the gasket?
Supposed to replace them. I reused mine. No issues here

Hello
Is it possible to replace this sensor without removing the collector?
No, but if you find a way, please share it
@@Mechani_Cole There must be some way because how to measure oil pressure? 🤷🏼♂️ The collector must be fitted
You don't need to measure oil pressure. The sensor does that for you
@@Mechani_Cole You seem to be right, but there must be some way to measure the oil pressure in the engine
There is, through the sensor. Thats its purpose. No other way that I ever heard of
a zero degree ratchet would help with that stubborn torx bolt
Yeah it would
Do i have to drain the coolant
Yes

Good question, yes. You would need to follow all these steps to access your injectors under the manifold
@@Mechani_Cole another question. Do I need to put the car in service position or can I do it without?
Same here. It wasn't the injector
Great vid.
So is this the same for the s5?
Yes. There might be some small differences, but pretty much the same process
@@Mechani_Coleso there isn’t a sensor in the back of the oil filter ? Not many videos on the s5
There is a sensor there as well, there are different though
