My (Italian) grandmother attended a concert Carol O'Connor gave, and he performed an Italian song. He told the audience the reason why an Irish boy like him was singing Italian songs was because growing up, he wanted to play with the Italian kids in the next neighborhood over...so to do that, he had to pick up some fluency in Italian along the way. 🇮🇪 🇮🇹
Valpolicello -- one of Verdi's finest! hahaha hahaha Loved this show back in the day, and love it now. This channel is my hero. Picture, sound, all good, and the whole intro and ending music all there, nothing cut off. Perfection.
Rob Reiner, soon to be Archie Bunker's "Meat Head" son-in-law, on AITF, also made a couple of small appearances on That Girl. Once as an acting school student, and once as an overzealous hairdresser. More show biz connections.
After blowing the interview Donald goes to Ann's apartment and knocks, then Ann gets up to let him in. It seems unusual for a man to knock to be let in to his fiancée's apartment.
I would not have recognized Carroll O'Connor as the opera star. More like the last days of Orson Welles. Of course this was before 'All In The Family' hit the airwaves. I wonder what Archie Bunker would have thought of Guiseppe, the Italian opera star. Probably a bunch of racial slurs would have come flying out of his mouth. Also, this episode was written by Joseph Bonaduce, who is the father of Danny Bonaduce, (Danny Partridge) from "The Partridge Family." Just another interesting classic t.v. trivia tidbit.
At 4:04 Giesseppi blows a raspberry at Donald. I don't know, maybe the future Archie Bunker thought he saw Meathead there. Archie would probably like Giesseppi for that alone. "At least he has some class there, youse know." @@bluecollarlit
More trivia: in just a few short years, he and Ted Bessel would be competing for the Emmy Award, both losing to Jack Klugman as Oscar on “The Odd Couple”.
"Quella Ragazza" :-) That's one of the best ones yet.
Wow, Carol O'Connor as an Italian opera singer.

In The Time Tunnel, he played a British Colonel.
@@AC-ih7jc I never heard about that. Being Italian myself, I love that story! Thank you for sharing! 🇮🇹
carol O'Connor was a great Devers actor
Archibaldo Buncario. "i went to an opera once...the Marriage of Figaro...but I missed the reception..." Hahahaha.

Thank you so much for posting these episodes of That Girl. I'm enjoying them! ❤
White gloves really need a comeback 🤍
Fabulous yellow suit with black buttons. Urban chique of the era.
At 13:25 I was expecting "Archie" to call Don a meathead at any moment.
Well, he certainly could be a meat head sometimes…
I just adore tje clothes of tje 60s all kinds just gorgeous
Carol O' Connor as an Italian Opera singer?
Weird!
He's quite an actor!
Archie Bunker singing opera! Ann sure knows how to work a little blackmail!
Just don't let Edith know. She'll wanna sing, too.
@@docadams7099Nothing wrong with that!
wow Carroll O'connor - big actors started somewhere - on that girl.
Yes, that does seem to be true of quite a few actors, and a comedian, who later became quite famous.

una propuesta indecente jajajaj
At 4:05 it's shades of things to come. The future Archie Bunker blows a raspberry. I guess he thought Donald Hollinger was a Meathead.
Oh, Archie!
Archie had the most beautiful blue eyes

Archie Bunker:
Your Italians, they sing better than other people naturally.
All the spaghetti sauce is beneficial to their vocal cords, there.
😊
