One of the greatest events of my life, in Phoenix,AZ having a shitty day at work, upset that I didn't blow my budget on a $200.00 ticket for the first night of the Pehdstcajumba tour. Having a weird feeling and checking Craigslist one last time for a ticket, and an ad posted, 3 hours before showtime, someone looking to give away an extra ticket to a True Tom Waits fan, to send a message explaining why I should receive the ticket. Pouring my soul in a response to the ad, 30 minutes go by and my phone rings, and yes, I had won that extra ticket. My life was changed that night, finally got to see the legend take away a packed house at the beautiful Orphueum theater on a musical journey. Pure Magic.Thank you Tom, Thank You.
Invitation to the blues is one of the most beautiful and incredible songs I've heard in my entire life. This song alone is enough reason to respect this man forever and ever
timeless genius will always knock you on your ass when you least expect it. this one is so different, he's no different. deadly from the place you could never guess...
The planet isn't burned out. The society that inhabits it may be, though. The Earth will go on for billions of years after humans are long gone just as if we were never here.
@Gordon Fornow Indeed. There are communities such as you describe but they aren't in North America nor Western Europe. That IS for sure. The "West" is destroying itself through greed and vanity.
I feel the exact same way. I don't live in the U.S. I know he'll never tour here. I want to travel to see him, but how could I secure tickets? I need a ticket broker or something.
I used to have dreams of hanging out with Tom Waits playing music on odd instruments and cleaning tools whilst a tornado swept up the surrounding town. I think it was somewhere near Cleveland,OH
Holy Moly! Wow! Did not know WHERE the heck Tom was going with this one... then, BOOM! The profound nature of the words hits with the weight of a Steam Train gone nuclear! Wow! THIS guy can SEE sh*t, ole Tom can! He's 5D Chessin' it with this one! Bravo! Now?! Now, gotta rewatch the vid. The marrow of my bones heard Crystal clear, but my ears appear to need another go, because the ole mind does not yet fully understand the words...;)
My voice coach asked me where I’d like end up with my music. Now I know what video to forward, and to end every conversation with “say hi to your mother” with an innocuous tone.
He is given over... Never thought he would, he has given over, never realized that is what his music is about but if not he has certainly given over. The "cherry bomb" interview was a bridge too far. He has given over. If he was not always given over, he has given NOW over for sure. He is given over.
@@jaybones8457 Not hard to figure out and I was a huge Tom Waits fan. Going Out West, Jersey Girl, even Eye Ball kid. Very entertaining but his reference about the 9 yr old girl and cherry bomb and clown, I know symbolism and if anyone on the planet knows symbolism it is Tom Waits. One of my favorites was Had a Good Home But I Left. And Last Leaf On The Tree. Hardly a song he ever made, I did not find worth listening to. Oh, and Jesus Gonna Be Here too. Great music, Oh and God's Away On Business, mentioned in this interview. All of it was great. The reference to the little girl and him being a "cherry bomb" and a "clown." Can't understand this shit at all. It is called symbolism my friend and his songs are full of symbolism. That is why I know his words were intentional and on the "dark side" for sure.
If you're looking for meaning in the meaningless, you're as adrift on the moonlit sea as the rest of us are, and you'll have to choose your own star - Tom Waits is AWESOME!
Brilliant ! You always make me laugh and think. Ever more older brother lent me an album of yours ( some live one in NYC I imagined ) I have followed you. Thanks
I may or may not have once been stranded on a desert island with Tom Waits. There, we may or may not have faced the dreaded Peskajumbawoky, and survived.
I know exactly what he's talking about. People envy happiness, yes that's clear, That's precisely why they get involved in the thing alluded to. Every dog has it's day and the courage will make jubilation/debt cancellation happen. Better assets all around. Glitter and doom. It will seem to get better AND worse at the same time.
I've never felt better about being myself. This man is a genius.
there are so few singular musicians or performers .. I could never understand that, and Tom Waits has been one of the most singular
This guy doesn't even have to TRY to be a comic genius, it just flows through him naturally.
By far the best press conference- of any type-viewed by me so far this year!
Ladies and gentlemen... The Last Original! As always, let's thank our lucky stars for Tom. Stay well, everyone.
I've been sober for ten years with the help of PEHDTSCKJMBA. Thanks Tom Waits!
Atti Ylänen: ...also reads and sounds like the name for one of the Old Ones populating the underworld of H. P. Lovecraft's imagination!
With the help of PEHDTSCKJMBA, I lost ten pounds of muscle and put on twenty pounds of unsightly fat - halleylujah!
interestedlen everything in moderation... even PEHDTSCKJMBA
I was able to increase my masturbation 4000%, all because of PEHDTSCKJMBA.
I met my wife thanks to PEHDTSCKJMBA.
That man is a National Goddamn Treasure.
An international treasure even
Amen
The guy is bat shit loony !
Intergalactic treasure.
I don’t wanna grow up is a good one
Adore this man. Can't even find words to explain.. Tom, you're my hero, foreverrrrrr.
A dream would be to see and hear Mr Waits live .. wow.
Possibly the most gifted living poet.
Him and Cohen were tied for first . He's world number 1 now.
A figure! Great lyricist, musician and interpreter. Here in Brazil we are your unconditional fans! May God keep you healthy and protected!
Here in San Francisco big fan of Guinga.
Sim man
Brilliant.
He knows. The comedy is set. The tragedy is holding on to anything too tight. Navigate with care.

This was so refreshing and, in the end, worth the time spent. Thank you! Tom for a flash of sunlight
2008. twelve years ago and timeless. Viva Tom Waits!
So who else thought before clicking that this is a new press conference and we're getting a new album. :/
Nope, it says glitter and doom...
no I always read the description because a lot of times the answers are right there
Yeah, me - for one glorious second.
Only of he gets to be Mr Pink
I was hoping for a second leg of the Glitter and Doom Tour.
Tom, you are such a prize. You're looking good, better than I will at that age. Keep on rockin'.
Invitation to the blues is one of the most beautiful and incredible songs I've heard in my entire life. This song alone is enough reason to respect this man forever and ever
The One That Got Away on that album is epic. That album is epic.
Love Tom Waits!!
He was the inspiration Heath Ledger used for the Joker
Brilliant, each and every time I watch this!
Watching this, I had a glimmer of hope he would tour again
Never really a fan of his style of music but I will always be a big fan of Tom's personality. Bravo! Love this guy lol
I have been a Tom Waits fan forever
Tom, you are absolutely priceless. Thank you and stay safe.
I feel like I understand Tom's deeper meaning, while no one else does. You probably feel the same.
Unfortunately, I'm not still speaking English as well as I'd like but it seems to me Tom always give us food for thought...))
It was such a magical show to witness. Glad I had the opportunity to be there. It was in Jones Hall Houston Texas an opera and symphony venue.
He's so friggin awesome, I LOVE THIS MAN!!
"Dogs.. Though.." made me burst out laughing
Charming as always ♡.
Ladies and gentleman can we at last declare, by default, the next President of the United States.
If he accepts.
Trump 2020
Oh, he’d hate that job.
Clevell Barney A drunk for a President. What a great idea.
@@pamelae1696 If and when he's drunk, he more lucid than 90% of us, but I think he's been sober for for 20 plus years.

Tom would make a great science teacher.
Uh....
Yes mad scientist.
Tom Waits: "I'm not dead."

Tom: "Peskajumba?"
World: "OK, whatever."
Tom Waits is the BEST!
wow, you can learn from Tom; thanks from Vancouver!!
Wow, he's got the same journalists and crowd as the 2016 Presidential dabates!
The man is and always has been brilliant
Oh buddy... Will you ever tour again? New Zealand needs you. I need you. :(
Another K1W1 here feeling the exact same way. I'm flying to the States if I ever get to buy a ticket!
This man is seeing in 4 dimensions bro
This is the guy that designed the 4th dimension
All 4 are bat shit loony
I find great comfort knowing that Tom is taking it easy for all us sinners. He and Nick Cave give me hope still.
Thanks Tom.
Legend has it, to this day, Mr. Waits has still not confirmed or denied his ability to control the elements.
"Emotional Weather Report" confirms it
Said Bill Hicks
I would wake up each day with a little more hope if Mr. Waits was to offer us a weekly serving of laconic lockdown lecturing. 💎
Brilliant. Thank you for making my day.
You're the teaser of teasers. Love you so much. Peskejumba my man!
"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy "

Pretty sure WC Fields first said that.
He is using actual occult forces.. is what you should have gotten from that last part.
"There ain't no Devil, that's just God when he's drunk:
I heard him say that on the Dinah Shore tv show in the early ‘70s!
@Jerome Lund seriously? "What?"
Tom Waits played a bum brilliantly in Iron Weeds. I've seen him in a couple of other movies, and he never fails to perform superbly.
Find Cold Feet. Buy it. The most outrageous Waits. And he's all over in it.
One of my favorite comedians
Tom Waits.... My spirit animal
Well worth the watch.

Well done. So creative. This is why I love Tom Waits.

he’s truly, wonderfully mental. i love him so much.
