- I'm afraid our Rising Sun redbud has ambrosia beetles!! Hope we can save this beautiful tree. We'll also take a garden tour around my house. Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day Weekend!

I have the Ambrosia Beetles in my hydrangeas here on the Gulf Coast. I’ve been spraying with permethrin since January every two weeks. Still seeing some damage on 2-3 hydrangeas. I also set traps for the beetles using hand sanitizer. Traps work and I’ve caught over 100 beetles.

At creek side nursery Jenny uses a drench and a gallon of water drench each tree and bush in spring seems to get rid of the boring bugs

Thanks for the great landscape tour. You have a great collection. I'm like you , like my landscape as well.Wishing though that could grow half the plants you got in Ohio. Obviously I'm a dago love figs, got single stem about 4" caliber that I bury in fall in a trench. Have a blessed Memorial day.

So many pretty flowers. There is a wild trumpet vine growing up the power pole in our front yard. Our gardenia is full of flowers. They're beginning to turn brown. Probably from the heat. Enjoy the pool.

Phytophthora? I've had a similar trend in a macadamia nut orchard. I painted the trunks with whitewash. It was fairly effective. The agri officer said it might be caused by under and then over watering.
