Hey! You are inspiring. ✨ Solo through the ocean!!! How do you solve the drinking water problem? It’s a small yacht and long trip. 3liters per day for a more than a month would be a big volume which I assume not enough on the small sailboat ⛵️ Or are you using some technologies to convert ocean water to make it available for drinking water? Or are you collecting the rain water? I’m sorry if you already disclosed this topic before. Also, what do you think, is it possible to make such a trip without the purchased food and survive only from the fish caught from the ocean? Also what was the longest period without the wind? Assume no motor. How long the person can wait for the wind? Like a few days? TIA and good luck! 🍀 Again what you are doing is awesome and very inspiring! You’re the man! 👍 🙌 👏
Drinking water isn’t a problem. The boat has 3 tanks of 120l of water. Next to that I have 40l in jerrycans and another 50 litres in plastic water bottles. It is possible to collect rainwater or use a watermaker as well. But the easiest way is just to bring enough 😅. Surviving of the fish you catch would not be a good idea. Most fish are closer to shore where there are more smaller fish and reefs etc. You have to view the deep ocean as kind of a dessert. If you cross the doldrums you can be becalmed without wind for multiple days up to a week. But many sailors have done the trip without an engine. It just takes longer. I have only used the engine for like 5 hours up to now. Have a look at the video of the 18ft boat crossing oceans on my channel for some real small boat adventures. My boat at 41ft is huge compared to that with all the luxuries.
Die Deutsche Übersetzung ist eine Katastrophe. Sorry, aber sehr langweiliges Gerede. Gute Basis zum einschlafen. Monoton, Monoton, Besser keine Übersetzung als so.
Happy Xmas Hugo! Proost op jou en Pinta van ons (Elle en Gertjan, Twirre -> nieuwe naam nog geheim 😉)
