Many thanks, Jim, for this "undocumented" option of the move tool.
It was a nightmare for me to draw this type of honeycomb. You 've given to all of us this elegant solution. 👍

Finally, a mystery is solved! I knew it had to be possible, but never figured it out. I still want to learn how to rotate that to a reference. Thanks.

Another option. Select object, move tool, select "move direction"↗(alt+left click) (from tool options top-left corner of "drawing plane"), select one of the lines of any object or "world origin" to adjust the anchor. Another Very helpful when going to 2d mode and the grid is not straight you can: select move grid, select one arrow of the anchor, select "orient to object" and choose any line from the drawing to rotate your grid or object selected. This software is amazing apart from few bugs and a lack of mirror tool. I know that mirroring line exist but this is not enough sometimes

@@fortifor5410 I forgot all about that. I did use that technique. The problem with using the software once a year or so is forgetting everything. Thanks!

@@Gkuljian No worries, I use it quite often and find it really good. It is not so good for organic geometry though. But as Jim says "if it comes to DSM the only limit is your imagination". However I want to start using Fusion 360 since it has better(quicker) tools to create screws, involute gears etc. But learning these thing in DSM is really good, helps with understandings of certain things like geometry, trigonometry and so on. However F 360 has tools built-in for those reasons, therefore less time spent with more accurate results hopefully.

@@fortifor5410 Designspark Mechanical v6 Creator and Engineer has a new mirroring tool for 2D and 3D curves, Faces, Bodies, Components, this can radically change modelling methods for rapid creation and later alteration. Mirror bodies can retain face linking as option. Threads can be graphically represented with accurate 'Basic' min and max diameters generated which can be changed for 'custom thread' or creating thread clearances by dialogue. These min/max diameter could then be used as the basis for actual real thread creation with specified ( user or 'standards' running clearances ). V6 constraint sketcher is much better than v5 and many other small improvements have been made. All module technology now included in Creator and Engineer flexi-monthly on/off plans

@G kuljian Try putting a section on the face you wish an object to be rotated relative ( use ruler). In sections, moving a line, moves the associated face - works well for basic features like holes, pins. After selecting the object to be moved ( 2D hole edge) put the move tool onto the rotation axis, use Alt key ,to orient red axis to object axis picking up hole center , then select mini tool 'angular rotate ruler' option...
select target object... enter 0 = align or enter 'space off' degree - works perfectly once you know this...more complicated moves with bodies/ assemblies can be done in a similar manner very efficiently.

Thanks Jim. I was less than accomplished on DSM 5, but I could make it do the little bit I needed. Having been forced into DSM 6 I'm not doing so well. It's superficially similar, but I'm finding it harder to drive. Any chance of a video explaining how they're different?

Just a question : to select all the hexagons at the end , can I do :
    - Ctrl A
    - Ctrl
    - left click on the large surface
Keep like that only all the hexagons selected ?
