I paddled the Mississippi in 1987 from top to bottom. It was a life transforming experience at the age of 16. At wavy Rapids, I impaled my middle finger on a fish hook. It must have created a powerful memory... When I saw the footage of the wavy Rapids campsite, it appeared exactly as I remember it... 30 years ago. Thank you for sharing.
I was part of the group of paddlers you met during that trip! This video brings back so many great memories. When you guys gave us that fish it restored my faith in Canada and humanity in general. Great video!
Great video Glad I could come along. However while I enjoy missing portages I believe my skills are not up to that trip now. Envious as hell. Brian nearing 76
My great grandfather built and ran the sawmill in peterbell. My grampa was born there.. Everyone in my family has canoed the river. My cousin and I plan to do this river soon. (as long as he can STOP HAVING KIDS FOR ONCE!!!) hahaha
Mike Bernier holy, what year was your grandpa born? My grandmother was born in Peterbell in ‘33, she got taken during the residential school time period though.
A warm hello from one of the other river paddlers (11:13)! Great video guys, brings back some great memories of a great river. Hope the almost a year since the trip has been treating you well. Would rock to run into y'all again on one of Ontario's prime rivers.
@@inseasonstudios Thanks! I've been trying to find one since seeing this video, but sounds like no one makes them anymore. So... I guess I'm sewing. Tips wanted :)
Hey beauty trip eh nice video ! No peaks tho? I'm planning the same route well almost the same n want to bring my dog I always do. Wondering if there was a reason or two you opted out of bringing peaks ?
Super nice trip well worth it. The reason I didn't bring Peaks was because I didn't want to kill my shoulder, Peaks is a heavy dog for a canoe dog also he's getting up there in age. I am also paddling alone with extra camera battery ect. But I have a replacement for Peaks and he's much smaller, if he was trained I would bring him.
Very nice.. enjoyed all 3 vids. I'm from that area, crossed it many times at both locations. Had no ideal it had parts that are absolutely amazing ..thanks for sharing!
I’m planning on doing the Missinabi River later this year. This video is helpful, and just plain enjoyable.
Great trip Dan!

I'd love to do this one again. Take a month (or more). Missanabie to Moose Factory, top to bottom. It is a special trip.
What's the little cover you have in the bow?
This is called a splash guard it prevents the water from coming in the Canoe when running Rapids with big waves. Thanks for watching.
