My favorite body style is the Gen 6. I own a 2007 Malibu, with 158,000 miles on it, keep it very well maintained, and it runs like a champ. I just got a 2016 Malibu Limited LS (looks like the 2015), and I love the body style. It reminds me of my Gen 6, the squared look makes the cars look so much meaner, and really stand out among the other "sleeker" body styles.
The 2015 has one of the highest reliability ratings of any car built in the last decade. Can't say the same for the 2016. I will say the addition of Apple Carplay and Android Auto is a huge upgrade from the 2015 model.
I'll never understand why people want to "hide" the kind of car they drive. I'm a proud Chevy owner, that's all I buy, and all I'll ever buy. One day, I'll get my classics. I want a 1957 Bel Air and a 1959 Impala.
I just purchased my second car, my first was a 2015 Tahoe and I love it. I decided to purchase a car just for traveling and decided on the 2015 Malibu LT. My favorite feature is that when you stop at a traffic light, or anywhere, the engine sounds as if it is turned off. Great car. The styling of the 2016 wasn't me, and the 2015 was packed with cool features so it was more expensive then the 2016, but it was well-worth it. Love the car overall, and my Tahoe is my baby as well. The Tahoe is black and it looks perfect next to the White Malibu. :)
+HeliumGames Congrats on your purchases! The new Tahoes are amazing, and there are for sure tons of fans of the 2015 Malibus. Your Malibu must have the start-stop feature which is saving you fuel at those intersections. I can picture your black/white vehicle combos and I'm sure they look great together - Matt

The engine does actually turn off when your at a stop light.
You have my dream car!!! I actually have a black Malibu LT 2015 and I want a white Tahoe SOOO bad. Someday... I absolutely love love loooove my Malibu. It is an awesome car! I think the 2015 looks so much more stylish inside. The 16 looks very plain. And I’m sad to see they didn’t keep the squared off tail lights as that is one of my favorite features

Aw i was hoping for a comparison for both interiors
I got the 2015 LT since 2 years now )can find a long well received review on my channel including driving(...the new one is just a copy of the Impala interior, purely because that car is a bestseller...i stick to my 2015 (and yes considered a trade in as mine only has 22k miles on her lol) i'am keeping mine,.
The 2015's and earlier are still great cars too
the new one looks nice but very expressive.

Like the older design better(gm's own style)new copies uhh-hmm Hyundai Sonata to me.I like the idea of having your own signature styling which differentiates you from everyone else.Your own identity! love the led on the 2015's taillight at nite,you definitely know your behind a Malibu.Good effort but too much blending in with the others for me.Kia's on the right track & they're how old now??
+geminiwilliams037 Those are valid points, the older Malibu no doubt had its own distinctive look, as did the Cruze, but in the end the market dictates what the manufacturers do, and if the majority of buyers want a more curved look with squinty headlights, GM has to build it that way or be left in the dust. Good news is that there's still plenty of low mileage pre-2016 Malibus out there :)
Its going to be interesting to see the sales figure on the 2016 generation compared to last model.I wonder if they can move up a notch or(2) two in the midsize department? Guess time will tell.

I h or a 2016 malibu limited ltz 1lz loaded it's a awesome car looks and feels like a Minnie Carmaro but the new 16 malibu looks like shit reminds me of a 2012 good fusion squished front end impala back in you really screwed up GM go back to what people want and what works

The front of the new one looks awesome but the back is ugly as hell!! Looks like a Sonata or an old Ford Taurus. Give me the previous body style any day of the week

+Megan M It's just the interior is much different. The 2015 malibu has better quality interior while the 2016 has the best tech. I prefer the 2015 because I love the lighting of it and it has more features than a 2016 1lt. Just no car play
My 2015 Malibu turned into an inferno while I was driving at 20 miles an hour, GM investigated and refused to tell me the reason I believe it was the start stop ignition. They made me believe they cared LOL and would do the admirable thing for a long time customer but they did not only gave me Kelley blue book even though the car still had bumper-to-bumper warranty with 18000 Miles. I hope it happens to their family members that’s the only way they can understand what it felt like to be in my shoes
Muriel Annunziata you could have done lemon law. That’s horrible! They should have replaced the car for free for you. Hopefully you had insurance too then you could He a really good car. I’ve heard there was a lot of issues with the start stop. Either that or they don’t know what happened. Which is entirely possible with GM lol

+Bernard Odom To be honest we didn't have a hybrid in stock when we filmed this, and we wanted the focus to be on showing the big difference in styling between the 2015 and 2016. The 2015 has a bigger motor 2.5 lit and they did away with the over head handles on each door.

The 2016 Malibu I test drove a month ago looks slightly different than the one here. Very slightly. And the Malibu I test drove has the same my link system with CD player as the 2015 model shown in this video. Why is that?
I have the same question too, I just got a 2016 Malibu from a dealership but it looks more like the 2015 and I don’t know what to think of it .
@@eugenepeprah8825 it’s the Malibu limited…a2016 model that’s the same as a 2015… the refreshed 16 didn’t come out till later inn16’ so there are 2 16’s:8th gen and 9th gen.

iv alwase liked malibus my favorite sedans hands down i owned a 98 3.1 an 02 3.1 and a 06 3.5 awsome cars i just didnt buy the 2015 cuz i hated the fact that they didnt offer a v6 not even in the ltz model its a shame cuz there really nice cars same gouse for the chevy cruz nice cars but weak engines

So...three things: One, they're not fog lamps, they're LED daytime running lights. Two, you don't get 2GB of data that's tied to your mobile plan right off the bat, you get 3GB courtesy from OnStar with which you have three months to expend. And three, what happened to the promise of showing us what the DRL's look like from the outside? Now, I know they're the same as what you'll find on other cars with that tech, but come on.

2016 Chevy Malibu really looks cool form the inside, the rear end of it looks very nice but the front looks so ugly and I wish Chevrolet had made the insignia much bigger and bolder and not so weak and small. :P
If it is as bad as our two 1.4 Ecotech engines, then I will pass. Turbo problems. Plastic cooling system parts that crack and leave by the side of the road with an overheated engine. Plugged PCV valves, oil leaks. Just a piece of crap engine. Ours has had ALL of the regular maintenance that Chevy requires. Oil changes at 50 per cent on the oil life monitor, so they have not been neglected and still do not give good service.
I’d rather buy the 2015
2015 has more stylish look than the 2016. The 2016 looks like every other foriegn car out there, bland.
