Absolutely! The sad part is that I can't remember a decade when it didn't hit hard somewhere. We need to do better as a humanity. Thank you for watching and commenting. 🙂

    "Thank you religion". Facts.

Listening to this song today is insane. I'm surprised I haven't seen more reactions to it given the events now playing out.

Thank you for commenting. Yes, we don't seem to find that peace so far. 🙂

Do you think Waits is anti-religion or anti-fundementalism? I was surprised when he came out with this. Why do you think we need to get rid of the idea of God? Maybe the idea of an intervening God but what is so bad about Deism?

      Hi Donald,
I have no idea, and I wouldn't like to guess too much. He is such a character that he might answer differently on different occasions, so no way to even know for sure there. (I guess we never know the deeper mind of anyone at any rate.) I actually think he's smart to keep people guessing. Lots of people have beliefs that make them feel better or comfortable at times, and that's fine. I write fiction stories, and that gives me an outlet. The difference is that I know my stories are made up. They are based on real events sometimes, and they have real psychological components because many of them deal with issues that real people have - but they are from my imagination as well. It depends on what you mean by Deism. There are as many versions of Deism as there are of gods - and there are thousands of gods! I think believing in one god is a step in the right direction, and believing in deism is another step in the right direction - now just one more step - lol! It's too complicated a subject to do in even a fairly long message. It isn't just God or religion that's the problem - it's the concepts and the model that is flawed. Any cult leads to issues. Large groups of people following along because of "faith" rather than knowledge or evidence is a problem for me. Don't get me wrong, that does not mean that the person is a problem. I know loads of amazing people from various religions. Okay, I have to stop now or I'll either go on a rant or write a book. If you have a belief that there is something greater than us and that this entity is a deity, that's likely no problem. Who knows, maybe one day we will find this entity and discover what it is. Then I will believe - but I still won't have faith (in the religious sense) because then I'll have knowledge. 🙂

@@rjjsreactions-rk7zh Thanks for the response. I don't know if you have already listened to it but you might like God's Away on Business by Waits. I hope there is a God and a way of eventually finding that out.

@@donaldquirk7801 I remember hearing that song a long time ago. I might react to it on the channel. I do like Tom Waits alot.
I'd focus more on this life - it's amazing! Tragic at times - but still amazing. 🙂
