    This is what I want from UCS. Not those big fuck off models that only people living in the middle of nowhere have a house big enough to display them in and that cost as much as a new flagship phone. That combined with a commitment to details and smooth surfaces.

    • @hexenhammer483
      @hexenhammer483 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agreed. UCS sets take up so much space. The Falcon is massive and usually people have room for one or two sets of that size.

      Plus you can't even hold me in your hands and srent really sxalae(to big or to small) mini fig scale is should be the norm that sets the setd to be able to handled and nit fall part and displayed nicely

      Then you don’t want UCS you want an adult edition Lego set. UCS is always about being big and expensive. That’s why I love it.

    • @joevictor53
      @joevictor53 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Same here. Those sets are way too big and way too expensive. If I was obsessed with Lego and had several rooms dedicated to it, I can understand getting those kinds of sets. But as a casual fan of Star Wars who also likes other franchises and non-licensed stuff, the UCS stuff is just not for me. I'd love it if Lego would do stuff like this. Playscale but look more accurate. They already make playscale ones that are less accurate for kids to play with so why not go in the other direction.

  • @mistermanap
    @mistermanap 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I love the design! Over the last days I have done some 'research' and I think that you have the most all-around design of all playscale falcon mocs. Yes, there are quite a few on Rebricable already, with 2-3 that are top notch, with beautiful greabling and interior details. But they have a very ugly bottom, not retractable landing gear and no ramp, strange airlocks. Your design is nice from all angles. From your approximation it seems that it is also done with smaller number of pieces then other mocs, which is also good. All I am saying is that you still have a niche with your design - at least I would buy the instructions😊. I think doing them could be worth your effort, just please have in mind that a base ship will retire at the end of 2024, so I think that the sweet spot is pretty much now. Cheers and much respect for your engineering skills👍

    • @mistermanap
      @mistermanap 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One small thing - in your design airlocks are a little too extended. In renderings, the airlocks do not protrude beyond the outline of the ship, and are even set back a little. I think there is an easy fix by removing one-two layers of tiles from underneath 😊

    • @BAUFmanBricks
      @BAUFmanBricks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! And instructions are currently in progress, I hope to have them within a month. And good eye for the airlocks, I decided to extend them because the cylinder shape does protrude from hexagonal wall end more than the original lego set, however your right, it’s supposed to be within the frame of the ship. I can’t move the hexagonal walls in and the shallow cylinder airlocks bugged me more than the current protrusion. Plus, it gives a bit of an optical illusion to make the ship just a bit larger than the original set

    Amazing, waiting to find out when and how to get your instructions, in the process of buying set now. Your improvements could even be applied to the $850 set. I am a fan of the (original) Star Wars saga and I lived the best years of my childhood with LEGO bricks, which is why in December I gave myself set 75257 because I consider it one of the best made by LEGO (excluding set 75192 which it's too expensive and bulky) but the lack of details and the numerous "errors" (such as the lack of a passage to access the cockpit) disappointed me so I started looking for more detailed versions made by passionate people.
    After watching dozens of videos, this is by far the most complete, realistic and detailed version I have found!
    Congratulations and, as the French say, "chapeau!" (That is: I take off my hat and bow as a sign of admiration and esteem).
    I also really hope that you will be able to offer us the possibility of modifying our Falcon 75257 following your instructions.
    A curiosity: must the necessary pieces be purchased directly via the official LEGO website?
    P.S.
    Since I am Italian and don't speak English well, I used a translator (I apologize for any errors).

      Thank you! When I complete the instructions you will have access to the inventory of pieces. The easy thing to do is take that list (an xml file) and upload it to Bricklink. Then you can buy all the pieces from multiple sellers. Another option is using the Lego Pick-a-brick store, but it is not easy because it does not allow a list upload option and it may bot have all the pieces necessary. However, sometimes pick-a-brick will offer newer pieces cheaper. If you decide to order a few pieces from pick-a-brick you can take them off your bricklink list

    Man... what a great SW MOC! The engine effect is really smart. I built a Falcon a little larger in size back in 2005 and the design complexities to make it with a playable interior are intense!! So good job! I'm also more into the smaller scaled sets because they require smarter build techniques and scale better with other sets. UCS sets somehow leave me disappointed with the weight, size, and cost.

    • @BAUFmanBricks
      @BAUFmanBricks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly! Those UCS sets are so big and extreme they have to skimp on interiors for the sake of money, weight, structural stability, time investment, etc

    R2D2 is massive, maybe time for Lego to revisit their astromech droid designs to see if hey can think up a way to make them more in scale.

      I have thought for a long time they could have made the legs 3 studs wide instead of 4. However, 4 studs matches up to things more easily due to the even number. I doubt it’ll change
