I’m a newbie to your channel. I enjoyed this post so much. We are now retired but because of health issues we can’t travel. I just started coloring to help me deal with my pain. I am so sorry you weren’t appreciated for your generosity.. there is no excuse for bad manners. I don’t think we should ever take for granted for kindness’s shared. Some people can be incredibly thoughtless re acknowledgments - I don’t understand it at all, and don’t think it’s an age thing, because I know people of all ages like that.
Looking forward to the decluttering videos - it’s always fun watching someone else organise and get rid of things. Super glad you’ve managed to move your office out of the craft room - hope that makes a massive difference to how much you want to use it! The motor home plans sound very exciting - wishing you all the best journeys for 2024.

LOL re the 'thank-you notes' my Mum always made me sit and do that - people seem not to be able to converse now/interact and I wonder if they/we are beginning to assume this use of computers all the time means we think people can read our minds and actually know our tone of voice - I'm probably wrong judging by the ignition points not guarded by :)s. best of luck with 2024 :)

In my defence, its a lot tidier now. Managed to get it straight before Christmas. There's still too much stuff in it though 😆

I'm looking forward to the decluttering videos, I've already started & the British Heart Foundation are making a huge collection today (5 banana boxes crammed with unused kitchen stuff, a few cardboard boxes filled with books & 5 bin bags with unused craft stuff) I made the decision to get rid of stuff I liked but won't ever use so I'm quite sad to see some things go but the feeling of getting rid of stuff out weighs the sadness. If that makes sense!
I'm happy for you that you will definitely be having Wednesdays off this year I can remember your last years goals videos which does prove that good things come to those who wait! 😊

Well done on the decluttering, I know exactly what you mean about it being bitter-sweet to let things go, but I love the free feeling it gives, like you can breathe again. I think it's still going to take a while to go through my room as need to do it when I have time so, a couple of hours here and there. 🥰

I'm Colouring 1 Of The Picture's You Sent Me. I Hope This Year I Am Not In So Much Pain, 🤞🤞. I Want To Grow More Veg Going Try Marrow's Or Courgette, Peas, Carrots Brocoli, Onions, Kale, Spinach, Sweet potatoes ( I grow spuds in pots) loads Strawberry Plants, We Planted 1 Pear Tree, 2 Diff Kind Apple Trees, 1 Plum, Don t Have Greenhouse No more. I Don't Live I Big House, It's An End Of Terrace Of Only 4 Houses, Got Back Garden On Huge Slope, Front Garden Not Huge, Got Side Garden Put Fence Up So Dogs Can Go Out Have Wee An I Don't Have Go Look For Them If Chucking Down, Or In The Dark. Oh I Grow Flowers Too, Last Year My Gardens Were Not Really Bothered A Lot With, Our Son's Bought Us Shadow A GSD Beautiful Dog, Our Other Little Welsh Kelpie Had A Stroke Left Her Paralysed Had Be Put To Sleep, 😪😔Heart breaking. I Coloured A Lot This Is My 2nd Year Colouring,
Ooo growing fruit and veg sounds amazing! We planted 3 dwarf fruit trees in our garden about 10 years ago and both the pear tree and the apricot tree give loads of fruit now but the plum tree didn't survive.

Yay! Hope we see Roland this year.😁 Looking forward to the declutter series I am still decluttering some of my hobbies after we last spoke can't believe how much I got rid of but it does feel good. Still keeping my diamond painting small might get bigger canvases later but only what I will start right away 😇("Update"-the lady who I gave my new draft table to finally said thank you 😵💫) That was a lot of dosh to spend out on gifts NOT to receive a thank you Lily, it was always custom in my day to say thank you even if you didn't like what you received....perhaps your gifts would be better received at a children's hospital or something. Yes, I agree! When you calculate what 50 books adds up too... even at £5 a book that's £250 just on books alone! I easily sent out over £500 of goodies! Still, learnt my lesson now!

Hi Lilly Wishing you a really happy 2024.Thanks again everso much for my chalk pens and coloring books ...I used my pens in my sketch book , thankyou xxxx . like you…. time has really sped up .We moved house in April 2023 barely remember… as we have been crazy busy ..... Had to buy a planner Diary to get me back on track , need time to create. I am 47 going on 48 in April …been soooo tired, no inspiration.... that's why I got a planner hahahaha. Also getting a Puppy at some Point, this year…Another thing I want to start saving again as my hit Wishlist …is near the end …I love Roland he is plush wow brillo. my word is Control ! Ooooh, Roland is looking fancy! ( and thankfully nothing ratty about him!😂🐀) I'm sure you will have some wonderful trips in that! Sounds like an exciting year! My craft room needs a bit off an unhaul really, I have a lot of card and scrapbook stuff that I just don't use, but I just somehow can't let them go, ( Just in case!) Might start packing some of it up and lofting it, to see when I next feel the need to use it. I'm saddened that some folks couldn't even manage a thanks for the stuff you sent, that's really poor behaviour. I've been lucky that people I've sent stuff to, have been wonderful and grateful and I was delighted to see them using stuff that's just been sat here. so sorry. Hoping that perhaps hearing you say it will make them think about their rude behaviour. (although sadly if my classroom is anything to go by, perhaps not, I feel like I spend my life explaining manners) Enjoy your new adventures, I look forward to hearing about them. xx ❤

Roland is a very handsome chap indeed, I'm not even remotely envious lol. We had touring caravans for years, right up to when the kids got to the age of not wanting to come so we sold up. Having the extra space will be amazing, our last van had a fixed bed in a separate bedroom, pure bliss not having to make up the bed every night.
I loved your decluttering videos so I'm looking forward to the next series, really need to do my house so hoping for inspiration.
I don't have a DP stash and I'm not building one either, I've the painting I'm working on which was a Xmas prezzie from my son, and two others that I bought when DAC had the black Friday sale, that's it and it will stay that way lol.
Oh no, so sorry for being one of those that you had to chase re. my sisters parcel, I did have a million things on my mind though 😍
Anyway, back to swatching my Prismacolors now that the 2 missing purple pencils have arrived, they were £155 from Amazon, it's the older set from when they were swapping out the 2 pencils but hey ho, good price that I couldn't resist lol 💜💜💜

@@ArtJourneyUK Because of the grandkids I have a left handed fountain pen when they saw me struggle with a right handed unit. As I was doing (assisting) with their homework it seemed only right.
Marvelous! My own plan for 2024 is to end the year with fewer possessions than I started it, and to do art every day. Thank heavens for teleworking. It will extend my career by at least eight years. Happy trails to you! ❤

That is very interesting to hear, I’m from England but have lived in Vancouver 🇨🇦 most of my life, I’m a gen X by the way the forgotten generation, and I thought it was that English are more polite than Canadians and never even thought it was a generational thing but with what you said with the packages makes me think that it might not be an English vs Canadian thing! Lily, I don't want to be more of a downer on the subject, but when it comes to people responding after receiving something from someone... I own several second hand shops on the internet and I send about 10 parcels a week with them. The amount of people that even care to send anything besides just pressing the 'pay' button, is remarkably low in my experience. Now I do understand that you gave them a gift, rather than fulfilling an order they paid for and a thank you is a bit more common or appropriate in your case. But all I mean to say is that I think the landscape of the internet, as it has been in the last 10-15 years, has made us so 'lazy' when it comes to putting effort into communicating. And that simply because communicating is now so easy with the internet and social media, that I am pretty certain this is not an age-thing or young-people-thing. I see it everywhere with all kinds of people.
Interesting theory. When someone sends me a gift, I always say thank you. You're likely right that communication has become lazy indeed. Happy New Year Astra 🥰
