“After I finished my civil engineering degree in Brazil in the end of 2015 I decided that I wanted to take an extra step. So with the full support of my long time adventure partner I started a Master Degree at Sydney University and that’s how we sold most of our belongings and moved from Brazil to Australia. But 6 months later we realized that actually that was not what we were looking for. So instead of flying back straight to our country, we decided to take a few sabbatical months and travel until the end of 2016. The plan was simple, we wanted to travel to places where it is cheap and/or comfortable, and take the time to think about our own lives so we could decide what we wanted to do from 2017 and on. That’s the story we tell in this first season of Odd Life Crafting” Duca

“Depois de eu me formar em engenharia civil no Brasil no final de 2015, eu decidi que eu queria dar um passo adiante. Sendo assim, com o total apoio da minha parceira de aventuras de longa data, eu comecei um Mestrado em Engenharia Estrutural na Universidade de Sydney, e foi assim que vendemos grande parte dos nossos pertences e nos mudamos do Brasil para a Austrália. Porém, 6 meses mais tarde nós percebemos que não havíamos encontrado o que estávamos esperando. Ao invés de voar diretamente de volta para o nosso país, resolvemos tirar alguns meses sabáticos e viajar até o final de 2016. O plano era simples, nós queríamos viajar para lugares que fossem baratos e ao mesmo tempo confortáveis, e tirar um tempo para pensarmos nas nossas próprias vidas, e tentar descobrir o que gostaríamos de fazer da vida de 2017 em diante. Essa é a história que nós vamos contar nesta primeira temporada de Construindo uma Vida Ímpar” Duca

This was a great episode! Having been to Bali and befriended a Balinese family, I am reminded what friendly, happy people the Balinese are. Duca did a great job woodcarving- he really seemed to enjoy it. OLC 1.3!

Such a beautiful life, surrounded by beautiful people! The best part of life is sharing local cultures with local people. To me there home looked like a palace fit for royalty, yet they seem like such simple and genuine people. Thank you for a glimpse into such a beautiful culture, that I would have otherwise never have experienced. P.S. I love how you end these earlier episodes with your closing credits hand written , drawn, and cut out and colored! That is so creative, and fun to watch! Thank you Roberta and Duca!

It is so great when you can immerse yourself into others culture! an open mind and heart can take you a long way! I got to go from Michigan USA, to all over Europe with our High School Band, the best part was being able to stay in their homes and learn their culture. Something I will never forget. Great Video, thank you for sharing. Great to see your path, and I feel privileged to be able to see it as well. Thank you.
What an amazing and memorable experience. I'm so glad that your friend invited both of you to learn about his family and their traditions. Reminds me of my grandmother's(Lola) home in the Philippine province of Calamba Laguna. She had the most beautiful floor to ceiling wood divider, separating the living room and family room. It had been hand carve by her great uncle. I would often stare at the exquisite details and run my fingers between the ornate openings. Now I can picture what he may have looked like, carving that work of art!
