    Hey mate. Firstly thank you for all the effort you put into these videos. It shows like hell and I’m grateful there are ppl like you giving attention to these niche items. Also I hope I’m not out of line here but I wanted to comment that your English has improved so much and I commend you for putting effort in that aspect ( not that your English was ever bad, just a small detail I noticed and wanted to comment on, In case it’s something you’ve been working on so that you know it doesn’t go unnoticed). Cheers mate

    I enjoy and value your reviews on all things connected to e-reading devices. Most are products that I won't purchase, but I like learning about how this technology works. And I would like to compliment you on the progress of your English enunciation. You have come a long way and it reflects much study and practice on your part. I see a wider audience and much success in your future. 🙂

    • @ChalidRaqami
      @ChalidRaqami  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on what you need. If you don't need the frontlight and mainly need notetaking, than I'd recommend waiting. The A6X2 is already pretty great and I suspect the A5X2 won't be any different. And if it unexpectedly isn't good, you can still get one of the Boox tablets.

    I think E-Ink still has a long way to go but it is getting better for sure. I think 2 things really need to be improved and thats color, and refresh rate. Maybe battery after all of that but I dont think battery will be much of a problem. I personally hope that we discover some breakthru that makes E-Ink better then traditional displays and that everything shifts to it lol.. but thats thinking big

    Leaving aside battery life, is the Note Air 3 still a better choice? Since I mainly read in the dark, I'm concerned that the extra screen brightness might be a problem.

  • @WreckmastaRCP
    @WreckmastaRCP 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Mydeepguide stated in his review that the 3 utilizes a thicker / less flexible screen than the 3C which could explain the weight difference.

    • @ChalidRaqami
      @ChalidRaqami  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that's the most likely explanation at this point. However, if that's the case, I wonder why E-Ink keeps talking about Carta technology if they are actually using Mobius-displays as the base for Kaleido. But it wouldn't be the first time that the E Ink Holdings isn't consistent with the naming of its displays.

    What's the difference with third party note apps. Say I want to use OneNote instead of the native app? Does the graphics card on the 3C improve that compared to the 3 mono? I have the 3C and I've got it going OK with OneNote but I'd consider the 3 mono for the better battery if OneNote performs the same.

    • @ChalidRaqami
      @ChalidRaqami  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In terms of pen latency both are very similar. But on the Note Air 3, the screen refreshes after each stroke, which is not happening with the Note Air 3C. So I'd say it's more comfortable to use on the Note Air 3C.

    I'm interested in web browser performance, Google Play integration and horsepower for running apps.

    • @ChalidRaqami
      @ChalidRaqami  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Google Play integration is exactly the same on both. You can log in and start downloading and installing apps. Pretty straight forward.
      The web browsing and app performance are a bit harder to judge. In terms of raw performance, both tablets are identical (same chip, same geekbench 6 score within the margin of error). But the Note Air 3C still has the upper hand because of the Boox Super Refresh (BSR) technology, because it's not only faster with the "Ultra fast"-mode, but also feels more responsive to input and has less ghosting compared to the X-mode on the Note Air 3.
      Especially scrolling actions seem to be quicker to respond with BSR and the fastest display mode. So I'd say the Note Air 3C is better in that regard.

There's also a bible program I'd like to install and possibly some writing software, thus my interest in the Play Store integration.

    Is there a way to turn off the color on the NA3C? I bought it for the 300 DPI and tablet functionality but don't really care about the color. And if that were possible, would what would have been color books appear in 300DPI after the switch?

    • @ChalidRaqami
      @ChalidRaqami  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, that's unfortuntely not possible with this kind of tech. PocketBook ereaders allow to turn down the color saturation to 0, so everything turns to greyscale. But the RGB-layer is still on top of the screen so it doesn't really look different in terms of crispness.
      So With E-Ink Kaleido 3 there's no B&W mode that helps with the color filter.
      It will be possible with E-Ink Gallery devices though.

    Does it allow to connect Bluetooth? Also, you say 50h battery life turning 15 pages but how does that compare with remarkable 2? I have one which I like and I love the battery life but it would be nice with android and also a front light as using it in bed without any light is a huge plus

    • @ChalidRaqami
      @ChalidRaqami  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, the Boox devices typically all allow to connect mice and keyboards via bluetooth.
      I'd say battery life on the Remarkable 2 is a bit better at the end of the day, because it doesn't have a frontlight. But writing a lot on the Remarkable or the Note Air 3 (not the 3C) will result in similar run times in my experience. So around 4-5 days of usage when writing 3-4 hours per day.
      Just keep in mind that these are rough estimates because WiFi signal strength and what else you do on the devices can have a huge impact. Writing less with either one will significantly increase battery life for example (as mentioned in the video).

    Excellent info 😊 Some questions. Is 41 nits enough for comfortable reading? Does 3C have warm light and will that increase the brightness even more (how many nits, if you tested that?). Finally , on the 3C is the contrast ratio high enough for comfortable reading if you have the back light high (or do the blacks get washed out in that case)? Thanks 😊👍

    • @ChalidRaqami
      @ChalidRaqami  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks! :)
      Yes, in my experience 40 nits is bright enough for reading comfortably during the day. For reading at night I dial it down further.
      To put it into perspective: Below 30 nits maximum brightness is too dim for comfortably on Kaleido 3 imho.
      Contrast is very good on pretty much all modern ereaders. I don't mention it anymore because it's so similar on the devices I've tested lately.

    • @jayaline
      @jayaline 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ChalidRaqami Thanks. So even the Kaleido 3 (despite the extra layer of the colour filter) has enough contrast for comfortable reading? ... Looks like you tested ≈45 nits using just the white front lights on the Air 3C? Does the brightness increase even further by increasing the warm light or will that just change the colour temperature? Thanks again.

      I've got this info from the Yt channel "My deep guide" :
      Reading with 100 % light, 8.33 hr for 3C and 20 hr for 3.
      30-50% light means 14.28 hr for 3C and 66 hr for 3.
      0% light for some reason 3C has the same time with 14.28hr and for 3 is 100 hr.
