An ex always awakens apart of you from the time period you were together and I can see he woke up a part of herself that maybe had been gone since then. A beautiful conversation between two of my favorite people.
Why just an Ex? Why can't it just simply be two people that know and love each other like a good friend or family member that you haven't seen for 15 years?
I love that a Drew Barrymore joke was actually what finally got Tom to crack on Last One Laughing Canada. The fact that, even thought they may not have talked for 15 years, they still had this unspoken respect for each other was so wonderful to see in real time.
It's ok man. I felt it too. I have a similar 'one' - my first gf ever....we were together for ages... Maybe we all have that with one person and this clip is like a reminder of that....
I never thought Tom Green could get all gushy like this. He describes their relationship perfectly in his book "Hollywood causes cancer", and the lack of bitterness (for which he could be justified) and absence of blame are notable. I'd like to find the book on Kindle since i've reread it several times - his voice on the page is nothing like his (basically insane) personna he showed pretty much non-stop on "The Tom Green Show" plus his (bizarre) movie "Freddy got fingered".
He does not seem very comfortable with the candor Drew was giving out, but he eased into it. I had such a crush on him, he's still adorable and more importantly; smart. Love the little dog, he'll have a great time traveling with her.
Do yall remember the episode of the Tom Green show where Tom has testicular cancer and he's calm as a cucumber and making jokes and Drew is a nervous wreck. They were so sweet together. Is it weird to say they kinda still have that energy? People never understood what she saw in him, but I think I can tell now. Maybe cause I'm older now too.
@Rico Williams If that’s true, that is sad. They seem to have great admiration for one another. I never found Tom funny or attractive back when they were married, but seeing him now, he’s real catch!
That episode scared me too. It was very personal. Cool how they let us into their lives like that (and that was way before social media!).. In the 90's and before social media, people sent their message on TV stations mostly 🙂.
Saw Tom Green perform standup earlier this year in my local town in Indiana. Funny, humble and creative as ever! Seemed like a couple that was pure when they were together when I was younger. Glad they both found peace
I never thought I liked him. But I listen to his podcast and I really adore him. He's so different. I have so much respect for him. He talks so high of her and it's so sweet.
Most people stop talking when they feel their voice crack because they feel weak... she just kept going. I know I dont know her but I'm proud of her. Such a hard talk.
These two just seem to really know one of the hardest and most beautiful truths out there -- that you can know that someone isn't the right partner for you, yet still love them wholeheartedly. That shared realization is such a gift.
My exhusband is one of my best friends. We were married for almost 20 years, had kids, watched our relationship crumble and divorced. Now Him and my boyfriend are great friends and even go on “Brocations” without me and the kids. We do everything as a family still and it’s the best. Being able to set aside the past and just still love and support one another is everything and the most healing thing you can possibly do in a relationship. Good for them for being able to celebrate one another after all this time. Drew is such a great icon and just has a loving and amazing soul. We all need more Drew in our lives. ❤️❤️
My ex husband and I are best friends too. People think it's the weirdest thing ever. Our spouses have had problems with it..that's why he's no longer married to his wife but it's awesome when you could put differences aside and have a healthy relationship.
@@cr1pt0g0d9 Marriage is an institution (historically conceived as a business transaction) that either succeeds or fails. If we, the people, would understand this, the story would be much different when it comes to divorce.
FJ Umm my kids are not ruined. We both fought like hell to save our marriage but we couldn’t. So what’s better, stay together and set the example that you stay in an unhappy marriage or divorce and stay friends, stay a family, have happy kids who have a good example? My kids are happy, well adjusted, have two men who absolutely love them and protect them, and two happy parents who are one hell of a parenting team. Nothing is ruined, staying together and being miserable would have ruined them.
FJ yes and no about the kids and it depends their upbringing, but I do agree getting married and then divorced. So much for better or for worse. I was once married, never again. Thanks goodness we didn’t have kids. Don’t get married if it’s not gonna be forever, pretty much the paper that everyone signing it’s just a contract.
I haven’t had seen such a refreshing, sincere, and honest talk show host in so many years (who doesn’t pivot to humor). Drew just seems like the kind of person where “what you see is what you get.” I think she would make an excellent replacement for Ellen.
I loved the pranks he’d do to his parents..especially when he filled the house with goats..lol..He really did do a lot for bringing awareness to testicular cancer. Glad he’s doing well!
This is beyond sweet & heartfelt. Their love is very much still there, even if they never get back together as a couple... it’s obvious they care a great deal about one another

There's still chemistry between them and it radiates through the screen
I thought the exact same thing!!! 🥰😍🥰😍🥰
These two were definitely deeply in love. I wish they could’ve worked things out watching this!
I feel like he's trying hard to keep it cool 🤣 it's adorable! 15 years is a long time, you can still see/feel the love 💕
Keep it cool as In not to expose her? Smh
That safe feeling that she describes, falling asleep in a house with the activity of people that love you in the background. Best feeling in the world!
I remember early Saturday mornings before I would get out of bed.. I could smell coffee brewing and I could hear me dad reading/rustling the newspaper.. the telly on low... such a good feeling.
Can we just replace Ellen with Drew. She is so pure and positive and she is the most genuine person in the whole world.
I think there's enough room for both of them. Two totally different people.
Who’s Ellen? 😜☕️
Thank you! Agreed.

So much love coming back and forth!!! Maturity - respect - humanity. The recipe is simple.

this was such a tender, genuine discussion between Drew and Tom that I actually teared up a couple of times. warmed my heart 😊

They or atleast she was tearing up too. They must be too real together and thats "why" they aren't together, or weren't anyway...they just couldn't handle real at that time.....
I love Drew! The fact that she can interview her ex husband and say such positive things about him says a lot about her character. ☺️
It’s not like they had a bad divorce.. he didn’t beat or cheat on her, they just simply got married to soon after meeting and realized they weren’t “in love”.
@@lorigravelin2081 I’m pretty sure she was doing a lot of cocaine at the time, and cheated on him while he was going through cancer treatment.
If all humans could be this kind, imagine how much better of a world we would live in. Thank you for always being yourself Drew, you are truly special.
Yes, remember Took 15 years to get there.
She used him for her benefit!! Hollywood girl nothing nice about it
@Gabriela Gallegos, she is a much bigger star than he’s ever been, yet you think she used him for some type of gain???

Aw. Tom green is very kind. His eyes aren’t all over. He’s looking at her when he speaks to her. I had two exes before I got married and I always remember the funny one. ☺️
Trust me, they remember you also. 😅
Yeah, tom green is cool. He's my spirit brother so I know.
I noticed this about him on Joe Rogan's podcast too. He looks, listens and stays engaged with whom he's speaking to. Seems like a good man!
@@avidlyathena - the way he looks at her; like he is still in love with her. I believe Drew broke his heart.. just like she did her husband. I like Drew, but I think she should just stick to friendships.

It’s hard to tell when drew is about to cry or just talking. She’s so genuine and real!!! You can’t possibly not love her!!
From the time she was just a baby on the screen, she's been impossible not to love!
🥰
She's so genuine you can't tell?
Probably a bit of both! 😊 It's so strange, but when she was a teenager she talked in a much more composed and calm manner on TV... Maybe she was afraid to be raw because they would have used her vulnerability against her? Now she's not afraid of being herself...
She’s an actress .. she’s trained to pretend to be another person . Isn’t that the opposite of genuine ?
I was in tears with her when she was talking about staying the night at his parents lake home and.... These two are a true inspiration on what humans should be like with one another no matter what! Thank you Drew and Tom! Sending much love from Minnesota🥰

I wish I had someone like Drew Barrymore in my life, she's literally the comfort and warmth I've never had.
Yeah she would divorce your ass in 3 months like she did with her dozens of relationships

Agreed but he’s admitted theres a lot of scripting and preplanning like most of entertainment industry very little just happens - air time far too expensive for spontaneous.
also Craig Ferguson. But that got awkward sometimes when it got real. Drew did have Craig as a guest recently.

The safety and sleep at his parents lakehouse got to me 😭 Her heart is so enormous and BEAUTIFUL❣️
Yeah, I don't think that Drew had that in her childhood and she found it at her in-law house.
Lee Jay - I totally related, early-on as a child, my biological mother gave my sister (3 months old) and me up for (sealed) adoption when I was 27 months old. The abandonment fear was a major issue as a young child and sadly has had some lasting effects as an adult. She was abandoned by everyone, which is why she has such an enormous heart and is so sensitive and emotional to love and stability. She’s such a tender-heart. She’s a precious gem.☮️💟

I think whether we want to admit it or not we still have love for anyone we have shared an intimate moment with.
She's still in love with him too
Who dumped who?? Actually I'll answer my own question. He must have dumped her... Because she said she hasn't seen or TALKED in 15 years. I think he wish he NEVER left her. When you find real love... Hold on to it...you may never find it again. ❤️🙄
How could you not? Shes adorable
Of course he does! Don't we all?

I normally do not care about celebrity updates but, this video, was really candid and real. All of us in our mid 40s can really relate to and respect this.
Also, is it me or is Tom Green better looking now compared to how he was when he was younger!?
Yeah he does
Yes he looks great
He looks really handsome
it just took him 40 years to grow into his looks. lol

Now Him and my boyfriend are great friends and even go on “Brocations” without me and the kids. We do everything as a family still and it’s the best. Thanks, this is why I’m never getting married. It’s the norm for modern women to want to get divorced after having kids and ruin their upbringing.
