This is my favourite song on the album right now, I was tired with the sleepy haze you can get when I first heard this one, and the pre-chorus part nearly made me fall forward as I felt like I was getting sucked in, it gave me a little high it was incredible. Then the chorus is soaring and the breakdown with the solo\ vocal break\ solo reminded me of Slip to the Void, just great stuff all the way through.
That last little break between the bridge and the final chorus is the bit I'd dread playing live as a musician. I'd be glancing around in the buildup thinking "one of us is going to mess this up, and I really hope it isn't me" 😅
I seen an interview with Mark and myles and they were saying that one of the reasons they put mark on one song is because for one mark loves to sing, and 2 it gives myles a little break when they play live.
To be honest, the only album I at first listen-through had difficulties with, was Walk the Sky. The reason for that was because it really differentiated itself from all other albums. But it has grown on me, though. Still, it's the album I listen the least too, but it has some really good songs, as well. The Last Hero, for me, is a really good album. Pawns and Kings is one of the best albums they've released, imo. Great songs all the way through. And "Fable of..." what a freaking beast of a song!

Not decided if it's broken into the top 4 albums yet but better than the last 2 albums. Deffo fits into the "good AB albums" list. I've been worried that the members are stretched a bit too thin with all their other projeects to make a great AB album again but this album gives me hope they've got it in them. I agree it's time to give another producer a go- Baskett is a good producer but theyve used him for 6 AB albums and most of their other projects so would like fresh ideas implamented
For me it’s like a top 2 or three in overall. I revere the difference of the songs. The mix is great! Maybe this album is growing to become my favorite AB album. The ABIII is still hard to beat, though. Blackbird is such a great album, too.

Another great Alter Bridge song, a bit more progressive ala Fortress, but easily within their style. But is so want to rhyme "last man standing" with "so demanding" in the chorus - lol. To me, this album harkens back more to their ABIII/Fortress era which I sure prefer over the last two albums. These 4 guys are such good musicians and songwriters that it takes away if there are too many extra layers and sounds and tricks. Less is more with AB for me and this album is a good return to their core. Thanks to both of you for these great reaction vids. Awesome stuff!!
My top 3 are Fortress, ABIII and TLH. Pawns & Kings is going to end up in the top 3 for me I think, although I don't think it will push fortress out of the top position. The first time I listened to the entire album (P&K), I had mixed feelings, but, I think part of that was that I was following along with the lyrics at the same time, something I don't usually do. I usually wait a few listens before I dig into the lyrics. Now though, after listening to the entire album at least 20 times, I love the album. I think my favorite is going to end up being "This is War", but that could change too.
I was always torn between Fortress and Blackbird as my favourite AB album but when it comes down to it I think it is Fortress. Absolute perfect album. Pawns and Kings is great as well but I think it'll take a lot to top Fortress they set the bar too high haha
@@Froggeth81 Yeah, Fortress is epic. Hard to top. A couple weeks in and I can say that P&K, for me, is number 2 behind Fortress. But regardless, they (AB) have given fans so much truly great music to listen to. Every album is great, it's very hard to rate them. Their least favorite album to me (WTS) is definitely on my top albums of all time list.
The Last Hero is top 4 AlterBridge for me; and depending on the day, it is not 4th. This one is in that area too, with One Day Remains being 6th and WTS last.
Have you already booked your next ‚Holiday Stay‘ 😂? Thanks for being the ‚Last Men Standing‘ in doing all the reactions. A good half of the album resonated with me, which is more than usual, esp. on the last 2-3 albums.

for me, this is the Waters Rising of Pawns and Kings. Epic chorus, melodic, and that signature chaotic guitar solo. Great stuff guys!

My favorite track on the album. AB is one of the best Rock bands around. Myles and Mark are forces to be reckoned with!
