If you look back into Growing Pains when Steven had his x-ray taken, steven’s spine is technically held up by his gem. Since he is half human and half gem, he still has every bone a normal human has. He has the same bone structure. That was the reason he looked like he was dying in Change Your Mind when White Diamond took out his gem. The spine wasn’t collapsing per-say, but it was very weak. Steven would actually probably die if his gem was removed for a long time. So I think removing his gem to stop corruption or something else like that isn’t a bright idea Edit: to people in the replies, his gem is connected to his spine, but doesn’t hold it up. In change your mind, the reason he was dying was basically because he had half of his life ripped from him since he’s half gem. connie gave steven the pink jacket on a ep steven on his b day made himself grow bigger and the jacket did not fully fit him same as in steven universe future it dose not fully fit him that jacket may just be one of gregs old jackets
Just want to point out, when Steven goes into Greg’s storage unit to find rose’s cannon, you can actually see the jacket he wears inside the storage unit. So I don’t think he found that jacket inside the chest.

Lion's tree looks pretty healthy; lot of leaves, vibrant pink color, no broken or cracked branches, and no splintered or flaking bark. I don't know which of their video you were referring to but Lion's tree is an African tree called Baobab while Lars' tree is probably a maple. Their trees are mostly like based on either their personality or where they're from. Lars' tree being bigger with more leaves probably just caused confusion but both of their trees look healthy so Lion probably won't be dying any time soon, if that makes you feel better.

My Theory: I think Steven's gem was giving him energy from when he was a baby. It keeps him alive, so he never got to develop by himself. Thus, when taking out his gem, it's like resetting him back to a baby, seeing as he can't walk and he's really weak. Idk thats my trash theory
Abraham Barajas Rebecca confirmed that pink wouldn’t reform. She’s gone. What u need to understand is that Steven is a hybrid. He needs his gem in order to survive, and from we know, only Steven has the powers to resurrect life. And that’s another thing, Lars is human, he doesn’t need a gem because he’s organic life, Steven is half gem and human. That’s why he was as able to be resurrected.

3:19 my theory is that when Steven had his gem removed in change your mind, he was actually finally feeling the pain from his bones being broken over the series. Connie‘s mom said that the bones have been healing themselves over time, but without the gem, they just break apart.

I think with spinels reboot sythe, it might have also taken away the small bit of rose quarts that was left in the gem, that loving steven and loving being steven that was that self love steven felt. Steven didnt fully recover from the incident, or atleast his gem didnt, it is in that early stage of pink that was violent and keen on bursts of anger. Hence why all his abilities seem more diamond than his soft. Gem programming mixed with adolescent hormones and trauma without the self love he had before.
As cool as the idea of Steven learning to live without his gem is, Idk if that’ll happen. I feel like that would completely invalidate the ending sequence of “change your mind”. Like yeah Pink Steven is the root of the powers, but he’s also a PART of Steven, not just his powers. It would be like ripping his identity in half.
Probably not. Those broken bones healed instantly. He's already fixed, physically. It isn't as if his gem is keeping the bones together constantly. The bone has already fused back together.
I just realized that in the intro scene with the giant worm monster, only that monster had eyes that actually looked like eyes. All the other enemies ' eyes, mouth, and gems are just glowing things in the shape of their eyes, mouth, and gems. Maybe this signals the actual importance of the monster.
I once thought that he’s jacket could be the key of he’s Strange emotional problems because that could be the sign of he’s mother still part of him even though that Steven is he’s own person to who he really is not just a gem. Steven is still not like all the rest because he still half crystal gem, on change your mind when he’s gem was remove he was looking like he was actually going to die but for he’s corruption, the only way for the diamonds and Crystal gem to help him is by letting him relocate his memory by getting in his own mind Conscious as he talks to himself or his Mother AKA Pink Diamond. With the bit about how the gemstone changes size when fusing, i think the reason for amethyst's gem not getting smaller is becase she was just shapeshifting, fusing is extremely different in that it creates a whole new being. Just a thought lol
Here’s a theory: maybe Steven does not get corrupted but rather takes on the shape he believes he is: a monster. He things everyone sees him as a monster because it seems like he can’t control his outbursts (which he can’t) and has no idea why.
The gem is apart of him you take it out of him like White Diamond did he becomes weak and helpless. In “Growing Pains” if you look closely at the x-ray you can see Steven’s gem it stands in the middle of his spine. Without the gem Steven can’t stand normally that’s why Steven was falling and needed Connie to carry him. Steven and his gem or Pink Steven have connection it’s like there twins you take one twin the other will feel lonely and depressed or can’t live without the other but when there together they feel happy and satisfied with each other. So that idea probably won’t happen at the end. But, him leaving Beach City probably will happen.

I have a theory for gems being bigger in fusion. When gems fuse they turn into another gem. It means that if the gem was as small as the normal fused gem it would just make the fusion to look like just 2 or more gems stuck together.

First, In a Single Pale Rose, when Steven entered Pearl’s gem, we could see Pearl’s current form was kind of the surface of inside her gem, and the past Pearls were kinda Sub-Files inside Pearl’s gem. So as we can see, imagine this: A computer file called Pearl’s Gem, when you enter it, you’ll find an archive called Current Form along another file which, when you enter, will have another Form that Pearl one day used to have along side another file containing other Form of Pearl, and this will keep going until Pearl’s first form. So here is my point, In Steven’s Gem, the surface is Pink Steven, and the Sub-Files are Rose and Pink. As you could see in a Single Pale Rose, Pearl’s past forms could interact with Steven Normally and had Free Will to do what they wanted, since the Pink Diamond form of pearl could give Pearl’s phone to Steven. The same happens with Rose and Pink inside Steven’s gem! They can’t come back but they’re not gone, as Rose said, everytime Steven loved himself it was her loving him, so Pink and Rose are conscious what’s happening to Steven right now. Conclusion, Pink and Rose are not Gone.

THEORY TIME!! Omg! You just open up a new perspective! On the theory of steven removing his own gem, while the corruption is taking place. This could mean that pink diamond is the one who is gonna get corrupted. While steven lost all his energy, as he watches his gem turn into a monster. the reason why he is swelling, is because of the corruption cannot properly form, because of his organic body. So when he removes his gem, it will be a way to able to form that monster with all his negative emotions transfering to his gem. Then at the ending, when everyone is save, they will heal pink diamond's gem then she will form back into her original form, while steven is will now stay as a human. And thats why the end credit song is titled as "being human".
Instead of being corrupted, maybe Steven will gain an ability to project his emotions- like blue once did with her tears -but with mass. The amethyst theory was freaking adorable. Also my theory on knights is that Pearl saw a bunch of Morganites, the "Knights" for the Diamonds and high rank gems. Feeling inspired by them, Pearl practiced knight like behavior with Morganites who were formerly in the Crystal gems, because remember, there's stills some unknown Crystal Gems.

He needs his gem in order to survive, and from we know, only Steven has the powers to resurrect life. And that’s another thing, Lars is human, he doesn’t need a gem because he’s organic life, Steven is half gem and human. That’s why he was as able to be resurrected.

I think with spinels reboot sythe, it might have also taken away the small bit of rose quarts that was left in the gem, that loving steven and loving being steven that was that self love steven felt. Steven didnt fully recover from the incident, or atleast his gem didnt, it is in that early stage of pink that was violent and keen on bursts of anger. Hence why all his abilities seem more diamond than his soft. Gem programming mixed with adolescent hormones and trauma without the self love he had before.

As cool as the idea of Steven learning to live without his gem is, Idk if that’ll happen. I feel like that would completely invalidate the ending sequence of “change your mind”. Probably not. Those broken bones healed instantly. He's already fixed, physically. It isn't as if his gem is keeping the bones together constantly. The bone has already fused back together.
I just realized that in the intro scene with the giant worm monster, only that monster had eyes that actually looked like eyes. All the other enemies ' eyes, mouth, and gems are just glowing things in the shape of their eyes, mouth, and gems. Maybe this signals the actual importance of the monster.

Here’s a theory: maybe Steven does not get corrupted but rather takes on the shape he believes he is: a monster. He things everyone sees him as a monster because it seems like he can’t control his outbursts (which he can’t) and has no idea why.

In “Growing Pains” if you look closely at the x-ray you can see Steven’s gem it stands in the middle of his spine. Without the gem Steven can’t stand normally that’s why Steven was falling and needed Connie to carry him. Steven and his gem or Pink Steven have connection it’s like there twins you take one twin the other will feel lonely and depressed or can’t live without the other but when there together they feel happy and satisfied with each other. I have a theory for gems being bigger in fusion. When gems fuse they turn into another gem. It means that if the gem was as small as the normal fused gem it would just make the fusion to look like just 2 or more gems stuck together.

First, In a Single Pale Rose, when Steven entered Pearl’s gem, we could see Pearl’s current form was kind of the surface of inside her gem, and the past Pearls were kinda Sub-Files inside Pearl’s gem. So as we can see, imagine this: A computer file called Pearl’s Gem, when you enter it, you’ll find an archive called Current Form along another file which, when you enter, will have another Form that Pearl one day used to have along side another file containing other Form of Pearl, and this will keep going until Pearl’s first form.
So here is my point, In Steven’s Gem, the surface is Pink Steven, and the Sub-Files are Rose and Pink. As you could see in a Single Pale Rose, Pearl’s past forms could interact with Steven Normally and had Free Will to do what they wanted, since the Pink Diamond form of pearl could give Pearl’s phone to Steven. The same happens with Rose and Pink inside Steven’s gem! They can’t come back but they’re not gone, as Rose said, everytime Steven loved himself it was her loving him, so Pink and Rose are conscious what’s happening to Steven right now. Conclusion, Pink and Rose are not Gone.

On the theory of steven removing his own gem, while the corruption is taking place. This could mean that pink diamond is the one who is gonna get corrupted. While steven lost all his energy, as he watches his gem turn into a monster. the reason why he is swelling, is because of the corruption cannot properly form, because of his organic body. So when he removes his gem, it will be a way to able to form that monster with all his negative emotions transfering to his gem.
Then at the ending, when everyone is save, they will heal pink diamond's gem then she will form back into her original form, while steven is will now stay as a human.
And thats why the end credit song is titled as "being human".
