I hope people realize that idolatry is worse today than it ever was back in the biblical days. Celebrities are idols, Cell Phones ard idols, thinking you have to have expensive clothes and accessories is idolatry, that dang globe that people just can't seem to let go of (though God says the earth is fixed/stationary) There are so many ways that people are blindly practicing idolatry. And if you bring it to their attention..........they get all 🤬
My people are cursed for a lack of knowledge

I read these books in the early 1950 and I read it about 7 yrs ago. Their are many if them we went and got them and sent them back to Israel. The library's was burning them mist of all christians churches did this. These books are everywhere in more country other than USA. They have changed them . All of us are not dead.most of the people I knew were born in the 1800, and my father was born in 1903.

Im with you in this. What it is, is a forunner of what Yhwh is going to do with physical Israel. (The real 12 tribes. All of the major events that took place were themselves a kind of precourser to the last days events that are yet to come.
The main focus of Yhwhs word is always having to do with Israel playing the whore and worshipping false gods. And breaking his covenant. Just like Ezekiel 16.
And this story also reflects what happened to Job. And to everything is in Psalms, and all of the other prophets.

Stupid me -- I didn't get it the first time I listened. Joseph represents Jesus, and Asenath represents the bride. When you see the events of the story, regarding repentance, virginity, etc, it all makes sense.

The legend of her beauty was by word of mouth and no man saw her except for Potiphera (possibly also some eunich servants who were little boys, not men). She was hidden away in a tower. Danny e look into who Ishmael married. It's not an Egyptian, more like Hittite and Canaanite. The scriptures were written for the Israelites; read carefully Deuteronomy 28 and see who fits that bill for the tribe of whydah. If you can not see the in depth prophecies ask a Hebrew who notices the New Testament and especially the vision of Peter in acts.

I mean that would make sense. I just dislike the word angel and worship in the same breath. Unless it's the angel doing the worship. I know many people who still would (and do) go to 'church' where they think that worship of creatures like Mary and angels is okay. Thank you for the reply!

I couldn't help but noticing the minor contradictions with this interesting story. The fact that she is reputed to be beautiful 1:32 and yet is hidden away 2:15. and kept away from men 3:25.. seen only by Joseph 14:01.
The prolonged 7 day fast and ascetism seems hard to envisage as the human body can't go without water for three days.
That said, there was no law against the Jew marrying an Egyptian. Only the Canaanitic nations were excluded from intermarriage. Ishmael wed an Egyptian.
