Never seen a Noel Coward play before so this was an enjoyable watch. Joan Collins and Susannah York were great in this. I enjoyed the Saunders character ,as well. Fun female characters with witty dialogue.
Ahhh! The world of Noel Coward! Did he ever, ever, ever portray a world that was not just too, too frightfully, terribly, fantastically, imposingly grand and, well, just super?! One feels the almost primal need for a cigarette and a cocktail while watching this positively delightful meringue of a confection with Joan Collins as the cherry on top, eventhough that is rather naughty of me to say...
I love Jon’s fur still having the head and legs and paws and tail on! Women actually wore those in those days, and old ladies still wore them to our church in the 1960s and 70s, as a small child they scared me. Nowadays you don’t see them in period dramas, they take out most of the politically incorrect stuff.
When the ladies were getting so excited about Maurice possibly arriving after 7 ? years, I started to wonder if their glamour - boy might have changed, and become " stodgy ", or would that be a bit too obvious ? Noel's ending was more fitting ,of course ! Nicely done ! Susannah's 1st dress was nice...😊 Loved the silk panels. 🇬🇧😊🦉📖💙😊🇬🇧
Stumbling across this has made my night, thank you!
Absolutely brilliant play. Great acting too.

Love Noel Coward’s works …. THANKS 🎉
This and "The Golden Road" are two vintage pieces tv that I've always wanted to see but seemed oddly elusive. Thank you much for uploading this! ❤❤
A fantastic find .. thank you. ;o)
Really enjoyed this, and such good acting ♥️ 🌸

Excellent!
I don't know where you've got the date of 01 August 1974 from, but the play wasn't listed for any ITV company on that day. Tx: 20 December 1974.
It said at the end
that it was an
" Anglia " t.v.
production...
Loved seeing it here
for the first time.
