Thanks for tuning into this weeks updates on the van build 🙂. It's getting there! The dream is slowly becoming a reality 😁 thank you all for your support 👍
with the stickers id tar and glue remover works great then give the van a deep clean then clay bar it wash it again then buff the whole van will look like new once done hard work but definitely worth it reason for buffing the whole van is the stickers have stopped paid age or sun fade only way is to buff great videos as always and plenty of information cant wait to see it finished
I kept the blue lights all over and battenburg reflective stuff on the back of mine so I do actually kinda blend in, I do get called a speed camera van every now and again though 😅
I would be inclined to keep old markings like where the stickers have been removed. At least some of it. Some old fixtures too. It all tells the story of the van and makes it a bit more interesting. I tend to not repair small damage to my van either if it happened whilst on a trip. I can look at it and it reminds me of the place I got it. I got that scratch in Scotland or that small crumple on the bumper in Norway.
Gets some petrol on a rag remove the left over glue from stickers and any tar that's flicked up off the road and stuck to the sides of van amd then get it professionally mopped all paintwork will come up like new and if you've got to have any paintwork it'll make it easier to match
Ace upgrades 😍👌 looks loads better 👍. Excited to see how it comes along 😊. For the paintwork and sticker marks a good machine polish will get rid of them and freshen the paint up a treat 😀
@@BrendanExplores I think a machine polish would definitely help them blend in, but I suspect they won't disappear. If this idea fails, it might be worth considering putting other decals on top. Alternative is repainting or wrapping the entire van and that's a big job.
Nice job Brendan, the tints look amazing. Hope you kept the ceiling board for a template. to remove the rest of the stickers use a caramel wheel, if you do not manage to get it done before we next meet, I'll bring mine. Of course you could get the bonnet rapped.
If its sticky residue on the panels a tar and glue remover will work or a toffee wheel on a drill (just ensure you move it about and do t stay in one place too long). On the bonnet it looks like the paint is flat so ideally you need a DA polisher (safer than a rotary polisher if you have no experience) along with the appropriate pads/polish to restore the shine on the paintwork.
Try some just the tonic from autobrite a company based in stoke so localish to you and then use a da polisher and some cutting compound on it Autoshine and tinting best company around and Duncan is a top bloke
@@BrendanExplores my thoughts, if a professional can do it, then let them, they have gained years of experience and won't make mistakes, having said that, look at rear beds that slide out, over seating, with slide out table, I've seen, loo and shower behind front seats, and you get a pass through,
Bit of tar and glue remover for the remaining stickers then machine polish whole van to bring paint back up, done loads of these vans, when you start polishing you realise just how big they are lol
Good stuff bud. But you know very well you should have mentioned Tim Westwood over Xzibit. 😆 I'm building my wife a grooming van with an Ford delivery van. Gonna do a whole Pimp My Ride episode for her.
love that your subscribers are starting to go up and up mate, watched from the start and always such positive vibes in your videos. hope your well buddy!
Thank you mate, I really appreciate you saying that and supporting from the start 👍. It's been a surreal journey really and no matter how big the channel gets, I'll still be goofy old me 😂
I've got an ex police van and the only thing which removed the sticky residue was cellulose thinners, and I tried everything ,3d do a rubber wheel for drill works but slow .
In regards to removing old residue either sticky stuff remover or buying some white automobile paint and paint over it is the first thing that comes to my mind, I don't drive or own a van but i think it may work. I'd recomend you paint over then you don't risk damaging paint work if there is something in sticky stuff remover that damages pain't as I'm unsure if it does contain any paint harmful chemicals. Goto your local halfords as they would sell paint and hopefully point you in the right direction being a shop that deals with vheicles etc.
Try machine polish with compound to remove old signage. Take wheels off and paint black so you'll not see old rims too. ( can see you changing wheels too 😂 ). Vans looking great though looking forward to finished result just take your time though it'll be ready when it's ready.
