Hi my sweet friend, thank you so much for another inspiring video. I need to get busy and check out my seeds also and get things ready to start planting. Thank you for all your inspiration. Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie.
Oh, thank you so much for watching Grandma Sandy and Debbie! I am so happy that you have come along and I am glad that you enjoyed this video. I so appreciate getting to know the viewers on the other side of the screen. Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments! Blessings until next time!
I saved my tomato and pepper seeds last year and they all germinated this year and are doing great. I just scoop seeds out, lay them on a paper towel for several weeks then fold the towel up and place in ziplock. I tore a piece of the towel off with a seed on it and planted. Was super easy
Oh, Dawn, that makes it all sound so easy! Thank you so much for sharing. Thanks for watching. And definitely thanks for that comment. I love hearing from people on the other side of the screen. Blessings on your day friend!
I always just plant the rainbow carrots because I’m like you I have seven great grand children and they love pulling the carrots up and seeing what color they are going to find as you can see. I am watching your video from the beginning to the end I’m a fool, supportive friend, and I love garden videos.
Oh darlin', you are the sweetest! You sound like an amazing grandma! seven greats? That is awesome! I have 6 grands with a seventh on the way in June. They are the best aren't they? Thanks so much for your support of my channel. Thanks also for the comments. I love hearing from you! Blessings sweet friend!
Life got busy and I didn’t save as many seeds as I should have last year. Thanks for sharing your seed haul. I love to see what everyone is growing this year.
Oh Addie, I so understand! I intended to save also, but…life! We have next fall, so will try again! Blessings on your garden and thanks so much for watching and for your comment. I love getting to know the people on the other side of the screen!
Welcome! I am so glad you stopped by. I am so excited for the hope of what those seeds hold. I’m happy you commented. I love meeting the faces on the other side of the videos. Blessings on your gardening this year!
I will have to try the roasting of the beads. I don’t like beets but then I don’t like radishes, but I found out by watching one of my garden channels just roast them and they’ll taste wonderful and you know they did now I grow radishes in my garden and they grow easy. They’re in the best part of all I just roast them in the oven and they’re always wonderful to eat. They have a totally different taste.
Thanks so much for watching Grandma Sandy! I have heard that roasted radishes are good and I had decided I’m going to try them this year. Thanks so much for reminding me of that!
Hi! If you like, I have garden tour videos that show them all through the season. Here is a link to the playlist…th-cam.com/play/PLeEQXFboDRI3vtlN1h7nmCU8j7O9x5Y3q.html If you still want photos let me know. Thanks for watching and thanks so very much for your comment. I love hearing from viewers! Blessings on your day!
I have had a terrible time growing carrots. I have learned that if I try growing carrots in my containers day, turned out beautiful every time and carrots have the most beautiful flowers you’ve ever seen I’m sure you already know that and I grow a half my carriage to eat and have for the flowers can you believe that I grow them every season now that I realize all I have to do is put them in containers can’t grow them in the soil though.
I have the same situation! I have always tried to grow them in the ground and last year I grew them in a raised bed, and they were amazing! I have not seen the flowers, are they kind of like a Queen Anne’s lace? Those I have seen. I’ll have to try that out this year. Thanks so much for the idea!
Great haul, I am also trying out cylindra beets this year too! Wish I could easily purchase Bakers Creek seeds from Canada, but it ends up being far too expensive.
Hi Anna, thanks for watching! I hope your beets do well. I’m sorry that bakers creek shipping is too expensive for you. Check back with me and let me know how your beets do. I would love to know how they work for others and I’ll let you know how they work for me. Thanks again for watching and thanks so much for your comment. I love getting to know the viewers on the other side of the screen! Blessings on your day!
Penny I love opening seed orders. Dragon tongue bean is one I grow I am a tomato lover! You got a lot of great varieties. Thank you for sharing! I love seed hauls. Have a very good night, or morning! Wendy🙏🏻🌎🇺🇸
My Baker Creek stuff came in a couple of days ago too!! It IS so exciting!! I love the leaf lettuces. I also use both the green and the red as a border plant around the raised beds. Adds beauty as well as edible. I love the Parris Island Romaine too and Tom Thumb is a bib lettuce I like that makes a small head. Thanks for the info about the golden beets!
Jennifer, that is exciting! I love the idea of using lettuce as a border. That sounds beautiful! I hope you enjoy the golden beets if you grow them. I love them! Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. I love getting to know the people on the other side of the screen. Blessings on your day!
The one pepper you would not pronounce I am thinking it is the avariski pepper is how I pronounce it lol. If you can break it down the way I spelled it. I love your variety of vegetables this year. I am fixing to start ordering my seeds next week. Was just going to get mine at Walmart but not this year. Allot of bought there last year didn’t Grier very well especially my tomatoes. I am going to order from Hoss tools this year. My beets did really well last year. But didn’t grow allot of them so I bought a 25 pound bag of them at the farmers market that were the sweetest beets I have ever eaten. I was just eating then after I boiled them to make pickled beets. I told my mi wish I had just not picked some of them just to eat on the side with meals. I am so looking forward to the garden this year. I am going to have a in ground garden plus all my raised beds. Going to preserve everything I can this year. Bought a new water bath canner, need pressure canner and everything I need to do it right. I want to buy one of those electric canners I watched Becky over at acres homestead use hers and she loves it.
Hi James! Sounds like you’ve got some good plans for your garden this year too. I have learned that people either love beets or hate beets! I am so happy that I am one that loves them because they are so good for you. Thanks for helping me out with the pepper pronunciation! That is very helpful. Also, yes, I saw Becky use that canner as well as a couple other friends of mine and I want one so bad! I’m hoping I’ll get one in the near future. It would be so nice just to put some things in and walk away. With having my grandkids here and now my mother living here, it would be so nice not to have to stand over a pressure canner and make sure the cage stays where it supposed to be. Thanks so much for watching, and for commenting friend! As always, it was a joy! Blessings on your day and your upcoming garden!
@@OpenHandFarm same to you my friend, I have both my parents here with me, I have other siblings but they don’t help me with them at all. My son and daughter do more for them than their own children do and it’s very sad. But you know I will have ask the wonderful memories of them growing old with me and having all these precious moments. I like to take them to special places they want to go, and we spend allot of time at doctors offices throughout the month but it’s not a big deal we just make a day of it shopping and doing all we need to do before coming back home. Praying for you and your family, and asking the Lord to give you and abundance of harvest this year. A horn of plenty and that your cup runs over with the blessing of the lord.
@@jamesbrown8718 I can only imagine the amazing job you’re doing with your family! @@OpenHandFarm amen that we are, I believe there are special blessings f for what we do. Just a FYI on the red carrots they are supposed to be grown in cold season. I'm not sure what your plans were for them just thought I'd warn you they apparently don't like heat at all.
Oh Brittany, thank you so much! Maybe I’ll go ahead and put some plastic over one of my raised beds to work as a cold frame and try them soon. I really really appreciate that! I just love hearing from viewers! Thank you so much for watching and caring enough to share! Blessings on your day!
