The Ferrari F2004 with slick tyres is absolutely one of the FASTEST F1 cars ever! This car is about 4 seconds faster than the 2023 pole lap from Perez in Jeddah! The 2023 Saudi Arabian GP is tomorrow, would the F2004 destroy the 2023 F1 grid?

It has: less downforce than current cars, BUT crucially it is 193kg lighter AND it is not as long as a boat, so it is a very nimble car
It just has a real engine instead of this hybrid 1.6 trash.
It also has 950 hp throughout the entire lap, instead of only during a portion like the current engines do.
You forgot no RPM limit/fuel usage limit. Also refueling allowed back then -> lighter cars.
this video is not representative. the real f2004 could not do these speeds in the corners. The slick tyres are giving too much grip and ignoring real like downforce

A crash at those speeds without a halo or a safety cell will be fatal, maybe f1 was right about making its cars slower but safer

Sometimes on the weekends I get on assetto to play in the F1 2004 spa server and man there's nothing like it. Literally cant imagine driving it irl

@@kamildziuba8025 Content Manager and then look for online races. There you can filter for tracks. But tbf these open lobbies are so dirty there its almost unenjoyable

The map is the last year one, this year turn 22 is slower and around 7-8 tents slower in sector 3 compared to the faster one. Also F2004 with slicks will have a lower top speed because of more friction, insane low speed cornering and grip and slightly lower high speed grip compared to moderno cars (but closer) overall the mod is a little bit overpowered.
Well, the car is much smaller with similliar power. So way less drag. It will be faster down the straights. Just compare the top speed´s on official websites from the 04 cars and the current generation.
Jesus, just imagine the posibilities if this car just had DRS, slicks and ERS.
ERS would add tons of weight, and the car would be complete trash
All this are just theoretical, in real life F2004 can only go a bit faster with the slick tyres. Modern cars still have much higher downforce and more torquey power unit that goes hand in hand with the slick tyres, modern cars also have wider wheelbase giving more cornering stability.
Have to agree. Such laptimes like these are non-existent. Modders are only over-compensating on the F2004, since many said the car was underpowered when it was literally the EXACT SAME DATAS from the car that Ferrari gave Kunos

Ok, this Is just a simulation, but show how the V10's cars are fastest than modern F1 cars
This is mean that the progress technology and performance it's useless, because if this car could run fastest than modern F1 cars, this is a shame
And the V10 have almost the same horsepower than today, with 960 HP on the last progress engine
To be fair with todays cars. They are way more reliable and can be used way longer than the V10s. Back in the days some teams used 3 engines per weekend. One for training, one for qualifying and one for the race. You couldn’t think of something similar today. And they use way less fuel to archieve the same power as this car does.

Just goes to show you how important the current debate about how light and nimble the cars are is.
The F2004 has drastically less downforce, drastically less mechanical grip, and drastically less engine power than the cars of the last six years or so. However, put slicks on it, and it is crazy fast. That is all down to the car being so light.
So, can we do the rest of the championship with that car?

I never liked the grooved rubbers back those days but i’m wondering how the slicks would have performed in those conditions. Those cars were lighter by 200 kilos. I think if they use slicks the lap records would not be broken to these days.

@@DanySahne85 Do you mean ASR Formula's F2004? No, it's not better. Many modders are always overcompensating for the actual engine power that the Kunos F2004, as well as the REAL F2004 has.
Remember, Kunos has all the datas that Ferrari gave them, including datas from the F2004 and various other Ferrari cars in AC.

Maybe its the horsepower, its a V10 while modern cars have advanced aero but only a V6. I might be wrong, Im not a F1 engineer.

Track limits exit turn 4.
The tyres sliding continuously, which means after the 3th turn the 2023 tyres would get fire. So not really realistic.
take the ASR F2004, that has more power and put slicks on that thing. you'll see what's fast then

This is not the official car- this is a modded car with unrealistic handling. Secondly. The base 2004 is already broken in game and unrealistic, this is an unrealistic version of an unrealistic version so it’s double the bonkers.
It's not the fastest made anyway, I think the 2020 destroys the 2004.
