That was super risky and smart at the same time when Axe turned around to face the edge to shield. I guess Leffen was hoping to shield stab and Axe just hoped to get a uAir setup.

QA clanking with Shine. Causes a slide if you land on the ground with it. Kind of like Yoshi in the egg but works only in clanks and perfect QA landings where you cancel the landing animation.

The visa issue is still up in the air, so no tournaments for him in the U.S. But, he can still go to Canada, which is where this tournament took place

+Thomas Speranza Not entirely sure but at a guess, Pikachu UpB clanked with Fox Uptilt in the middle of its jump, causing the moves to cancel each other. Pikachu retains his momentum from the move because it canceled before the frames where he stops at the end. Then he decelerates to his Air speed as he flies across the stage.

And I can't even successfully short hop with Pikachu. I don't know how long his jumpsquat is, but it's apparently too fast for me.
Its actually the shortest in the game at 2 frames. Tied with Pichu, Fox, Samus and a few others.
I managed it extremely inconsistently. How can top level players consistently tap X for only a single frame?
+An Average Pichu 2 Frames actually :P Its really just muscle memory at some point if you do it over and over. Just look at any highly technical Fox/Falco: They also do a lot of (near) frame perfect inputs in quick succession, which obviously is notably harder than simply shorthopping. Practise it and it shouldnt be a problem anymore :-)
Two frames of jumpsquat=one frame to input it and remove your finger/thumb before it becomes a fullhop, at least assuming it works the same way as Smash 4.
I much prefer Marth and Young Link to Pikachu, anyway. Aside from preferring sword characters, their jumpsquat is more manageable.
And Leffen wants to be the only god? Still need a long way to go buddy.

Robert Gonzalez I know what an edge guard is. I meant why do they play on the edge after they take the stock? Resulting in an SD like what just happened here.
They do it for the ledge invincibility while they wait for the other guy's respawn invincibility to go away. It's the safest place to be for a lot of characters, unless you mess up.
I like how everyone thought it was over after Axe's SD(Game 5), then he pulled it off regardless. Good set by both despite Leffen's facial expressions.
