SWEET!!! I would be interested also if you could design your own Clone Wars Clone warships. Some people on Deviant Art designed smaller Corellian patrol ships that use parts from the Blockade Runner.
I can't wait for the instructions! I have been looking around at MOC instructions to modify my Millenium Falcon, and this is by far my favorite. Any chance that you will include a parts list for what is needed to add to the original set?
This is what I want from UCS. Not those big fuck off models that only people living in the middle of nowhere have a house big enough to display them in and that cost as much as a new flagship phone. That combined with a commitment to details and smooth surfaces.
Plus you can't even hold me in your hands and srent really sxalae(to big or to small) mini fig scale is should be the norm that sets the setd to be able to handled and nit fall part and displayed nicely
Same here. Those sets are way too big and way too expensive. If I was obsessed with Lego and had several rooms dedicated to it, I can understand getting those kinds of sets. But as a casual fan of Star Wars who also likes other franchises and non-licensed stuff, the UCS stuff is just not for me. I'd love it if Lego would do stuff like this. Playscale but look more accurate. They already make playscale ones that are less accurate for kids to play with so why not go in the other direction.
The quality for the channel, both in cinematography, narration and camera presence is far beyond what it should be for a channel so small. Great stuff!
He states at the beginning it literally is an official version of Lego it's just humidified it and can't give him credit for something that you didn't do all his own
this is really fantastic! im blown away at both the exterior look, and interior detail! this is like, THE perfect model. I've become so used to the lego norm that i've forgotten that they really don't give us things like this. so good!!!
I love this guy in my opinion a lot of lego Star Wars sets don't hit the mark of playable and displayable but this guy just said "I'll do it myself!" I wish official lego was this good.
This is awesome. Its funny how much space there is in there, room wise. Breaking up lines of sight with walls to create the illusion of a ton of space is a great trick. It's used on a large scale in skyrim with the mountains, to create the illusion the map is bigger than it actually is.
Oh I am definitely doing it with my UCS Playscale and how I size my ships. I just unintentionally did it on this interior. I have been thinking about doing a diorama set with size illusions
1:50 I have a 2015 Lego Millennium Falcon, and you need hold it with two hands. And you know what? This MOC surprises and pleases me, because you can hold it with *ONE HAND.* This is amazing!
Hi, this is pretty sweet. I would love to be able to moc the millennium falcon like that. Good to see instructions are coming. Might be something to consider. Great vid.
You are a Hero, thats what i always want from Lego a Usc Set in Playscale because the details are amazing but nobody has enough space or money for the big usc falcon
That is great. I never quite liked how out of scale the UCS sets are. Providing this level a detail and all the fixes while being fairly scale accurate is impressive. Good job!
This is really good, and I fully agree with the thought behind it. Large sets are cool, but a super detailed smaller sets is so much easier to display!
I love the design! Over the last days I have done some 'research' and I think that you have the most all-around design of all playscale falcon mocs. Yes, there are quite a few on Rebricable already, with 2-3 that are top notch, with beautiful greabling and interior details. But they have a very ugly bottom, not retractable landing gear and no ramp, strange airlocks. Your design is nice from all angles. From your approximation it seems that it is also done with smaller number of pieces then other mocs, which is also good. All I am saying is that you still have a niche with your design - at least I would buy the instructions😊. I think doing them could be worth your effort, just please have in mind that a base ship will retire at the end of 2024, so I think that the sweet spot is pretty much now. Cheers and much respect for your engineering skills👍
One small thing - in your design airlocks are a little too extended. In renderings, the airlocks do not protrude beyond the outline of the ship, and are even set back a little. I think there is an easy fix by removing one-two layers of tiles from underneath 😊
Thank you! And instructions are currently in progress, I hope to have them within a month. And good eye for the airlocks, I decided to extend them because the cylinder shape does protrude from hexagonal wall end more than the original lego set, however your right, it’s supposed to be within the frame of the ship. I can’t move the hexagonal walls in and the shallow cylinder airlocks bugged me more than the current protrusion. Plus, it gives a bit of an optical illusion to make the ship just a bit larger than the original set
I’ve seen a Lego’s models that sacrifice detail for sturdiness, and so many great looking Mocs that are too fragile to move, and I think this is a really good in between. Feels close to an official set but definitely a tier above
I’ve recently discovered your TH-cam channel and I am amazed by your builds. The playscale, UCS quality, and accuracy you go for is everything I have wanted from Lego. Your builds go above and beyond and I’m excited to see what you will build in the future. I know you are looking to do more original trilogy sets, but eventually down the line I was hoping you could create a version of Anakin’s eta-2 Jedi Interceptor from episode 3. After seeing your version of the x-wing and falcon, I can only imagine how you’ll handle the eta-2. Keep up the amazing work!
Would LOVE instructions. I started doing the exact same thing (fixing a play scale falcon), but I haven’t finished it, and yours is infinitely better than what mine was shaping up to be.
I really hope you are going to make the instructions for this wonderful ship. It really looks fantastic! It certainly feels a lot better then both UCS Falcons.
5:29 - The Falcon actually used to have 4 landing gears, they had to add the 5th one when they built the full movie set version and realized it couldn't withstand the weight of the mandibles xD so it's actually MORE accurate than the UCS! Great job on this one! Please sell instructions if you can, it will be a fine addition to any collection! Amazing!
Very clean and sleek looking Falcon. I just finished rebuilding mine and I got to agree with you on the amount of space that is limited for details, it's tricky to get all the features you want in a MOC and this is one of those ships that takes the cake. Awesome review! 👍
This is actually really good. I was just thinking about down scaling some of the ships from the Lego Star Wars franchise, and you did it and showed it could look good. Most impressive. Also, I love the fact that you added a bathroom
I think you hit the nail on the head… I’d much rather have a detailed playscale over huge hard to display UCS sets any day. I have a request, could you work your magic on a playscale Sandcrawler? The UCS is crazy big (and uses the old brown flawed pieces) while the new one is awesome but a bit small. Something maybe 20-30% bigger than the later version would be really nice 😊
Amazing, waiting to find out when and how to get your instructions, in the process of buying set now. Your improvements could even be applied to the $850 set. Lot of builders would go for the larger set, even with the high cost, the issue is SPACE, few people have the space to display it. Your version is a substantial upgrade of a workable size that can be easily displayed.
Exactly, space to put on a normal shelf is a big deal to me. It’ll probably be a month or more before instructions are out and I imagine I’ll sell them for around $20, I’ll make announcements.
