My favourite mythological beings: sharks and the british.
The shark might actually be a minor nod to Shadow over Innsmouth, where some worshipers were becoming part fish, but the background stuff says Atlantis so there's that. Watson's an investigator, and Lovecraftian stories are all about investigating myths. In other words, she's the protagonist. Ina wins though.

Evolution of time. Myth was an (ultra amazing) experiment and a starting point. Council is like midway the game were you have good loot but still need to overcome challenges and Advent is end-game with full-blown CGI scenes.
