- We go through BYU's 2024 football schedule and predict which games we predict they will win and lose. How will BYU fare in year 2 in the Big 12? Will they have a bounce back season? Will they be at least reach a bowl game?

What do you think BYU's record will be at the end of the season?
BYU goes undefeated. Crazy?! Tell that to 1998 Arkansas Razorbacks. They were chosen to be last in SEC. They were a kneel down away from going undefeated and play for National Championship. QB tripped over O lineman's foot, and fumbled. Tennessee then went undefeated and got to the national championship. I don't see anyone stopping this offense. We don't have a QB?!! You're right...we have 4!!!
@@BrentCramer-xd9ux Love this take, I have us between 8-4 and 10-2. I think we can compete in every game, but I have us losing at UCF almost for sure
4 wins seems about right. ARod’s offensive philosophy-basically Utah’s offense-isn’t BYU’s brand. ARod has trashed it. Hill will only be able to save ARod’s rear a few times. If Hill’s smart he’ll leave, if Kalani doesn’t get rid of ARod after this year.
I'm not as down on ARod as some people are, but this year could be my breaking point. We need to do whatever it takes to keep Jay Hill.

@@peterbenjamin9180 I'm not the biggest fan of ARod, but it was supposed to be a run, and Retzlaff audibled out of it, so that's not on ARod
Have some faith in BYU. Im betting we are going with 8 wins and one of those will be over the Utes.
It's not that I don't think they can do it, but BYU has a tough road ahead of them. Every year they talk big before the season, so I'd like to see them back it up. I'm still going to watch every game and root for them like they're going to win.

Every year I tell myself I'm not getting my hopes up and then when August rolls around I buy into the hype. I'm hoping I can reverse jinx them instead this year.

Wow! You guys should be commended for being Cougar fans when you have such a low opinion of the team. It would be really hard to be a fan for me if I thought they were as inept as you guys pontificate.

Well, you sound like a fair weather fan. I'll always love my team, even when they're down.
I expect the team to have that mind set, but I'm just saying it how I see it. We didn't even say anything all that different from the guys on the bigger shows. If I were in the locker room, I'd be taking a lot differently. I still absolutely go into every game believing BYU can win.

Not likely. The Holy War is usually very competitive regardless of record. And I do believe BYU will be better than last year.

We're just saying what we think. BYU will probably be better than last year, but their schedule is also tougher. But if you prefer, we can just say BYU will win 10 games so you can feel better.
@@saturdayswarriorbyu agreed, I took a good look at every game and the play of Jake R was very promising (not decision making) his talent abilities was obviously everything we were told. Those last two games Minis two plays BYU was the superior team against two of
The leagues top teams….its going to be fun. Our talent is there.
I've never been out of Retzlaff and am hopeful we'll see more of the flashes of talent he showed last year. And just as important, I believe the O line will be much improved, even if not quite as talented individually. I love Martin, but I do worry a little about the RB depth, especially if he gets injured. I'm very excited to see the defense in year 2 under Jay Hill. But that middle stretch of games is brutal, and our non conference match ups aren't gimmes (outside of game 1). I definitely think BYU can get to 7 or even 8 wins, but it's not where I'd put my money. I'll be happy to be wrong though. Feel free to come back and throw it in my face.
@@saturdayswarriorbyutough games are winnable. The Twinkie games are what derails teams. Very hard to get excited playing a weak team, especially before a bye or week before difficult game. Meanwhile, that "easy game" puts a target on you, and beating you becomes their entire season. Happens a lot...a FCS team knocking off a FBS power 5 teams....Go Appalachian State!!!!

This is an extremely incredible offense that can score on anyone in the country, and defense should be adequate if not above average. 12-0!!!
