I test new products when I am sent them from the different manufacturers, I am not a metal detector enthusiast whom needs the newest thing as It took me years to move from the Sovereign GT (Best Treasure machine ever made) to the Equinox 800. I have detected side by side with both Nokta Legend and Deus 2 recently and I was very impressed with both on performance however I was given no reason to purchase either as it was clear to me the NOX is a GREAT machine. As far as a myth of penny salting weirdo, there is most certainly a weirdo that leaves strange messages and lots of trashed zinc pennies. I saw him on the surf cam at the blackies in Newport tossing pennies and putting batteries in plastic bottles.
