    I'm doing as much research as I can about grad school because I decided to go back to school to get a master's degree. I changed careers to tourism two years ago and love it.

    GRAD SCHOOL IS A B*TCH!!!! there is definitely so many more responsibilities that comes with grad school. It's really hard to get out of the undergrad mentality of using grades as your form of validation because in grad school, grades no longer matter for me. It's all about the quality of the research / work I do. This was definitely something I struggled withthe first year

    • @jeannelle_
      @jeannelle_  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      YES! & you're in that research field, definitely different from my experience. I agree, once you're in grad school, it ain't about the grades anymore, it's more hands on work and how you're able to implement your experiences and practices into the career field you're going for.

    In fact I like small class school why because years ago I finally move from primary to middle school my first day in school is terrible because every break time my entire class just fighting and arguing each other makes me feel uncomfortable because I just want to study calmly a few months later I give up then move to different middle school with smaller class and at least it's better and not to crowded

    Thank you for this video. I do have a question. How do classes differ in grad school compared to undergrad? I'm undergrad we go to class mwf or th is if the same for grad school?

    • @jeannelle_
      @jeannelle_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your class. This varies coz every program is different whether they’re in undergrad or grad school.

    • @jeannelle_
      @jeannelle_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Based on my experience, undergrad I went to class at least 2x a week, for grad school we meet once a week, again this all depends on the class schedule and program.

    Hi! So basically what you are saying is that after I finish highschool I should go for an undergraduate degree (whatever i'm interested in) and THEN (if i want) a graduate one?. I'm asking because I'm from a country where we do not use the north american education system and I get confused.

    • @jeannelle_
      @jeannelle_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! That's usually how it goes. After high school, if they want to go to college they start with their undergraduate degree (associates or bachelors) then after that if they want to continue their education with a higher degree they can get their graduate degree (masters or doctorate).

    Could I get into an Ivy League school if I’m 25 and a drop out

    • @bcherry174
      @bcherry174 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can.
      There are even people who are 40+ in Harvard and even people less than 15, so age does not matter in most developed schools but do expect people to biased (only sometimes)

    What is the social life in a lot of grad school programs? Do people go out and party during the week and weekend as much or at all as in undergrad?
    Do you actually make long lasting friendships and make friends who you can hangout with on the weekend

    • @jeannelle_
      @jeannelle_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Social life in grad school can depend what program you’re in. Some programs can make others competitive towards each other, some programs are super collaborative, so it really depends.
      For the partying on the week/weekends i would say it’s not as much as undergrad. It’s more like casual drink at the bar with your cohorts but that’s just based on my experience.
      You can make long lasting friendships in undergrad or grad.
      Thank you for the questions ✨

      Well given that very smart students go to grad schools(aside from the AA bunch) having a social life was something a lot didn't have in undergrad.
