I want a Don Hollinger. Is there one out there? “You Hoo?!? Tootaloo? I’m a great cook, cute, great housekeeper, no tattoos, beautiful smile, good skin… Hello?!?” Sigh. The silence is deafening. Oh well, I tried! 😇
You always hear how the Mary Tyler Moore Show was such a ground breaking show for young career women. That show, although excellent , came after this show. I personally think Marlo Thomas in That Girl was in fact the true ground breaker. Although dating Donald, Ann (Marlo Thomas) was always focused on her career just as young men were and are and just as Mary Tyler Moore supposedly was.
I agree with your ideas. Ann had Donald for the entire series. Mary had a long string of temporary boyfriends. And stretches with no boyfriend. She never found that "special someone", despite years of trying. But she had career success. Were we being told, very sneakily, that women could not have it all?
I love this show.. It's so funny and cute!!! Ted Bessell played Donald so great.. Her clothes are just beautiful... She is so darling...I still watch it and record it...❤❤❤...
Don called Mr. Davis’ office without looking up the number, after one year? Then when Ann asks him, he says he doesn’t remember the number? And a good reporter like Don who spent three months trying to get the interview , certainly would have remembered the name of Mr. Davis’ secretary! But Marlo’s “one take” scene in the elevator is a classic! And a great example of the work that earned her four Emmy Award nominations .
My parents owned that "comfortable" easy chair at 15:51 ! It forced you to lean your head forward. The only way it was comfortable was if you leaned back. The footrest was comfy, though.
It's called a sultry voice, which was considered to be an attractive quality. Also, her entire demeanor was professional but friendly and nurturing "oh, hi Don...we remember you because you were so nice...is there anything I can do to help" and the way she took the time to soothe Anne.
I suppose the women who played Ruthie, left after a while. I looked up the blond one but couldn't find anything on her and neither could I find anything much on the woman who played Judy Bessemer. She was a dancer
Ann is so lucky to have Don Hollinger as a boyfriend. He's so devoted to her. What a terrific guy.
I agree! ❤

Donald Hollinger type guys went extinct with my dad's generation. Sad.

This show still holds-up. I think this was entirely charming. Thank you for posting. DA
Yes!
You’re a Donald! ❤
What a terrific show! Mr. Davis doesn't know what he missed.

How could that awful Mr. Davis not hire Quella Ragazza. He ought to be ashamed of himself.
I was listening while doing something else and thought that Mr Davis's secretary was a man!
Yes, she does have a deep voice, I thought Dorothy in the golden girls had a man's voice but this lady's is worse.

Plus ..She Towers over Everyone in Height ...
The secretary is a well known actress I can't think of her name right now thiugh
Dee J. Thompson
The Glass Bottom Boat
Love In a Goldfish Bowl
The Killer is Loose
If any actress tried this today they wouldn’t get past security. If they got past security then they would call the cops.
Geez...how many wives did Jerry have? Big production flaw during series.

Annoying loud fake crying!
